I organized a wine tour of 18 colleagues on Saturday, September 19, that included Woodhouse Family Cellars in Woodinville, WA. I regret that our visit was less than satisfactory. At least three members of my party were lectured about a “great deal” they received. Allow me to explain. After speaking with the manager, Kimberly, I set up a time to come and have a private tasting. During the conversation, I inquired about group discounts or promotional items you might offer to tour groups. She said there was nothing she could offer. We could either do the regular $5 tasting, reimbursed with purchase, or $10 private tasting, which is non-reimbursable. I was a bit disappointed with the offer, especially since Brian Carter, JM Cellars, Silver Lake, Ste. Michelle, and Columbia all gave us better options. However, I accepted the private tasting, hoping the experience would make up for it. When we arrived, we were directed to our own table, where a server started pouring wines. He told us the fee was $5 per person, which he requested to collect up front but said would be reimbursed with a purchase. I thought this was a great gesture, giving my previous disappointment. We all paid up front and enjoyed the tasting. However, when I went to purchase a bottle of your wine, I was told that the server made a mistake and should have charged us $10 per tasting, which was non-refundable. Regardless, my tasting fee was discounted, which makes me wonder why I was told this at all. That’s when I learned that everyone in my party was lectured by the manager about this when they tried to buy a bottle. Some received the $5 discount, some did not. When I spoke to Kimberly about it, I was lectured in the middle of tasting room. If there was a problem with our group, it should have been brought to my attention. That’s completely unprofessional to argue with members of the party. It was my wish to continue my group’s pleasant experience by visiting your tasting room; instead, many members of our party were individually made to feel as if they had done something wrong. Not only did this ruin our experience at that winery, but it has now turned us off of the wines for the foreseeable future. We have nothing good to say about this experience.

Excellent wines and wonderful atmosphere to enjoy tasting. I would highly recommend for private events. We recently enjoyed our daughters wedding reception at the Woodhouse Wine Estates. The staff was outstanding to work with from initial planning all the way through the actual event. The kitchen area was perfect for the caterer to set up all the appetizers and later the dinner items. The table arrangements were very flexible to accommodate our specific needs and we even had room for a dance floor. The two large screen TVs above the wine bar worked great for displaying a slide show of the bride and groom growing up. Another item not to overlook when planning an event is parking for your guests and this facility has plenty of convenient parking. And of course, you can choose ahead of time which selection of excellent wines you would like to serve your guest. I think I enjoyed that part the most, second only to the reception itself, as I “had” to return several times to sample the wines in order to choose the right ones for our guests. Oh well, tough job, but someone had to do it. I agree with the other reviewer who said “Dont miss this gem!”

These guys are consistently second to none. Every wine is outstanding and the staff ALWAYS makes you feel welcome. The winemaker, Jeanne Claude, is about the nicest guy you will ever meet; his experience & passion for wine making is evident in each & every fantastic wine weve tried. Great tasting room ambiance and entertainment to boot! As much as I want great success for Woodhouse I am selfishly hoping they dont get too terribly popular due to my love for their great wine & service.

Visited on October 1, 2011 this couple was very nice and had a couple of very smooth wines. The atmosphere was very pleasing inside in comparison to the warehouse district setting that they are located in. Id definitely give it a try while youre shopping these wineries.
