I found this park by accident. Its a nice little park and you can either take the paved road down or a primitive trail. From the parking lot take the first trail to the left to get to the paved road and for the primitive trail just go straight ahead. If you are a bit adventurous take this trail going down. The trail is not as bad as it sounds. Shortly before the beach you have to go down a nice wooden stairway. The beach is very nice and you have great views from here onto the pudget sound and mount Rainer. That is also the advantage of the primitive trail. There is one spot with a bench and a great view. Unfortunately the beach is not very long. Everything left and right from it is private property. You will see the signs. Definitely worth a visit.

You will get your view of Mt Rainier, Des Moines marina and Maury Island from various vantage points located around this wooded and quiet park. During the middle of the day It seemed I was the only one walking the trails. There are a couple of different ways down to the huge 3 story wooden structue that grants you access to the long and narrow beach. You will need to sit awhile and rest up for the walk back up to the top. I love this quiet and cozy beach park and the trails connected to it. I hope we can keep this a secret for us Des Moines and Normandy Park residents!

Quiet and clean the beach is a great place to relax. The access trail is paved although steep. Near the bottom, is a three story, wood staircase. A nice spot to pause, catch your breath and take in some amazing views of Puget Sound. Expect a slow, yet beautiful trip back to the parking area, due to the up hill return. This is a place to be seen. Especially for a lesser known, suburban, beach access park. Enjoy and keep on parking it up!

Beautiful!!!!! The trek into it was excruciating and Im still feeling the burn two days later (I did carry a 40 pound kid) love this place and will return soon. We found lots of sea glass as well as some clam shells. We also saw sea lions. However we stopped going in the water once we saw about 20 jellyfish right on the edge of the tide. So be careful.

This park has a few trails going down to the beach. The hike down isnt bad but coming back up is strenuous. The views from the beach and the overlooks are amazing. You could go down and come back in an hour no problem. Its a pretty, quick hike right in the neighborhood.

Small but beautiful park with short hiking trails and walkable road down to the beach. Almost a 300-foot drop in elevation to get there, but many people take their kids or dogs down to the beach. It is a real community park. Parking area is full of potholes, though.

gorgeous park, nice little network of trails. not a huge park but definitely worth the visit. theres a paved incline down to the beach/overlook area, as well as trails. the trails are great if you dont mind the incline and the terrain. great for families and dogs.

Beautiful little Puget Sound park with wild forest and nice, simple, maintained trail to beach. Unfortunately the place is being taken over by English Ivy; which looks very nice, but is killing more and more firs, cedars, madronas and other native stuff.

Beautiful, easily-accessible park with stunning beach views. The walk is just difficult enough to get some exercise in if youd like, but by no means difficult.

You feel like you are far out of the city with tall trees. Then there are great views of the Sound and Mt. Rainier.

Hands down one of the best parks around Puget Sound. Make the effort to hike down to the beach; very worthwhile.
