Was invited to a wedding here, and although the wedding was beautiful, the representative was very unprofessional and rude...if she didnt like you...you were asked to leave. We are to understand that "she" had the right, under contract, to do this. There was alcohol brought onto the premises, which was against the rules. Instead of allowing the bride, groom or parents of either to handle the situation as to keep it a happy event, she accused 2 others of having alcohol (who didnt) then got bossy and told them all to leave...including the grooms father!!! This one table was tarketed by this reprentative of the Beacon Theatre and although was offered the opportunity to inspect the beverages and didnt...got the "what i say goes" attitued and kicked out several guests. At 53 years old...this is the very first time I got kicked out of anywhere not less a wedding for drinking Mt. Dew in anything other than their designated cups!!! I will never and will make sure none of my friends or family ever use this place for anything other than a place to park. What should have been a beautiful experience for this wonderful young couple...turned into the grooms father and several of their guests being kicked out and the police were called!!...on their wedding day!! This woman does not belong in this kind of profession. There were several ADULTS she could have gone to for assistance...instead she used her authority to ruin a young couples important life moment. I hope KARMA comes back on her 100 fold...

Attended the Delbert McClendon show. The doors were supposed to open at 6:30 only to stand out side in line for 1 1/2 hours. Once inside, waited 45 minutes more to enter the auditorium. The excuse given was that "Delbert arrived late and doesnt want people in the auditorium during his sound check." By 9:00pm still no show and the place was very cold. Some fool had turned the AC on. Besides that, over half the audience was drunk. As they had little else to do, but to keep visiting the bar. Maybe they were trying to stay warm? By 9:00pm, my wife and I had had it and left. On the way out, I noticed that three sets of double door exits, on the side of the building had been barred, so they could not open. What a tragedy, if someone had yelled "FIRE" and most tried to exit thru those doors. The next day, I learned from a friend of mine, who appeared with Delbert McClendon. That in fact they had arrived at 2:30pm the afternoon of the show to do the setup and the sound checks. But, the promoter of the show, to save money, had rented a digital sound board and mixer that no knew how to operate. It seems to me, that until the powers that be, hire a someone with experience in running a venue like this, it will never be the success that everyone hopes for.

My girl and I have seen four shows thus far at the Beacon Theater. I have made it a point to invite family members like myself who are not native to Hopewell to go. I have really enjoyed them and like that it is priced reasonable for a nights entertainment. A nice dinner beforehand and a concert is a good weekend of fun. Like many have said there is not a bad seat in the place. From what I can see the entertainers who come seem to really like the atmosphere. When you are there you see staff members posted all over. People are drinking wine and beer but I get the impression the theater will not tolerate disruptive nonsense.

My husband and I attended a Doug Church concert last July and had no problems. We arrived early and found a close parking spot. We walked next door to a Chinese restaurant, then went back to The Beacon and waited outside for the doors to open, which wasnt an unusually long time. We are going back tonight for another Doug Church show and expect the same fine experience. By the way, Doug Church gave us an excellent show along with The Romano Sisters. Good luck in Memphis at the Ultimate, Doug.

I was at the beacon theatre in hopewell va for a play ... The play was awesome my experience was the worst experience in my entire life i will never ever in my life return here again. Stacy was very unprofessional she was rude and very very very nasty ... you shouldnt get treated differently because the color of your skin I will say that was the main issue.

We saw a great show and had a nice time. Seats were comfortable in the balcony. The bar options were a little lacking, just seemed a little like someone brought their backyard cooler and started selling stuff. All in all a great time, security was good and the show wasnt too expensive.

Awesome shows, clean comfy accommodations. Affordability to the surrounding demographics is outstanding. Very community involved. Tp notch entertainment is regularly scheduled and they keep a full calendar with lots of variety. DEFINITELY WORTH IT AND WE WILL BE BACK!
