Dont waste your money at this place, it is absolutely the very worse restaurant Ive ever eaten at, it has the worse service ever! Two friends and I were driving in from Dallas, TX, and we had never eaten in downtown Franklin, TN, so we looked online and decided on Grays on Main. So, we called ahead of time, 1.5 hours ahead, to find out if we needed to make reservations, we told them over the phone that we were driving in from Dallas, and simply calling to find out what time they close, and to make sure we had time to arrive and have dinner. They told us that we didnt need to make reservation, unless we arrived after 8pm. We arrived at 7pm, and when we got there, the two male hosts said there was already a 45-minute wait. We mentioned to the two of the hosts that we had called ahead, specifically for that reason, since we were driving in from a long distance. And even though one of them said that he spoke with us, that we needed to wait. Neither of the two male hosts, offered to bump us up, even though one of them clearly remembered speaking with us over the phone and telling us that we didnt need to make a reservation, because he didnt think that we would need to wait. At this point, the right thing to do was either to call a manager over, or take the initiative to accommodate us. None of this happened, but we decided to go ahead and wait, since we had already decided on this restaurant and we had just driven most of the day. We asked to sit at the bar in the meantime, so that we could at least get a drink while we waited, and noticed that there were three 4-person tables by the bar. We asked if we could sit at these, and we were told that we could not due to reservations. Well, we were there for 45-minutes, and no-one showed up for either of the tables. Then, they came up and sat us at one of the empty tables, which was in the middle of the room. We were hungry, so made no fuss, but we kept getting bumped into by servers and other guests. The other two tables were out of the way, and no one ever sat there. In fact, there were other tables that were available by we heard to server taking care of the next table offer the "Chefs Special to the group sitting just next to us, not even 20 minutes later. Also, when we received out food, we only received part of it. They forgot some food. And our drinks stayed empty for over half an hour, until we called the server over because then, but we were sat in a very uncomfortable spot. Then, when we began to place our order, we asked about the Chefs Special of the Day" and we were told by our server, that we were too late to order the chefs special, because it was no longer available. However; we had not been asked if we needed any more drinks. At this point, there were very few tables that had customers. The restaurant was pretty empty by 9pm. Dont waste your time or money at this restaurant.

Went here tonight with my family and in-laws. The food was amazing. I got the stuffed chops, two pork chops stuffed with mushrooms, spinach, feta, and topped with a red pepper pesto. This was grilled to perfection, deep strong grill marks with a nice char on the bone, but plenty juicy in the meat itself. It came with a cauliflower casserole, which was very close to an al gratin. I had a local brew on tap, but my mother in law got some drink that contained a bit of vodka with an orange peel in the glass. We all tried it and it was a very mild, very well balanced drink. Not harsh at all. One of the owners, Michael, was making rounds and stopped to talk with with us. He was very friendly and engaging, which worked well for my in laws in particular. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable about all of the menu items including the desserts. The description I got before we arrived was a converted pharmacy, so the expectation going in was more casual. But it was a very nice and well put together atmosphere, small number of seats downstairs, but we didnt make it upstairs. The prices were a bit up there, but worth every penny. We well definitely be back.

Very recently I provided a review, which I rarely do, however both the food and service were fantastic. That being said, I was excited to take an out of town guest there on Monday. We went for a late lunch/early dinner around 4 pm. We were informed we would have to order from the dinner menu so I ordered the shrimp and grits. There were 4 to 5 tables of guests at this time so not at all busy. My meal consisted of four shrimp and the grits. It had a decent flavor, but was lukewarm at best. In fact the grits were almost congeeled. This did not not include a salad, bread or anything other than the small entree. At the price, I certainly expected a better quality as well as quantity. So disappointed after such a pleasant previous experience, however after visiting with people out on the Square, they all seemed to agree it is hit or miss anymore. Nice atmosphere. Service was so-so this time. May try one more time, but for lunch only.

This place was amazing! We were seated quickly on a busy afternoon, given an attentive and hilarious waitress, and provided samples of the local beers they offered. Our food and drinks were served quickly, and made correctly. The bartender came over and asked us for examples of what we like and made us amazing custom cocktails. You could tell he really knew his craft. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was trendy, interesting, and enjoyable. We examined the historical portions of the building and got an interesting insight into the life of one of the pharmacists who used to live here. I will never forget this restaurant, and look forward to bringing my family here in the future so they can experience this. We were originally in Tennessee to visit Nashville, but the drive to Franklin was made worth it just by our brunch at Grays!

Delicious. Fun Cocktails. Good menu options. A little pricey for the portions in my humble opinion. Ive been here for private parties before and enjoyed the heck out of myself, but as a recent show-attending patron it feels like its trying to be too much to too many people and missing it all. Sound for the live music left a lot to be desired. Bar area was clunky. Table seating didnt make complete sense. The radio call-ups to the upper floors with the multiple hostesses and the guest hand-offs were just awkward. Got run down by two different staffers carrying food trays on our way into the dining room. Dunno. The undercooked chicken got comped, so thats hardly a sticking point with me, but it would most likely be a lower rating if it had been my first time there. Chalking it up to an off-night.

It was my first time to Tennessee, to visit my daughter where she is doing an internship. We wandered the streets of Franklin and decided on Grays for lunch. It was perfect in so many ways. Friendly, great service and delicious food. We tried fried green tomatoes for the first time and we were very pleasantly surprised at how scrumptious they were, we are hooked! We really enjoyed all of the ffod and will definitely go back next time I visit. We raved about it to everyone at the hospital where she is working too. A group is already planning to go to listen to some of the live music. Thanks for a great meal and overall wonderful experience.
