Doorman was condescending and took a dig at my attire, guess it was because I didnt wear skinny jeans and hipster glasses. Well thats Rodgers Park for you. Its the epitome of a dive bar, dont think it would pass a health inspection. The music was good, and if you like that Dive Bar feel this would be a good place for you. Beer selection was decent, but no glasses, just plastic cups? Food comes from the cleaner Heartland Cafe which is connected to the south. Brettly (?) was ok, but his email asked us not to play any local shows 2 weeks before or 1 week after our show there. Which first off, is bull, unless we sign some kind of non-compete or legal document we can play wherever we want. And this isnt the Metro, its a dumpy bar in Rodgers Park, get over yourself Brettly.

Talk about your classic "dive" of a bar! I took my girlfriend here as her first bar experience and she loved it! It may not be fancy but that is what you have to embrace about it. They have amazing specials every day of the week. "Wasted Wednesdays" are great with their 1 dollar Budweiser on tap! Another great thing about this place is the community. There is a huge group of regulars in this area and if you get hungry go down the street to the cafe. Redline also has a frequent showcase of live local music and it makes for a very active atmosphere. If you are a student just show your ID and you get in for free, if not it is a 5 dollar entry fee for music nights. There is also a nice pool table so you can shoot some stick while getting your mingle on!

Even just entering and having a beer there, you can feel the vibes of previous shows reverb through the decorations and style of the place. They got daily booze deals, pretty attentive and friendly bar tenders, and the prices arent too bad. Is it a place to take out your partner on a snazzy fancy black tie date cheering with martini glasses with pinky fingers raised? Well maybe. You might be into that. Except the reality will probably taking plenty of jaeger shots, $1 buds, and drive the porcelain throne all the way back home. Did I mention there is a pool table? The good: a good drunk hole. The bad: if you like sterile looking places to get your booze on, not your place. Personally I like it the place though.

Cool place near my house with one of the best whiskey selections Ive ever seen in a kinda rock, kinda country dive bar music venue. I pretty much love all of the music they book here, except that fn rap crap, but, the place is packed when they do. Ive gotten to see some killer shows here - and if they keep bringing in these killer bands, Ill keep coming. Micki and Brettly are awesome bartenders, and always treat me well, and Ive never had any issues with the patrons, hippies, hipsters and rockers all in the same place and getting along...... with the exception of the small and fd up bathrooms, this place rules

I love this place - my neighborhoods music venue. I live a couple of blocks away, and find myself coming to see countess shows here. Ive seen so many good shows here, from Wussy, to Grant from Husker Du, Andre Williams and so many more, and I am really looking forward to seeing the Supersuckers and White Mystery this month - so much, I changed my holiday plans to See White Mystery Theyve got a killer whiskey selection, some really good beers and even better drink specials.. I miss the Ike Turner - at least watching folks get it...

I love this place - it kind of rules. They have killer drink specials every day, and any bar I can come to get $1 PBRs during football season is killer They have some pretty good music here too, I just got to see Grant Hart from Husker Du there!!! Grant Hart! and Mike from the God Bullies is coming in a couple of weeks. All of this and its just around the corner from my house. And you should get an Ike Turner, you really should. It hurts so good, oh, so good

Great bar and live music venue. They have some good specials too, the most notorious of which is an Ike Turner. Just go ahead and get one if you want the full experience. Bartender is really friendly. When he poured me a beer in a cup and saw my skeptical look as to whether it was actually a pint, he was happy to show me that it was by pouring a cup of water into a pint glass. I like when customer service goes above and beyond.

If I lived around the corner I might be a regular at this dive, which features cheap beers and dinner from the restaurant next door. Instead, I came for one of the live concerts starting a couple of country guys, playing in front of a small but enthusiastic crowd on a weeknight. And if I didnt have to work the next morning, Id probably stay until the wee hours of the morning, which Im sure happens to many each week.

No pretext. This place is a dive, but in the best possible way. The people here are some of the most genuine and most engaging people. They have every type of live music for every type of person. From regge to metal to open mic, to punk, to techno. You name it they have a night for it., And you can actually influence who you want to play there. If you go there GET AN IKE TURNER. and buy one from KEELEY!!!!!

On my first visit to The Red Line Tap, it was clear that this was THE gathering place for the community. The people are friendly and genuinely want to get to know you, the bartenders will actually talk to you, the beer is cheap, and the music is good and loud! This place is the reason I moved to Rogers Park.

The music here changes all the time so you can never be sure what youre going to get but by and large some very talented artists gig out at the Red Line and its definitely worth giving it a shot. Most of the time I think theres no cover charge so its hard to beat the price as well. I recommend this place.

i went wednesday to redline tap and it was filled to capacity. my friends and i waited outside patiently and the bouncer came out, yelled at us, informed us according to her we would never be getting in and told us to get out of there.. power trip... at a local bar...doesnt make me want to go back soon.

My band played here last week and it was totally chill. The booking guy, Brettly, was very communicative and where there was a slight mix up with the band order, the staff was quick to fix it. Friendly bartenders, nice pool table, and a great and diverse crowd. Great beer choices as well.

I totally love this place - best whiskey selection in a music venue I have seen, and I love me some whiskey! Theres live music almost every night, and I gotta get my band in to play there - sound in there is awesome. I however, will not be getting the Ike Turner, Thanks, but no.
