I absolutely love this place!! I wish more people in the DFW metro, knew about this hidden gem! LOCATION-Ennis, TX is a VERY short drive. The theatre is so easy to find. Literally, a straight drive - South on I-45 from my location. It took me exactly 35 minutes on a Saturday night (42 miles) from my area North Mesquite/ Sunnyvale (Beltline & Northwest Drive) on a Friday night it took 45 minutes, on a Tuesday night, it took 38 minutes. Very close, very easy drive, for hours of affordable entertainment. OHH, and they also have a mini golf in the front of the theatre. Also, swings, slides, small playground inside the theatre area. *****IMPORTANT TOPIC I NEED TO SHARE***** UNFORTUNATELY OVER THE YEARS, HORRIBLE, IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE.- HAVE DROPPED OFF THEIR PETS, JUST LEAVING THEM AT THE DRIVE-IN!!! BEAUTIFUL, INNOCENT, SCARED, ALONE, CATS, DOGS, KITTENS, BIRDS, ETC... ☆☆☆*PLEASE, PLEASE, READ AT BOTTOM OF MY COMMENT..*☆☆☆ All of the employees are energetic, professional and super friendly! The snack bar has very large menu, full of freshly made items. Honestly, I was pleased and shocked how great the food was! Cheaper than any movie theatre! IMHO, the Burgers [$3.00 ] are the best. A burger combo meal with drink and fries only - $8.00! The restrooms are clean too. ***Tip***(bring a flashlight for walking to restrooms and snack bar. The parking lot is very dark during movie viewing and lots of loose gravel) The entire location is kept very clean. The employees really take great care of this theatre. You will see them Constantly, sweeping, picking up trash, helping customers. movie screens are huge and very clear. The parking is elevated like speed bumps You can use their speaker (hanging on poles next in parking spots) or tune your vehicles stereo to the station # they provide. We opted for the in car stereo. (I recommend tuning your car stereo to the staion # the give you) The sound is great! Just like surround sound at an indoor theatre. Any FM stereo will be great. The station they provide, is DTS surround sound. If you have a truck, its great to bring bankets & pillows, laying in the truck bed, watching movies- under the stars. ***tip***To any "star gazer enthusiasts" (like my nerdy self) Bring a telescope/ binoculars, you can clearly see the stars, planets, & meterors PERFECTLY! Ennis is far enough from the city lights, to provide perfect dark sky! I saw some famlies bringing lawn chairs/ folding chairs, setting them up next to their vehicles- in case your car gets cramped. Best CHEAP DATE NIGHT, OR CHEAP FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT! Oh, and they are open 7 days a week. ☆☆☆☆PLEASE READ ALL ANIMAL LOVERS☆☆☆☆☆ Sadly, irresponsible people, have dumped their poor fur babies at the drive in. The loving, caring employees have been feeding these beautiful animals with money out of their own pockets. The snack bar employees are amazing and so caring! These beautiful cats, dogs, kittens, some birds, NEED GOOD, SAFE, FOREVER HOMES. PLEASE, PLEASE, WHEN YOU GO TO THE DRIVE IN, Please HELP DONATE, bring cat food, dog food, Any type of feeding bowls, water bowls, old blankets, , old towels, dog houses, Igloos, XL dog crates, SHELTER FOR THE DOGS AND CATS, AND IF YOU CAN OFFORD TO DONATE - PLEASE BRING MONEY $$$ TO THE SNACK BAR. TELL THEM ITS FOR THE ANIMALS. THEY WILL BE SOO GRATEFUL. THE GIRLS THERE TAKE CARE OF THESE ANIMALS 7 DAYS A WEEK***** *****bring cat food: Big bags of Dry food, canned cat food, water bowls, any type of shelter, dog igloos, dog houses, XL dog crates, old blankets, old towels, bedding, any extra cat related items**** ♡♡♡PLEASE HELP THESE INNOCENT FUR BABIES, WINTER IS COMING SOON! THEIR OWNERS DIDNT CARE, SO SOMEONE HAS TO HELP THEM!! PAY IT FORWARD, GOOD KARMA COMES BACK TO YOU THREE FOLD. GOD LOVES ALL CREATURES.♡♡♡

Just a great place to enjoy an evening double feature at a laughably reasonable price! The guys who run this place obviously really appreciate and enjoy the drive-in concept. You can tell from the little touches including the primitive, but enjoyable miniature golf course out in front to the excellent vintage animated feature "count-down" films before the movie. Expect to see lots of fun, cheezy snack-bar ads. Ennis, itself is kinda in the middle of nowhere, which for drive-in purposes is a good thing. Theres very little light pollution near the theater, making the on-screen images bright and clear. Meanwhile, the surly, but highly efficient projectionist industriously trudging back and forth between projection huts does a meticulous, craftsman-like job at keeping each screen in focus and correctly aligned. Please dont bother the man, though. Hes very busy. The snack-bar, itself has a nice selection of movie junk foods. The pop-corn was fresh, and the hot dogs were cheap and tasty. You can get ice cream. You can get pizza. Such a deal! Folks show up with lawn chairs and camp in front of their cars. Groups of Harleys show up to enjoy the show. It doesnt matter if theyre wearing business suits or leather chaps, its a big group of nice people having a good time outside watching Hollywoods latest sometimes questionable effort. They even cheerfully put up with the idiot (me) who accidentally set off his own car alarm after returning from the snack bar, loaded up with a Tommy Chong-load of pop-corn, dogs, soda and candy. Hint: If you used the key button radio thingy to lock the car, dont try to open the door, later, by shoving the key in the keyhole! Use the radio button, or taste the joking wrath of your neighbors! Lots of thanks to the guys and gals who run this place. They do a great job! Ive been to a lot of drive-ins. I travel a lot and always try to check out the local survivors, and the majority of them obviously dont have the flair for it, like these people do. Nobody will ever get rich running a drive-in, so you have to love doing it, or why bother?

It is outdated but I love it. Gives it that old school feel. The restroom needs some serious cleaning and remodeling, but over all I go back. My husband and I always go with our dogs and we walk around before the movie starts. Very family friendly. Snack bar is what keeps it going so we always make it a point to buy. Went and saw Wonder Woman with family opening night and we bought a Pepperoni Pizza, 2 Cheese Burgers with lettuce tomatoes and onions, 2 fries, 1 large drink, 1 Texas size drink, cotton candy, bottle water, funnel cake, 2 nachos with jalapeños, and a bag of skittles came out to maybe $40. So it is not over priced. They are true to their word. Open rain or shine. Was raining bad on the way there, we drive from Arlington. Thought for sure they would not open. But by the time the movie started at 9 it cleared up and we watched the movie. Parking can be difficult but we always make it a point to get there early because we drive a small car and want to see over the big trucks. Navigating the screen selection in and out of the park can be a challenge however just dont speed like a bat out of hell and you wont have a accident driving in or out. They do tell you on the previews to exit to your right so you dont run into people. You listen to the movies through your own radio station even though they still have the old school sound boxes. So as long as you have working speakers in your car you just tune in to the station in your ticket or the sign at the bottom left of the screen and you are good. They also show the station on the screen before movies as well. The snack bar can have a wait if it is a nice night out however if you get there early enough you dont have to wait. Or you can just be patient. After all they are not McDonalds or Burger King. It is out dated, very small and the food is not the greatest but it is not over priced. We try not to go to the snack bar while the movie is going because you WILL miss a lot of the movie because of the wait. And please pick up after your dogs if you take them, as well as yourself. They have trash cans all over the parking lots.
