I guess Ill start with the positives on this place. This place is in a forest so the campsite was visually secluded from your neighbors which is nice. There is a restroom within reasonable walking distance from all the campsites. They recycle. There is a a good size parking lot to the beach. The beach is sandy with little streams toward the water, which was popular with the skim-boarders. They only allow slow speeds through the park are (this isnt really a positive, its more of a warning because they were citing people for going 17 mph in a 15 mph area, the rangers do sit near the beach and on the campgrounds all day with their radar detectors). Now for the negatives. We went on the 4th of July weekend so perhaps my experience is biased by the lack of readiness for the holiday. So perhaps just dont come here on a holiday. Although there are restrooms within a reasonable distance from the campsites, not all of them were open or working, even on the 4th of July, when youd hope for them all to be at least in working order. The beach is nice but the boundaries are not as wide as youd expect. The majority of the campsites are not directly connected to the beach with the exception of the one trail which is not fully maintained. There are muddy spots and a few spots of over-growth which seemed like they were trimmed at one point, just not when I was there. We and several other people we ran into attempted to go to the beach to watch fireworks on puget sound (not necessarily the big show, which is in commencement bay), just any fireworks, and we were turned away by an unhelpful park ranger. When asked where we can go watch fireworks, he simply replied "not here." I think some simple signs on the trails and at the front of the park displaying the parks lack of interest in providing sitting space at the beach for firework observation would have been sufficient. I wouldnt have wasted the time and hike at night through the ill-maintained trail if a simple sign had been posted. Im not sure if this was posted somewhere or not but there are NOT a lot of creatures on the short park beach. This is a sandy beach with portions covered in seaweed. Even when you walk out of the park boundaries, its still all sandy beach with few creatures. The most youll find are some sand-dollars (which are a protected animal) and perhaps a jellyfish or two. A warning about the showers at the campgrounds, when they work, take tokens. You get two tokens for a dollar and one token gets you 3 minutes of warm, somtimes hot water. And the only place we could find that you could get tokens was at the front entrance which is a bit of a nuisance for those on the far side of the campgrounds (me). I knew the showers only took tokens, I did not know there was only one place to get them. Though you should know this about any campground for a holiday, you should get reservations online. They did not accept any reservations and I saw a few people get turned away. There are kids that ride around on scooters and bikes with little care for which direction cars are going so do be careful and drive slow through the campgrounds. That is all for now, but im sure ill remember more later.

My friends told me that Washington state was a liberal state I did not believe it until his read some of these reviews. Slamming a site that you never even visited. Using the park without paying and then getting caught yelling I didnt know. Gee whiz you should be ashamed of yourself. Anyway, I hope this review will be helpful. We have a 30 foot fifth wheel that we use the campground for when you drive into the campsite there is no Ranger in the booth it is a pay site meaning if you use the park for the use of it its all self service. For motorhomes stopping to find out which sites are available is not easy at all you have to stop in the middle of the road to walk over to the billboard to see what sites are available the easiest thing to do is grab your cell phone and take a picture of the list and then drive through the campsite checking all the sites that are available to see which ones you like. Dont forget to take the self pay envelope with you. After you find a site that you like Park in the site fill out the envelope tear the tag off and put it on your site number. After you set up your campsite walk to the self PlayStation drop your envelope in and Ranger Rick will leave you alone. The park is absolutely beautiful the forest is very sick its even hard to walk out of your campsite into the woods he was going through the campsite a very narrow we were looking at both sides of the vehicle so we did not hit trees very quiet and secluded. The standard sites are made for pickup truck campers and very small RVs the next size up our full hookups we had to take a popular site that was large enough to accommodate our truck and 30 foot camper $40 a night. The showers cost money and you have to get the coins at the Ranger Shack its on the outside of the shack. The restrooms and showers well theyre not maintained very well we have an RV so we did not need to use them if youre dry camping or need to use the facilities you might want to think twice. If you do not need to use your facilities its a very beautiful campground. The roads to get to are side streets so you will be on two-lane road for about 15 or 20 minutes with stop signs left turns and right turns and traffic signals.

Where do I start? You have to pay an additional $10 a night to have a car there regardless if you have a Discover Pass or not which is ridiculous. We paid for an additional vehicle so they issued us a pass which took like 10-15 minutes because the Rent A Cop Park Rangers dont know how to use their own computers. Why pay an additional amount for a vehicle when your campsite already has 2 spots????? The Rent a Cop Park Rangers are both rude and inconsiderate they dont care if you have a parking pass or not when you go past the booth to enter the campsite, they will hold each car up and check individually which creates a terribly long and unnecessary line (we waited 10 minutes for the lady to stop yapping at cars ahead of us just to get to our campsite). When it was our turn we drove past the booth slowly showing our pass then the lady screamed at us to stop and back up so she could see it even though the rent a cops staple the receipt of payment to the parking pass so it is clearly visible and on top of that we just purchased it the day before. On another note the camp is overrun with transients and human trafficking so it makes camping dangerous and unpleasant. The "Rangers" kept bothering us about "switching picnic tables from the site next door and making too much smoke" bla bla bla however THEY DIDNT EVEN PAY ANY ATTENTION to the transients that do not pay for a site but choose to live at one then move to another. THIS CAMPSITE/ PARK DOES NOT DESERVE ANY MONEY considering how they treat their guests. In fact they dont even treat them at all. It seems they care more about the transients that dont pay for anything then the paying customers!!!!! Everything costs extra!!!! Dash Point thieves you will not be getting any more of my money!!!! DO NOT GIVE DASHPOINT STATE PARK/CAMP YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
