Terrible. My experience was so bad Im actually leaving a review for it. Never have I ever been so disrespected. I was told upon entry that I needed to remove my hat... No big deal right? I take my hat off, once I get inside girls are walking around with hats on... So Im like okay if theyre able to do that why cant I? I put my hat back on, immediately a security guard comes up and asks me to remove it, I told him I have no problem taking it off but why are other women able to wear theirs and I cant? So the guard says okay if you point them out Ill tell them the same thing.. But I guess that wasnt really the point.. It seems theyre really agressive when a guy does it but once a girl who dressed provocatively does it no one says anything. Regardless of that, I decided this wasnt the place to be I told my friends I was leaving and as I was walking out I was grabbed by a guy that told me "You need to take your hat off or get out of my bar" .. Now I didnt want any trouble but at the same time you dont just grab someone, especially someone who paid good money to be there. I told him to get his hands off of me and that I was leaving anyway. I get outside and he makes it seem as though I got kicked out or something. He told me to keep walking and to stay out.. So I told him not to get mad at me because I punked him while we were in the bar. We exchange words and I walked off but I feel like someone who waits in line, pays a cover, follows a dress code, only to end up in a bar were people are bumping into you, while waiting 20 minutes to get a drink, and constantly having run ins with security.. Well I just feel like they would be treated better. I dont want to bring race into it despite people saying this place is racist, but theyre definitely sexist. I just wanted to go out and have a good time but instead I had to deal with that. This place has lost my business for good.

Went to the Hive for my brothers birthday, to hang out and dance, but we were turned away because my black husband wasnt wearing a belt...which you couldnt even see, and despite the fact that he was dressed in nearly the same outfit as my white brother. No one asked the white guy if he was wearing a belt. We then witnessed multiple people with no belts, sagging pants, and far more casual clothing than my husbands Gap / Banana Republic sweater, collared shirt and jeans being let in. To top it off, Jake the owner decided to come out and start an argument with us. Zero customer service. Total racism. And there were people of all colors in the establishment but we could tell while standing near the line that black people were held to a higher standard. Unacceptable. There are many places to give your money that do not support this intolerance in the Omaha area.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. The way that the owner and bouncers treat people is infuriating. They question "certain people" but allow others to walk in without question. My cousin was turned away last night because he did not have on a belt (he was not sagging), but others were let in without a belt and sagging. When they questioned about the dress code, the owner came out and mocked him. My cousin is black and there is pictures of him side by side, dressed the same as another male who is white that was not questioned and turned away. The owner turned off reviews on the Facebook page because people were telling their bad experiences with the owner, bouncers, and all over establishment.

Used to be a spot that I hit up on a regular basis. However after awhile it got pretty old having to pay $5 for entry while women got in for free. Place is also usually very smelly and the bathroom line was ridiculously long (and this was to the male bathroom). Ive never seen a place where the male-line is longer than the female-one. Ive also had times where I was denied entry due to having a passport from another country as my valid ID (I lost my drivers license and was waiting to get a new one). Based on the stigma and the other reviews, Im almost certain that this bar is discriminatory. If thats your thing, by all means support this establishment.

This place has no defined dress code and they use that as cover to discriminate against minorities. When my friend was trying to get answers as to why her African American husband was not permitted in, the owner Jake Gardner came out and was extremely rude and mocked them, as did his staff. This place is owned, managed by and employs racist jerks. When we complained on his Facebook wall, he turned off reviews and deleted them. Prior to him turning off comments I read several other complaints of similar behavior. Their ambiguous "dress code" is subjective at best. RUDE STAFF, RUDE OWNER, TRASHY PEOPLE! DO NOT GO TO THIS AWFUL, SECOND RATE TRASH BOX.

I was told my pants are too low, despite wearing a belt and being unable to raise them any higher. I didnt even want to bother trying to raise my pants any higher just to appease them, so I just went across the street to the Parliament Pub instead. Im a straight white male, so I cant really blame racism in this case. I guess they just didnt want my patronage for reasons unknown. I hope this place goes bankrupt within the next few years; with bouncers like that it shouldnt take too long.

Racism is alive and well at The Hive! Complete with an arbitrary dress code that is clearly based more on skin color than actual articles of clothing, rude bouncers, and an even more disgraceful owner, Jake Gardner, who not only supports the racist discretion of his employees but encourages it by coming outside to further antagonize the people that are being told they arent allowed in. I will not support this establishment and its hateful believes and actions.

One of my favorite bar to go to! it is a safe environment for all and the owner has never once been an advocate for violence against any person, trans or not. He just built a new bathroom for women and is turning the old bathroom into an all inclusive bathroom for anyone who wants to use it! Drinks are priced fairly and the owner is there every Friday and Saturday if anyone ever wants to talk to him and know the true story.

Nobody yell fire in this place because no less than 100 people are going to get trampled. Additionally, several anti gay remarks were made to my boyfriend and I who were holding hands simply to find our way out without being separated. Are you 100% hetero and insecure about it? Do you feel the need to be crushed against walls? Then this place is for you.

I wish there was a zero star button. This place is a place filled with bigotry and hate. They used to have signs advertising that it was a "Safe Place" but after the owner went on social media and was hateful to the trans community, it really showed the true colors of how they really feel. I wouldnt recommend anyone go here as a SERIOUS safety concern.
