I love this venue for a Rock Concert! There are so few places left in DFW that cater to the true Rock experience. American Airlines Center and AT&T Cowboys Stadium are big, flashy, and air conditioned, but they are horrible places to watch a Rock concert because the accoustics are not very good and the whole experience is completely stripped down to nothing more than the corporate commercialization of your favorite band. Gexa does not shut down its concessions too early either. You can buy a bottle of water or whatever as your leaving the pavillion after the concert is over. You would think that is common sense. Why would you stop selling $5 bottles of water to concert goers with a 450% profit on every bottle sold, but just a few nights ago, my family and I were priveldged to witness Guns & Roses put on an absolute clinic of Rock. They were incredible! The only draw back was that it took place at Cowboys Stadium. Axel and Slash played their souls out on that stage until nearly 1 am. That would have been even more amazing had all the concessions not shut down at 9:55 - 10pm on the dot. Jerry Jones and his stadium left tens of thousands of people without any food or water for nearly 3 hours during a Rock concert. Why? We all know how much Jerry loves gouging the general public. Well not to worry patrons of Rock. Gexa Energy Pavillion will never abandon your concession needs. Not to mention the quality of concessions are much better than the luke-warm, stale garbage they served at the "Jerry World" concert experience. Dont get me wrong, both arenas are amazing for watching professional sports games, but stick to sports. Leave Rock concerts to Rock venues. Even Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers stopped mid performance and asked the entire American Airlines Center audiance, "Does anyone remember the Bronco Bowl?" I knew exactly what he meant and knowing what a passionate Rock music purist Flea is, I felt a deep saddness at the gravity of his simple remark. Having seen them a few times at the Bronco Bowl, there was definitely a major difference in the energy of those raw performances, and the highly commercialized performance I was witnessing that evening. Support your Rock venues people. KEEP ROCK ALIVE! The only thing keeping me from giving Gexa 5 stars is all the rock concerts except for "BFD" were booked in August/September and there is no air conditioning. Oh well, the sweat of the mob just adds to the Rock experience, I guess.

I attended a concert on August 20 for Deftones & Incubus with my cousin. We were originally seated in section 202, once there we upgraded to premium seats. We ordered drinks and enjoyed the show once Deftones played we decided to close the tab. The waitress, MARSHA, then proceeded to charge my cousins card then she said it declined. He then checked his balance to make sure the funds were available and there was more then enough to pay the tab. MARSHA then went on to try the card again, and again she said it declined. She then offered to go out from under the pavilion to get better reception to which we agreed seeing as our phones where also acting up. She returned about 15 or 20 minutes later and again she said it declined. She then told us if we wanted to get cash from the ATM my cousin then left to get the cash and I waited in my seat about 5 minutes later I was approached by a female and a male worker asking to see my ticket because there "was nothing in the system" for the seats we were sitting at. I showed them the tickets and upgrade receipt. Once they saw I paid for my seats and upgrade they left. I suppose they thought we were trying to run some kind of scam? Either way what kind of system doesnt show someone bought a seat?? They sure as hell took the $170 out of my account as fast as they could! My cousin then returned and asked Marsha how much the bill was again she said it was 85 dollars so he paid her cash. The whole thing was such a big inconvenience that we left 2 songs into Incubus. The next day my cousin received an email from his bank because of "suspicious activity". Turns out Marsha swiped the card 20 plus times while we were there on the 20th, then some how charged the card again the 21st AND the 22nd! And the actual tab was only 74.50 not 85 like she told my cousin so not only was the card charged over 20 times she also gave herself a $10.50 tip! Such a ridiculous end to what was suppose to be a fun evening. I seriously doubt I would ever go back after such an awful experience!

Not a good greeting to start my concert experience off to. I made a sign with the help of friends for a he Gwen Stefani concert last night. I am in line to get my bag checked & myself metal detected. With my poster board in hand, the event staff told me I couldnt bring it in! Wth?! The sign at the gate said nothing about not bringing in poster boards. I saw it said no outside food, drinks, chairs, etc. No where do I see in that list poster boards. I was not given a reason why I couldnt bring it in, just that I couldnt. When I made a surprised & shocked face, the event staff lady told me I had to tear it into 4 pieces to bring it in! Im sorry but we worked hard on it & there was no way I was going to do that. So I just left it with them on top of the trash can. It baffled me that others could bring in blankets but I couldnt bring in my sign. BTW Gwen has been known to post on social media that she loves her fans to make signs & even brings some of them on stage. Any way, I tried not to let that experience ruin my concert experience with Gwen because she was the only reason I was at Gexa in the 1st place. Ohhhh & if signs are out of the question, please tell me why I see many others holding up signs for her when she gets on stage? Very unfair in my opinion! If I could rate Gexa zero stars, I would! Great way to make your customers never want to come back again & spread the word about your sign enforcement. Or was their really any no sign policy?!!! Didnt look like it to me. Great way to treat a customer who is spending $140+ for the ticket & refreshments at the venue! Sincerely- Disgruntled & upset concert goer

Positive: Overall, the bands were great and the venue was very organized in the beginning for the most part and there were tons of places throughout to bug band merch and refreshments. Negative: Theres only one real negative and it was a pretty big one to me. So, one of my favorite bands ended their segment saying they would sign albums for anyone that bought one later. So naturally I went to the nearest spot to buy one. The CD ended up being $40 being that they were to be autographed. The lady told us that we had to be on the other side of the venue after the show was over to see the band so we could get the album signed. So we made our way back in for the next band and listened to a few songs and then decided to make our way over to the other side just in case there was a line. Well, we showed up and couldnt find them anywhere and found a few others searching around with us. We asked a worker there and he told us that the band had finished signing albums a LONG time ago and that he was "sorry". Naturally, I was really upset being that this was one of my favorite bands and I had just paid $40 for a $15 album. If it wasnt for the woman telling us to wait after the show for signatures, I couldve had a very nice souvenir and a bunch of memories to go with it. Basically, I wouldnt listen to directions from the vendors, just do what you think you need to do, especially if you want your $40 album to be signed.
