I played this course during college with friends/fraternity brothers and could not believe the service when I called to set-up a morning 9-hole outing before my wedding. The guy who answered the phones kept putting me on hold and telling me how overwhelmed he was to be "the only one working" the desk. When he finally got back to me I was told that I would cost the club money by playing 9 holes with my group of 4 to 5 4-somes with carts ($400 or more he said, to be exact). His only option he gave me was that we pay for 18 (over-priced at $62) and then play as much as we want. It was as if he never heard me say I WAS GETTING MARRIED later that day! I cant imagine asking someone to pay for 18 if YOU KNOW they are only asking to play 9 holes. I will NEVER play golf at this swampy course again due to the service I was given. Lastly, it is one of the only courses in VA that will NOT allow golfers to walk and play...a cart is required.....guess that costs them money too! Learn some customer service Providence!

I played Providence for the first time last summer and was pleasnatly suprised. I went with a couple of friends who play there frequently, and now I know why. First of all, the service was fantastic! An employee of the course greeted me when I got out of my car by bringing a cart out to me and loading my bag on it. The pro shop personnel were equally as helpful and very friendly. The course layout is challenging but fair, and I found myself using every club in my bag, which doesnt always happen. The fairways and rough were lush and the greens were smooth and fast. Since my first round last year I have since returned several times and the experience has always been the same. This is definately one of the best public courses in the Richmond area.

Course is in ok shape. Older crowds which leaves tons of divot marks and chunks out of the fairways. Absolutely no sense of time! Unless you plan on a 5 hr+ round of golf, dont go here. Tee off times are irrelevant- youll be waiting regardless due to the slow play and inconsiderate golfers I had an older member tee off and land his drive 10 ft left of me!! Never called 4 or even bothered to wait Looooong day! Over priced and over played- too many old ppl to get a round of golf in under 5 hrs. Ill never return here

Course is overpriced. Tee boxes and fairways are in decent shape. Greens need work, especially the fringes which are not in good shape. This is has been an ongoing issue for a few years. Traps are inconsistent with the sand. Twilight rates are expensive. Only play here because its convenient to my house. Staff is friendly in my experiences. For the amount of play the course gets it would seem it could be in better shape if more money was put back into it.

Have to agree with Mr.Silver. No attempt by staff at keeping pace of play reasonable. In fact, when attempting to "give up" a hole to pass an extremely slow foursome, we were verbally accosted by said foursome. (who claimed to be staff). I wouldnt be surprised it to be true. Used to enjoy this course a few times a year, but its gotten slower the last few times and this instance closes the case. Will not return and will recommend against if asked.

There are many courses around Richmond that are much better than this for the same rate or cheaper. Stonehouse, Pendleton, Royal New Kent, Brickshire, etc. The rates here are outragous for a mediocre course (straight par 4s, not much terrain, minimal sand) that is usually in average shape. They raised their rates and they are way out of sync with the course-- dont pay them.

Course is decent, but there are too many other public options in the area that are as nice, or nicer, for a much better value; Glenwood, Belmont, Hunting Hawk, Sycamore Creek, First Tee, Dogwood Trace are few that come to mind. For a short drive, Royal New Kent and Stonehenge blow this course away. Hate to vent, but $62 for a round?? And walking is not allowed.. No thanks.

What happened to this golf course it used to be nice ? Greens were horrible never saw a smooth putt, no sand in the bunkers and no fringe. It cost 46 for twilight way over priced should be 20! Definitely not coming back.

Its pretty. I enjoy the open space, but what a gross waste of our irreplaceable & costly water. Knowing that makes for a frivolous time. We cant regrow water. The amount used on commercial is obscene.

An interesting treat. Allot of shot making required for a not so long course. The fees are very reasonable and the staff was friendly. We felt welcomed!

Service is always top notch. The course gets ALOT of play and still looks like a private club.
