Wasnt so much a fan of the little plastic linked chairs for seating, nor the lack of an inclination with them going back so people in the back can see the stage (although, i realize this is why you have a screen), NOR how insanely close the chairs themselves (you can literally feel every single tiny movement of anyone in your row) and the ROWS are to one another (darned kid behind me would NOT stop kicking my chair despite both mine and my fathers plea for him to stop. His tiny, little legs should not have normally been able to reach me). I am a very tiny person myself, but even I felt the need to get up and stand in the aisle to let someone pass by me to get to their seat as there was not enough room to shift past without climbing on peoples laps. Also, I dont know what was going on, but the whole last half of the show, there were loud noises that sounded like someone was beating the heck out of some ice. It was horribly obnoxious. ALSO, there was a lot of confusion as not only the Facebook event page and other sites, but THEIR OWN WEBSITE stated that the time of the show was 6pm. The printed out ticket was the ONLY thing that said 7pm (which was the actual time of the show). The only things I liked were Michael Carbanero (who we went to see) and the parking garage lady.

So here is my take on 20 Monroe Live Locations: The venue is in a great location. Lots to do in the area before and after the show. Music: The acoustics in the building are good. The band I saw sounded good from where I was standing. Facilities: The venue itself is kind of boring. No personality. Restrooms are on the second floor which is kind of ridiculous. From what it looked like some areas of the balcony seating might have an obstructed view. I am not sure how full the GA Floor gets on a sold out night, but once again there is a change for some obstructed views there as well. Drinks: Were outrageously priced...... even for a music venue. Security: I read a lot of reviews about security being overbearing and I am confused by that. I barely saw security and they were not very on point There was a fight in the crowd and I saw one guy head (from FOH) towards it while multiple other security staff members ran upstairs and then subsequently ran back downstairs to where the original issue was. The crowd had the issue resolved long before security even got to the area. Conclusion: I have been to Live Nation Venues before that I have enjoyed, but I feel like this one missed the mark.

The security at this venue is all sorts of backwards. Upon entering, myself and belongings were thoroughly searched. Which is entirely expected at a venue so I have no issue with that, but it was what happened after I was already inside the venue for a good twenty minutes that is upsetting. A security guard walked around the crowd and singled out women with purses that did not meet their criteria for entrance to the venue. She had a half a piece of paper and if any bag was larger than that she said its not allowed. My options at this point were to check my bag in or she could try to see if I could come back into the venue if I went back to my car. I dont understand how a venue can allow you through security, which the guard held that same size paper up to my purse and said I was okay, but then later find me in the crowd and tell me its not allowed. The venue looks nice inside and sounds great, but the bathroom layout was poorly designed. If you are handicap you better hope the elevator doesnt break because the two bathrooms for the venue are on the second floor.

I wanted to email you direct, but you do not share your contact information on your website. I bought my tickets for Volbeat back in March right after they went on sale to be sure I purchased a good seat. The seats are purchased were lower balcony, Row AA seats 1 & 2, these came up as best available. Let me tell you these were the worst seats. The speakers hang down so far, they completely obstruct the view of the concert. I could see the drummer and that was about it. If I hanged the concrete wall, I could see a little better. Also about 5 feet behind me is general admission. These folks paid $50 less per ticket to stand in almost the same spot. It is so thick with people that you cant make your way down the main isle to even get to the seats, not to mention all the drinks they spill right over you! You should either relocate your speakers or change this to a non-premium seat for a lot less money. I truly hope you take this to your engineers. I spend lots of money going to concerts, but will be re-thinking attending your venue.

Went to see Midget Wrestling with my husband, was so excited for this event!! We get there and its almost $10 for a small drink with half a shot. Go to find our seats and they tell us that we cant sit down!! No one can sit down but there is over 100 empty seats! Our seat number happened to be one of them but were asked to stand anyway. Since everyone is standing it was extremely hard to see, we had to hold our phones above everyones head and watch the wrestling through our cameras. Everyone that we spoke to there was not happy with the seat situation either and when asking employees why we couldnt sit no one would give us an answer. Finally intermission comes around and we havent enjoyed our night even the slightest bit so we decided to leave as did many other people. It was definitely a waste of a night out going here and I do not want to return. If I pay for seat and am given a seat number then I should be able to sit down but apparently at 20 Monroe thats not how things work.

On my second beer of the night, my gf accidently knocked my beer out of my hand while not paying attention. Out of nowhere a venue worker came rushing up to her and asked her for her ID. Without questioning she handed over her license and the worker took off. She didnt return for almost a half hour, when she came back she informed my gf that she was cut off and would be removed from the venue if caught drinking again. Funny getting cut off after three small and very overpriced beers. The best part about it was the fact the spilled beer remained on the floor in a puddle the entire time and wasnt cleaned up until after the worker came back with the ID. So when the kid overdosing during all this was being escorted out in a wheelchair, while convulsing, was pushed through the puddle and the staff rushing him out were slipping in it I couldnt help but think they were very disorganized and beyond rude. Never going back.

Went to a dropkick murphys show... There were a few dudes throwing people up to crowd surf... I wasnt even paying attention to them, next thing I know they are tossing me up. When I got to the front security violently dragged me to the side doors and literally threw me outside. They locked the doors behind me. Tried to go to the main entrance I explained my situation...the security there were assholes to and said it was my fault. My phone was dead couldnt call a cab or my friends ended up walking 2hrs in the rain home. Drinks were like $15. No bathroom on the main floor. Place is a joke. Never will I see a show there again. I should get a refund since I only got to see 2 songs of the set. But it will probably never happen.
