Went to Eclair Bistro tonight for a date night without the kids. I would have given it FIVE stars except for minor things. We started with the bruschette. The toppings were excellent. The only thing we did not like was the bread was grilled not broiled. This caused a burnt taste on the tongue which over powered the delicious toppings. This was followed by the strawberry salad and pear salad. Both were excellent but the pear was slightly disappointing after the strawberry which had a cinnamon dipped drizzle of goat cheese squares that was divine. The crab cake was light and fluffy and it was served on a piece of slate. The beef fillet was cooked perfectly to order and had a variety of sauces on the plate on which to dip the steak as desired. The small bite of of braised rib was mouth watering! We had the sauteed potatoes as a side and the helping was generous. I would have enjoyed a little more side to the filet vs just a varnish since the small bites were packed with flavor and were unique. The cool thing that caught our eyes was the light show on two of the tables where you can do a meal with a "show" throughout. Overall the food and flavor was very good. Weekends they also have a live band which we did not stay for. I would recommend you give this quant place a try on a romantic date night.

I wanted to try Eclair Bistro out with my boyfriend on Valentines Day weekend. We walked in and the hostess told us to go upstairs to the bar area where there would be jazz and we could wait for our table. She never took down a name for us so we wondered when we would be seated. We arrived around 6:30 and asked for a time estimate-- the hostess was very vague and said that there were quite a bit of reservations beginning at 7:00 and couldnt give us a definite wait time. Most of the people there were older than us, in their 40s or 50s. We are a young couple in our 20s. We watched numerous couples (all older) and groups come in after us and get tables. We ended up waiting TWO HOURS and were never seated. No one bothered to check on us. I work in the restaurant business and figured that they were prioritizing older couples because they would pay more. I go to school and came to town specifically for Valentines Day-- we ended up leaving around 9 and went to Genghis Grill instead. My advice: dont come here if youre under 25.

Quality of Food has been incredible the 3 times we have dined there! We were disappointed our second visit as they were out of their most expensive menu item and we were there early in the evening? Third visit, the same thing happened, except this time it was the stuffed chicken entree which two of us wanted to order and it was again early on a Wednesday evening? Also, the same evening, we had to ask for rolls to be brought out, they said they needed to bake some? What? Concerns us they are struggling for business, not very many diners on any of the nights we were there? We pray they stay open, love the atmosphere and the food quality has never been a disappointment!

Tyler was expressive, suggestive and eloquent. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and he portrayed love for his work. Excellent service! The place has a classic feel with a dreamy upstairs Jazz lounge. Food was exquisite and tasted wonderful. The chef is an artist. My fiancee ordered the Shrimp and Crab Crepe and I had The Smoked Salmon. Delish. Dessert was rich in taste and the drinks were carefully made to please the tastebuds. The hostess was very welcoming and heartwarming. Definitively enjoyed her good vibes. 1st class treatment. It was a bit tight in space upstairs, but cozy. We very much enjoyed our visit. My fiancee and I will surely return.

The martini bar upstairs was so disappointing. The so called bartender is NO bartender especially when you have it as PREMADE martini mix - who does that!. And by the way it is shaken, not stirred, when making a martini. Gee everyone KNOWS this. But the MOST IMPORTANT thing is that the bartender is the 1st impression when you go to this place and he was so arrogant. Really makes McKinney seem like a 3rd city despite it growing so fast. So far every business at this location has failed and this will fall in line.

We are so happy to have this fabulous restaurant on the square in downtown McKinney. Truly incredibly fine "grown up" food and atmosphere. Its so nice to go to a restaurant where there are no TVs or bands, and the waiters are appropriate and well-spoken. The salmon is literally perfect, and the ribeye is the best we have ever had. We also have enjoyed the Crepe Lasagna, and the pineapple bread pudding! Pre-meal cheese puff bread will make your day!

Absolutely wonderful. Definitely one of the top 1 or 2 restaurants in McKinney. . Crab cakes perfect. Steak is one the best in McKinney if not the best. The steak is in the same class as RIcks It was unbelievable. My wife had the pear salad and I had the spinach with strawberries salad. Both were excellent. Bread pudding was different than most. It was more moist with a lot of sweet sauce. If you have a sweet tooth, you will love it.

Very much enjoyed this place. The food was expertly prepared and specially chosen for taste and look. Its the kinda thing you just dont easily replicate at home. Staff are friendly and enjoy their work, atmosphere is calm and quite. The jazz bar upstairs is a great after dinner option! The price reflects the quality of the food and atmosphere be prepared to shell it out. Great for special date nights.

EClair is an upscale restaurant in downtown McKinney. Service & food are on point. We have eaten there a few times for dinner. We recommend making reservations to ensure you get your preferred time to dine. We love the blue lights they have inside. Can be romantic too. Highly recommended for a nice occasion. The in house smoked salmon is delicious!!! It is a family owned restaurant! :)

This is by far the best food I have had in the Dallas area. I love the duck, it is simply amazing. My husband tried the steak burger right after they added to the menu, and it was amazing. I also love the white chocolate cheesecake, so delicious. The service is great! We have spoken with the owner both times we have gone, and all the workers are very kind and professional.

One of the best meals I have had in a while! I think this will be our favorite place for a long time to come... We highly recommend the Brie, Artichoke and Hens Egg Tart, the Filet Oscar and Boeuf Bourguignon. Everything was excellent and cooked to perfection. The Chocolate Eclair was worth every calorie! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Im blown away by all of the levels of commitment that the people of Eclair demonstrate. Their menu is superb from the appetizers all the way to the desserts (which of course are made in house!) The quality extends well past their food though as they strive to support the art of live jazz. A fine establishment through and through!
