We came in with 21 people on a pub crawl that we paid to have take us to 4 different bars and this was one of the stops. We were unaware that there was an issue with the pub crawl owner and were drawn into a mess that was not something we, as paying customers, should have been drawn into. The owners boyfriend of the George Jones establishment, who kept saying he was the owner, came up to our group and told us we needed to leave and were not welcome there. When I proceeded to tell him we had no clue of what was going on and we were not involved in the drama with them and the pub crawl owner, he proceeded to flash his gun that was on his hip at me and tell me there would be no problem. Now I am a gun carry permit holder myself, and to me flashing a gun in a bar where CHILDREN are sitting at tables all around us is VERY unprofessional and irresponsible. I was not drunk, nor belligerent and being a 55 130 lb woman did not feel the need for him to flash his gun at me. I was not causing problems I was simply telling him we had no clue about their drama. When he told us we needed to leave our 21 person crew went downstairs and he followed us the entire way. When we tried to speak to the actual owner the security guard again showed us his gun and told us to leave the premises before there was an issue. This so called man is VERY DANGEROUS and should be removed immediately from the premises. He not only put our lives in danger but CHILDRENS lives in danger. If you are going to carry a loaded handgun in a bar you need to learn the rules on when to flash it and when not to and believe me that was not the time to flash it at 7:00 on a Saturday evening when families are trying to enjoy their meals. This is definitely not a place I would recommend to anyone. VERY DISAPPOINTED and BEYOND disgusted!

We decided to eat here for lunch as George Jones is one of my all time favorites. We walked in to a sign that said seat yourself. After looking at the pictures on the wall, and using the bathroom we sat down at a booth just down from the bar. There were just a handful of people in there. After waiting to be greeted for about 5 minutes ( the whole time the waitresses were hanging at the bar talking to the bartender) my wife flagged one of them down. After grabbing menus on her way to our table, she proceeded to throw them on our table. With a disgusted look on her face. Did not say a word! No welcome, no can I get you a drink, nothing. Simply walked away. We were completely turned off but this and left. As we walked out, I turned around to see her cop a bigger attitude. Im sure Mr. Jones would be completely appauled at the service we recieved!

Have heard a lot about this new place so while we were in town we wanted to stop by and check it out. Having George Jones name on it and being in Nashville we were very excited to hear some great music. What we got was mediocre at best. According to the poster he(Chas Collins) was a top 10 CMT artist. I have never seen or heard of him before last night and have been watching CMT for years. Was very disappointed. Also, if you want to enjoy an ADULT night out, this is NOT THE PLACE TO GO. They allow children on their rooftop bar. There were several there and one or two that kept running all over the stage area. There is a time and place to take children to enjoy music but a BAR IS NOT THE PLACE! Will be finding somewhere else to hang out when we are in town.

The rooftop bar-One of our favorite places we visited this time in Nashville. Im shocked to see all the negative reviews. We went Friday night and it had just finished raining so it was very empty. Also went back sat and it was packed. Got my drinks fast. The view, the view was amazing. It was so nice to just sit back and enjoy a drink with my bf. We also got to meet some nice people who sat next to us (as well as some very belligerent bachelorette party goers which was entertaining). Try the moonshine - apple pie. However. Id recommend going downstairs for the $1 small pours. If you get an actual shot upstairs its $9. The prices arent the best but the location and atmosphere you cant beat.

I would normally give this AMAZING BAR 5 stars!!! It used to be my husband and my favorite bar downtown. We come to visit Nashville a lot and this is always a place we come to. However, last night we came expecting fantastic live music and views of the river, and were severely disappointed to find a DJ... at GEORGE JONES BAR!!! The bartenders gave us excellent service (as always) but stated under new management there wont be any live country music in George Jones Bar anymore (anyone else see the irony?). Needless to say we wont be returning to George Jones bar until the great live country music returns!

Made our way to the roof top. While being up there, it had just finished raining. Needless to say you had all the wet people under a overhang with no ventilation (Use your imagination to figure out what everyone smelled like). Made our way to the back portion of the open deck/roof access. The view provided a nice view of Nissan Stadium, bridges, an the river. We had a couple of drinks while up there, but I can tell you the band was not energetic with music selection. Not really my sup of tea, due to the music selection and it not being lively.

I stopped in randomly, well, because I love George Jones! James Carothers was playing downstairs and his classic country playing pulled me in! Great voice, great guitar picker, and a whole hour of live George Jones songs!! My new paradise! I shut the bar down that night, and came back the next night to shut it down again! James Carothers was playing again and didnt disappoint! Great view on the rooftop! As for the museum, it is the most personalized museum Ive ever been to! If youre a fan, its worth double the price of admission!

Ignore the prices because you only live once to enjoy this is an unforgettable experience. The museum is top notch and you can tell they really put their heart and soul into building the museum. I have to yet try their food, but their George Jones brand of moonshine White Lighting will surely put a smile on your face. A shot and a beer is definitely my favorite. Friendly people and a top side bar partially outside overlooking the river deserves nothing less four stars.

We visited from Michigan and loved it! The nachos were delicious! The Sweet Thang strawberry lemonade was the best drink!!! Nancy Jones was out working her tushie off! She was so sweet and chatted with us! The restaurant is relatively new and had some kinks but with time will be pretty amazing! The place had a rooftop bar that overlooked the river that had live music! Pretty amazing time for a Saturday night in downtown Nashville!
