Great comfort food, fun environment. Weve been here several times with people from work. Weve sat at the bar, in the dining room and out on the patio/yard area. Good live music. The fried okra is easily the best Ive ever had at a restaurant. The pickled veggies are very vinegary, not bad, just make sure you really like vinegar flavored pickles if youre going to order them. Theyre very crisp and fresh tasting, though. I thought the chicken fried steak was good, maybe a 7ish out of 10, but on a different trip my husband said his was very gristly. The mac and cheese is fantastic with a great bread crumb top. The portions from the fixings section of the menu are not like a single a la carte side like I thought they would be, theyre huge! So be aware of that. Now that the food is out of the way, the bartenders have always seemed to do a great job, the waitstaff, not so much. I dont know if they dont train very well or they cant keep people but our last two trips had pretty terrible waiters. Very nice, always polite, but horrible at their jobs. And because we had a large party there was an automatic 18% gratuity on out last trip. The waiter literally made 5+ trips into the kitchen for our checks. It took over 30 minutes just for him to get the checks straight and bring them to us. Then correct them and bring them out again. Another waitress actually brought our cards back out and explained that she would be helping. This is aside from the fact that it was a quiet weekday night with a nearly empty dining room and he rarely came back to check on us. I really like this place and will definitely go back but they need to work on their waitstaff.

Love the fact that there is now a big country dancehall in the I-10/UTSA Blvd. area. This place is exactly what the area needs for all the country and two-step lovers. Not to mention there are over 80+ beers on tap for the beer lovers, cool-sounding cocktails for the cocktail lovers, awesome food menu for the foodies, and live music Thursday-Sunday for the live music lovers. The place is huge and roomy. It can definitely fit a ton of people in the dining room and I love the fact that there are multiple places to sit like the lounge chairs in the bar area and along the railing on the outside patio and benches where the live music happens. Its also kid-friendly with a mini playground in the front and dog-friendly as well. Ive yet to go during live music or when the dancehall comes alive on the weekends but Im sure its on point. The Angus Beef Burger and the King Ranch Chicken during lunch was awesome, seriously one of the best burgers Ive ever had. I will definitely come back when the dancehall is open for some two-steppin and/or when the live music happens on the weekends. If youre looking for a good country atmosphere to experience with friends or family, and dance, eat and drink then the Well is the place for you.

Went to this place on a Saturday night and it was understandably packed. I can understand the bartenders are swamped and working hard, but my group was blatantly not served repeatedly for 40 minutes. After asking for 3 gin and tonics, a very easy drink to make, the girl ran the card and came back with no drinks, also understandable. But she never made the drinks. We watched over and over as she would go across to someone else, take their order and immediately make their drink. After waiting for a long time we caught her passing and reminded her we never got the drinks. She gave us a look of attitude, then told us it was busy and to chill, then still did not get our drinks as she continued to make someone elses who had literally just ordered. After nearly 30 minutes we had to move in front of the register so she would stop ignoring us, where when she finally came around, asked us what we even had and gave even more attitude as if we were asking too much of her and being rude. She finally went and made one gin and tonic then walked away. Obviously she did not get this job because of her skills in customer service or competence as a bartender, and should be re-evaluated.

First time & service was HORRIBLE !! Aryanna was our so call waitress , so disappointed cause I really loved the place but service really put me in a bad mood unfortunately . Me & my husband went despite the bad reviews , plus we both work in restaurants & Bar business and said lets give it a try . But wrong and to top it off we had a table next us which our waitress was very attended to ,while we waited forever and i had to flag the hostess down to ask if we had go to bar to get drinks or do we have a waitress , which she said Aryanna was our server . Which had passed us by a couple of times and never said ill be right with yall or nothing . She finally came to our table and a bad attitude / not friendly !! totally not the service we saw her give the table next us , which was A big difference . Finally order and of course she never came bk to check on us , plus I had to get another drink myself from the bar . My husband says to me wow is it because were Hispanic & she thinks wer not gonna tip well ?? Lol but lil does she know we are VERY GOOD TIPPERS ! We both wk in the business. I would love go back but service just killed it for me . GOOD SERVICE GOES A LONG WAY

Do not come in a big group (or during big group times) The food is decent, but the kitchen is just not big enough. We waited over and hour for our brisket plate and after asking about it and waiting an additional 10 minutes we cancelled the order. The whole party was finished eating already. They brought it anyway, and being nice we said put it in a bag. After a while longer we got the check and they charged us for everything. I complained and the manager came over and explained that if we took the food we had to pay for it. In the end I gave him the bagged food and they only charged us for the drinks. The wait staff was nice enough but the establishment is obviously set up for quantity over quality in terms of customer service. I can understand the growing pains but the bad customer service has no excuse. Bigger kitchen and better customer service/resolution please. Also, the beer isnt really cold and the drinks are very "measured". Sorry guys, step up your game if you want our business.

Food was good. Locally sourced. Made from scratch. Went on a Wednesday and there was a DJ and karaoke. Left stuffed. The mashed potatoes were ok. The chicken fried steak was very good. The jalapeño gravy really had jalapeño flavor, not too spicy, but the heat was left in. The fish and chips were very good according to the others in my party. Loved the pretzel. The steak was pricey ~$30 but cooked to perfection and delicious according to my wife. We shared the doughnut holes for dessert. They were pretty good but hard to eat because I didnt save room for dessert. There is a kids menu if you ask your server. Took some leftovers home. The outside patio area looked pleasant and relaxed. I would like to try sitting out there next time. The server said it would take awhile to get our food but it didnt seem to take long at all. Couldve been because it was Wednesday and slow. The front door is on the left (West) side of the building, not the ones in the front.
