Honestly the best park in Waxahachie. I go here for hiking, biking, exercise, (great hike & bike trail) taking my nieces to the playground (two playgrounds, one for tots and one for older kids, both of which are awesome), playing pokemon go (GREAT pokestops and good pokemon selection), having a birthday party, cookout, or a good old fashioned picnic! Getzendaner is the way to go, no matter what youre looking for in a park, they can fill just about whatever need you have!

Getzendaner Park is a wonderful escape from the bustle of everyday activities. The trail is well maintained and has plenty of places to explore. It is excellent for a family picnic with plenty of seating areas and a few play sets for kids. The park is rife with the beauty of nature, and the best place to go to clear your thoughts and burn a few calories!

Really nice walking path, good parks, and great cookout spaces! My only complaint is the bathroom, VERY creepy, lots of bugs, no soap, and just overall very dirty feeling. But the rest is fantastic! Our puppy LOVED the walking trail. And for anyone who plays Pokémon go, its great with all the gyms and pokéstops!

I have always loved this park. I have been going to it since I was a baby. The trail is beautiful, the playgrounds are nice, there is a maze for young kids which was always my favorite, and you cannot find a prettier place for a picnic. You are surrounded by pecan trees and all kinds of nature.

What a gem, hidden in Waxahachie. Clean with great facilities. Family friendly with fabulous trails. The recent 50k relay race & marathon was very well organized & enjoyable. Also has a surprise of gardens done nicely by Ellis County Master Gardeners, what a delightful park. Well done!

Love getzendaner. I do a lot of photo shoots here. The walking trail is nice. With extra stops for workouts. I wish they had a playground for the kids like 5 and under. The big kids 6+ just run over the little ones. My son has been kicked more then once -_-

I absolutely LOVE this Park, we live in Rice and I take my kids at least once a week to play and explore the trails at this Park, perfect shade, safe equipment, descent Restrooms especially for a park.. Love this place...

Definitely worth visiting o the last Saturday in September every year for the Chautauqua gathering. Its a shame the park is so run down. Get it together, Waxahachie. Why else would anyone want to visit you?
