About a year or so ago I went to Cle after reading a lot of bad reviews because the pictures and ambiance looked nice, and I dont want to judge a place totally based on what other people say, as their experience may have been different. I get there, dressed in nice slacks, dress shoes, and a button up shirt. But Im immediately asked when I get to the entrance to stand to the side. I say to myself, ok no biggie, they are probably just letting everyone in a few at a time like a lot of places do. But then, the doorman repeatedly lets in person after person and group after group which were also all non black and mostly female, and greets them with smiles, hugs, and handshakes. But again I tell myself no biggie. He eventually has to let me in, especially since Im the only one waiting and there is no line. I waited there for about 30 minutes, and during that time at least 20 people were let in. It became clear to me what was going on, and I only waited that long in hopes that they would prove me wrong in what I was assuming. But unfortunately they didnt. At that point I had enough and left, probably to the delight of the doorman as it seemed like that was the overall intent. To make me wait until I eventually gave up. I left Cle that night very disappointed, but at no fault of anyone except my own as I read the reviews but did not heed the warning. Fast forward to today. Earlier in the week a friend of mine who is a food critic and writer for the Houston area, invited me to Cle as he was going to be hosting. At first thought I told myself, I dont want to go back there. But then I thought, maybe I should give it another chance. Maybe things are different, maybe Ill have a different experience since this time I actually know and was invited by the host right? Heck, I even told myself, if this experience is better, I may even consider hosting here soon for my business and network of local business owners and creators. I get there, and the entrance is actually roped off. The officer at the entrance says the doorman will be back in a few minutes. There was a few others waiting outside with me also. The doorman comes, and immediately starts letting the others in. When it got to me, he asked who did I work for or was with. I told him my friends name, and he tells me that he has already reached his limit of guest. I told him that I was only one person and I was invited. He responded, "there has been at least 10 people that have already come in using his name and were only one person and he has reached his max, you gotta have some girls or something with you or I cant let you in." All the while others are being let in left and right. All non black except one very attractive female. When you are hosting, since when are you only allowed about 10 guest? Or do you mean a certain "kind" of guest? Thats beyond me. One group of 4 walk up and use my friends name, and they were let right in without questioning. Again non black. I call my friend, and he says that he isnt at his limit and the doorman has been giving many of his guest a hard time. He tries to send someone to let me in, but the establishment would not let him do anything. Im standing there saying to myself you gotta be kidding me that this is happening again. At that point I dont even want to go anymore. Apparently Cle does not want me to spend my money there, and for that reason I wont. I wont get into a rant about race or ask for sympathy. All I can do is spend my money elsewhere as there are several places in Houston where there is a far greater experience to be had. Im simply writing this to inform others of my experience so they can decide for themselves if this is a place they want to visit. Have a nice day.

Even after cooling off for two days, Im still furious at the mistreatment endured trying to see Adventure Club at this garbage place. If not provably blatantly racist, they are at the very least running a scam, purposely selling more tickets than they ever plan on honoring. One rude bouncer told me that we could not get in, despite having tickets, because they were at capacity WHILE he was letting in other people. Another rude bouncer physically pushed my boyfriend and me aside to make room to park cars who were just arriving, again while they were supposedly at capacity. We left after an hour of waiting and seeing that they had not admitted a single person in the general admission line. We heard later that Adventure Club had threatened to leave and Cle finally let in everyone that had been waiting for hours outside. Obviously they were never at capacity, but were just refusing to honor tickets on, what looked to be, the basis of race. Do not waste your time, energy or money at this place. I certainly never plan to spend a penny here again no matter who is playing and hope to not give this racist place another spare second of thought.

So lame. The first time we went we got in, pretentious door man, but we cant say we were impressed. People said its a Vegas like club but I go to Vegas 3x a year and its not at all like one, aside from the desire to make people wait. Cle is small, there are no bar seats, they ask you to go online and request a table via FB (so they can see your pic but they never call back...and the comments are true, they discriminate)...they are more concerned with if you are Black, Asian, or Hispanic. This aint Vegas or Miami ...its Houston. Ill never go back. We were ready to spend money, $40 Valet, bottle service, and arrived early and a pretty good looking group! Oh well. Money spent else where. Done with Cle. I honestly hope Houston shows them this is not going to be tolerated. Go spend your money at one of Houstons other fine night clubs, have more fun, with far better music and reasonably priced bottle service.

First of all I will start off by saying I go to Vegas every year and always go to different clubs. This wanna be Vegas club is trash. The day I went they didnt even have someone famous, just some rich guy that has Instagram followers "a nobody." We were willing to pay at the door, and they obviously do not want money because they said you have to buy the tickets online. Haha I thought they must not want to make money. I went on a Sunday and it looked dead with plenty of parking. What a wack want to be exclusive club that will never be as big as they want to be. Beware of their false advertisement on Instagram because that pool they have look like its meant to be a kiddy pool. Never again will I waste my time in this club that will never be apar a Vegas Club. Talk about the worst bouncers. So thank the bouncers for throwing away money you could have made off of us!

A joke. Walked over yesterday evening. Heard it was a nice club, but a pain in the ass to deal with, gave it a shot anyway. Live a few blocks away. Asked for a table, the black door guard, let me repeat door guard , to a club, congrats your family must be very impressed, told me he is full no room, obvious lie. I was with 4 girls. Ubered to Iah, had plane hours so flew into mcCarran. Now on runway back as a write this. Step your game up clay or cle as you would like to be pronounced. I give you another year tops. Be more welcome to people or atleast deny them with respect, and for god sakes fire your doorman. I could have tossed him to the side like a little kid. Remember your pontential clients are your lifeblood. Keep it up if you want to be another 1 hit wonder. I hope this provides some input. Thanks Tony
