My family and I were visiting not long ago, what we experienced was utter shame on the museums security. I didnt know that when you enter the building that we would have a security officer be at our side the whole time telling us what to do and how to look at the art. Im a very detailed person when I look at art and or photographs. As I got closer to look at the work, the woman security officer yelled at me that if I got any closer that two feet of the piece that she would have me thrown out or arrested. I didnt know that couldnt enjoy our visit but to be spoken to like child or criminal, that drew the line. I told the "Rent-A-Cop" that if she didnt step back from my personal space, that she would need to have her supervisor handle the matter. When I asked her who her supervisor is, she told us that "she is" the supervisor and her rules apply. We will never return to this half-wit museum. What a shame as well, it has some potential of being better than it is now.

A great facility where beauty is exhibited in the form of art. Several weeks I had a question pertaining to public art; therefore, I visited the museum. A knowledgeable person was not available at the moment, and I was given a business card in return. Then, my messages left in the administrations voice mail were not returned which led me to return to the building once again. Finally, I was pointed to the department that could provide me with a response to my question.

Fairly small, they seem to focus mainly on classical art. Its not exactly my taste, but if you enjoy that then this would definitely be a good stop. I feel that they could use more modern art, but what little they have is very nice. They have a few sculptures in the upper level that are very interesting and make for very good photographs.

The El Paso Museum of Art is simply amazing. The facility is beautiful, the artwork is exceptional, and it is an absolutely a joy for El Paso Pro-Musica to collaborate with the EPMA each year in January for Bachs Lunch. January, 2017 will feature some of the finest musical artists in the world for Free concerts every Thursday at Noon!

I took my daughter to the El Paso Museum of Art and she was so intrigued by all the different types of artwork there were including all the different exhibits they had available for us to see. She and I both loved it! If youve never been please go it is definitely worth it.

This museum is great! The EPMA features local artists and has a large space for temporary exhibits. It also has many permanent works from a wide range of time periods, styles and countries. The museum offers classes & programs for kids. AND, get this, its free!

Visited El Paso Museum of Art. It houses a permanent collection of more than 6,000 works of art. Liked the European Collection Renaissance and Mexican colonial art and retablos from the southwestern United States and Mexico. Had a great time here. ****

Nicely air conditioned, clean, and quiet. Free admission and friendly staff. Obviously cannot bring food, drink, or take any photos in the building. We brought strollers and they allowed closed water bottles for kids!
