Get Over the Seats Midtown Cinema may not have the overpowering air-conditioning or the adjustable seats of the big theaters, but what it offers for residents of Harrisburg is something far more important. Many of the smaller films which dont get much recognition until the awards season get play at the Midtown Cinema, far before everyone else is charging $10-12 for a ticket. The owners and employees are true cinephiles, willing to converse about a film after its finished if the attendee reaches out with a question or an opinion. The baked goods and drinks are better than those offered at the overpriced Regal or the awful AMC, and unlike those two giants, this place has character and heart.

A fantastic independent movie theatre that plays a nice blend of classics and new releases. The flavored popcorn is delicious and addictive. Ticket prices are reasonable and, with a membership, you get discounted tickets so its even more affordable and a great deal if you like going to the movies regularly. I love their Bring Your Own Zero Day policy, so we stop by and pick up a crowler before every movie.

Best theatre around, and usually the only place to catch art films and indie pics in Central PA. To top off the great film selection, they have excellent coffee and espresso, locally made and amazing ice cream in quirky, delicious flavours, and fresh-baked goodies from a bakery down the street. You could show up three times a week and never be bored. Great staff and good parking. Hurrah, Midtown!

Great selection of Indie, foreign, small release films. 3 screens with 60 or less seats. Has a small cafe area and the usual candy/popcorn/soda/coffee options. Located in the Midtown Area of Harrisburg, which is an up and coming neighborhood with trendy restaurants, shops, bookstores, cafes, and craft breweries as well as a satellite HACC campus.

More like MidGrade Cinema, with mediocre employees. Seriously dont come here. They lock the doors the minute the movie starts. So if you already have a ticket and are running a little late, your screwed without a refund. And they just ignorantly shrug their shoulders through the window. I wish I could go lower than 1 star

Beware if you have gift certificates. Cinema refused to honor a valid gift certificate (even though it was still within expiration date). Such a shame because I was excited to finally try out the theater with a group of friends. None of us had cash, so we had to walk away.

The very opposite of a chain theater. The charming atmosphere and standout staff and concessions make for an enjoyable and memorable experience. The Indie movies that they play here are generally better than the blockbuster hits playing elsewhere.

Great community resource--theater spaces are available for rental to different groups. There are fun variations on classic movie snacks, like flavored "posh-corn" popcorn. Get a membership for discounts which will pay off in eight visits.

Midtown provides a selection of interesting movies not otherwise available in the area. Many are award winners and surpass the fare in the local theaters. The venue is charming and the dedicated staff are delightful.

I love this place! The only downfall is that their movie selections have not been as consistent as they were under the previous owner. Some weeks they have three awesome movies and then others there will be none.

Great little theater with above average concessions and excellent indie films. Go to the free outdoor movies in the summer or check out their websites for the special events and classic movie screenings.

Decent, if youre into indie movies youll like it but selections are far from quality and nothing about the place is amazing. There are more high caliber movies available than what they play here

Best theater in the metro area! Great access to well-selected, sometimes obscure movies. Hometown feeling, and next door to zeroDay and their Crowlers! BYO!

Amazing place run by an amazing crew. They are the only movie house brave enough to show the unique movies that are actually artistic.
