I had a 4 hours layover at IAD on my way back from NC to Germany and was looking for something to do. Found out that there were many golf courses in the vicinity. However, this one must be the golf course closest to Dulles Airport. A 5 minutes taxi ride (ca. 18USD) and you are there. Its a nice municipal course at the centre of Herndon. Very friendly atmosphere, good condition and very reasonable prices. 9-hole green fee, golf cart, rental clubs, balls, tees and glove didnt cost me more than 50USD. A definite recommendation for stranded airline passengers.

Played four holes, fairways were great, greens rolled well, however the staff allowed me to play as a single with a league going on that evening. I played four holes and couldnt finish the front nine before dark because of how congested the course was. Just found this was a little ridiculous becaus

Short and flat and not much to it. Would be easy except for the domed greens set at a weird angle. You can three-putt from just about anywhere. Also, hackers abound and balls fly all over the place and you have to watch out.

The place is Minty! And in great condition. Course needs another sign or two in places pointing you in the right direction on certain holes, but its a very enjoyable experience and a Nice friendly staff tops it off.

The staff in Js deli will ruin your day! Rude, argumentative and completely out of line on multiple occasions. Not a pleasant experience.
