Terrible experience. I took my two young children and was treated like we were not welcome. I was teaching my children to not touch the exhibits and helping them keep their hands away. They were being very well behaved and quiet and I was watching them closely. We were yelled at by one of the workers, followed closely around the room and were told we needed to leave because my daughter put one of her fingers on one of the stands. The worker girl basically just did not want us there because she thought my well behaved children were going to ruin all the art exhibits just because they were looking at them closely. We will not be back again. Children and families are definitely not welcome. So if youre looking for a cool learning experience for your children, go anywhere but this museum because you will probably be told to leave if your child breathes within a foot of an exhibit.

I cant believe what transpired with Jake Garn and the SLAC. Totally unacceptable and as a military officer who has supported the United States in just about every major event (war) in the last 24 years I ask you to avoid this center due to its suppression of art based on one persons temper and attempt to control their little piece of the world solely on a childish approach to management.

Very friendly staff although the content delivered is far from what we could expect from a big city modern art museum. It does feel like the artists exhibited are trying a bit too hard to be edgy & controversial instead of creating art. Still interesting nonetheless, especially considering that it is free. Loved the feathers display, it felt more real than the rest

I was very disappointed by the "art" displayed at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art on my visit in early March. The largest, most prominently displayed pieces were pornographic. The rest of the displays had little-to -no aesthetic qualities and appeared to be considered art because of their SJW message. I should have done my homework before going here.

The staff are professional and helpful. I found only one or two of the exhibits interesting. I understand that this is a contemporary art museum, however most of the exhibits were unintelligible, I feel that more could be done to utilize this space to Contemporary are that educates and inspires.

The museum is large, but the exhibits are small and reminiscent of freshman art class. Two of the twenty exhibits made me pause in satisfaction, but most were too focused on trying to be "edgy" or make a political statement than capture any appreciation of life, art, or society.

Its a decent / ok museum. There was 1 exhibit worth viewing (exhibits will change) of the 4 there. All the exhibits are inside small spaces. If you dont expect too much, then you might find a few things you will enjoy. Their recommended donation is $5 per person.

I like contemporary art. This museum just doesnt deliver much. Also (not related to art), while Im not against gender-neutral restrooms. tossing a trash bag over the urinal and slapping a new sign on the door flies in the face of common sense and aesthetic sensibility.

Very few exhibits to see. Not well thought out, most artwork was lesser quality than that of my nine-year-old. Very amateurish. I can see more artful videos on YouTube by much more talented individuals. I paid the $5 per person donation, but it wasnt worth 5 cents.

In transition between exhibits, so the place felt uninspired and really dead. Need to give them another chance, though. Its the kind of place that I want to like because of the need. Having said that, I havent had a good experience there yet. Maybe next time.

Extremely disappointing. I was shocked by how few pieces were on display; and the few that are were unexceptional and lacked creativity. Quite frankly, Im unsure if any of the pieces could be considered art at all.

I am happy that Salt Lake Art Center is here in Utah. When I see an exhibit there, I walk away thinking about the art for weeks. This last summers miniature golf exhibit will forever be imprinted in my memory.

Art is in the eye of the beholder. It was interesting. Worst part is that it was really warm. Best part was the staff was friendly and informative. $5 minimum donation suggested.

Nice location. Exhibits change, but theres always going to be something worth seeing (or something super strange that youll try to forget). Definitely will go again.

Brought my grand daughter over for Saturday activity. She had a great time making a sculpture. The people were very friendly I would recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing building, thoughtful exhibitions, friendly people. Should be bigger. Whats cool is that its free (if you are in a pinch, but they ask for donations).

Wonderfully curated museum. If youre looking for something modern and less traditional, this is your place.

Complete waste of time I gave it one star because it was free although they do ask for donations

Rating mostly for the building and staff. Just not enough right now to warrant a visit IMO.
