Sumner Crest Winery is A JOKE! A staff member actually said, "This wine taste a lot like Welches Grape Juice." For starters, if we wanted Welches, we would have purchased it from the gas station located in the parking lot. Outside of wine from Sumner Crest, we are firm believers that the staff at Sumner Crest had only tasted Boones Farm or MD 20/20 prior to being hired. All of the wines at this vineyard tasted like Kool-Aid with to much sugar. If you DO NOT have a pallet, you will love this miserable excuse of a vineyard. How this place has not gone bankrupt is beyond us! We regret not doing further research on this vineyard prior to inviting our guest to this establishment. We purchased a bottle of their wine simply to be respectful; however, if littering where legal in Tennessee we would have thrown it out the car window as soon as we left the parking lot. We now have a s#itty bottle of wine decorating our wine rack that neither of us intend on drinking! ARRINGTON RULES!

Dear Rob...go on back to where you came from. Your kind isnt wanted around here. Thats about as rude as Ive ever come across. Sumner Crest Winery is a great place. The employees are super nice, the wine is super good and Ill be a repeat customer for the rest of my life. They have sweet wines (i like the strawberry) and dry wines, too. My aunt likes dry reds and she found one for her. They are right of the interstate which is always good. Some wineries are off the beaten path. Not this one. Just a stones throw from I-65. Open year round. I also like their Robertson King. Come check them out and THEN decide for yourself. Dont go by what Ole Rob says. He sounds like a jerk anyway.

This winery holds a lot of surprises on the inside. I was floored by the beautiful and many displays of antiques and other items inside. The wine was wonderful. Jimmy (female) was our server, she is full of wonderful energy and makes the place so fun! I will be going back soon. As for Robs comment, wow, that was very harsh and I do not believe is correct in anyway. If Welchs was mentioned by Jimmy, I didnt hear it. But I know a lot of people starting out drinking wines that prefer a very sweet wine that taste like grape juice. I dont, but I did in the beginning, so maybe that is why they compare them? But their peach wine (Orlinda Gold) is very good.

My wife and I love this winery. Our favorites are Orlinda Gold and Robertson King...their Port is also excellent. They also have a very good Cabernet Sauvignon (somewhat pricey, though). Since discovering Sumner Crest a few years back, we have stopped at exit 117 every time we visit Kentucky. In fact, my whole family loves Sumner Crest wines, including my parents and all my siblings. If they shipped to Mississippi, Id probably be bankrupt :)

Rob, what are you, a hard liquor drinker? Wine aint supposed to nail you. Sumners wines, like Sherie commented, are excellent. They make no apologies about most of their wines being fruit wines that are sweeter than Cabernets, merlots, etc. Rob, you can just drive on down the road, get some shine and go your merry way. I personally, as well as my wife, like Sumners wines

It was out first time here and just so people understand this place is JUST a gift shop, if they offer anything more we would not know because nobody would speak to us. No hi how are you. No info on whats what and whats where. We left in less than 10 minutes. WASTE OF TIME!!!

The wines and port were full of flavor. I do agree with Rob about the sales person mentioning Welchs which is NOT a selling tool, but of the 14 wines I tasted I didnt find one I didnt like. Otherwise, the shop was high dollar and I wouldve rather have seen the winery.

This winery has everything from Chardonnay to a very sweet Blueberry and a wonderful Blackberry Port. There are several sweet selections, but the Cabernet is excellent. Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff. They do free wine tasting daily.

Selection of goods borders on immense for a winery. Staff was fantastic. Wine tasting was superb. We stopped on a whim as we went to the gas station next door. Will be going back the next time we travel to Nashville.
