Mixed feelings on this. I just went to a museum for $8, and could have spent a half of a day there if I had the time. I went in to this expecting much more, as alluded to in the hand-out, and I saw people with kids cruise through it in maybe 15-20 minutes, which if you are the type who doesnt like to stop to read the fine print, it would very boring. I had to go slow to try to make it worth the twenty bucks. Understand, the artifacts they do have are amazing, (the rooms have artifacts around the walls, and it does have lots of empty space making up their claim for how big it is), but as for the whole package, the "make your flag" turned out to be a few computer terminals at a desk. If I hadnt been to the Alamo, I wouldnt have had a clue what the cannon on the ramp with the rope tied to it sitting in the middle of the floor was for. (You can pull it up the ramp (on its track) a few feet to the wheel stops to simulate the cannon that was moved into the church ruins. And after the artifacts, there is a walk through simulated Alamo ruins, with noises of battle (kinda) appropriate for all family members, nothing scary. Big gift shop at the end, with lots of merchandise. Lists for the artifacts in display cases are just on one side, often not lit, and small print. If there were more visitors, that would have been more of a problem, with two people trying to see the artifacts, it was a pain. Turned out it was an employee I was trying see around to share a list with, on one of the cases. None of the artifacts are labeled, just numbered, and you have to get very close to the list on the wall next to the case with the small print, to search the numbers for the item you are wondering about, and many of the artifacts arent numbered in order, the numbers on the artifacts are small, impossible to see from standing by the list, and some of the lists arent in order either. You have to walk back and forth trying to figure out which item is which. If you are a history nut, the artifacts they do have, are very nice.

This was the biggest rip off my family has ever encountered on a vacation. There was nothing interactive or immersive about the "Experience". We walked through an empty exhibit where there were come artifacts in cases, uniforms and mannequins dressed like Bowie, Travis and Crockett but no actors or enactments at all an a slide/movie wall that was an advertisement for Texas but not educational at all. I would give it minus stars if I could. The real Alamo is right around the corner, a much better experience and its free! At $20 a head dont waste your money. I have no idea how this got a rating of 4.7.

My adult daughter and I visited this museum and it was fantastic! For us being older, Im sure people got a kick out of watching us try to pull the cannon up a slant, or draw a line in the sand, or any of the other fascinating hands on activities offered. Wonderful displays and artifacts. We did a self-walking tour and the ticket employees were very nice and helpful. It was a FUN discovery and we highly recommend it, especially to families with children. We are planning another trip with a son and are going to visit again!

Good military rates, wonderful artifiacts. Bout an hour or so depending on how long you look at each exhibit. Would reccommend to anyone that enjoys history. Its no wonder why Texans are so patroitic towards their state or country depending on whom you ask. Polite, energetic, dedicated, passoniate staff. I was asked twice if there were any questions that I had which sparked into a whole new lesson about the topic. It was almost as though it was a guided tour. This place is great!

Great for history buffs, both the written plaques as well as the interactive ipod made this a unique learning experience. The small screen on the pod can be difficult to use with fat fingers, but all in all well worth it. Save receipt tickets from other things for discounts, go as early as you can.

The artifacts were great, but there were no actors or interactive experiences unless you purchased an app. Very disappointed. If not for the artifacts I would rate this place zero stars, not worth twenty dollars per person.

An incredible hidden experience in San Antonio. I happened to stumble upon it and it turned out to be one of things I most enjoyed on my trip. If you are big history fan you will love this with tons of artifacts on display!

This place is an experience you have to check out for yourself. Its just steps away from the Alamo. Check out the displays and at the end you will feel apart of the Texas History.
