Ugh. Where to begin. Called to make our tee time and specifically asked Steve (I think) if greens had recently been aerated (common problem this time of year in Myrtle Beach). I was clearly lied to in order to receive our business. The back nine greens were not even playable. They were covered in sand, tire tracks, etc. We completely quit putting by hole number 12. I wish I had pictures of what we paid to play. It was nothing like I have seen before. If this was my only problem with the course, I would still tell you to stay away. Complete BS to lie to customers. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was not much better. The cart girl does not sell hot dogs "this time of year" and could not be bothered to crack a smile. Chips and crackers only. We teed off 25 minutes after our scheduled start time. No starter, no ranger, no help. There were 5 foursomes who all had been given tee times within 10 minutes of each other. It was a complete mess. The guy at the bag drop was the only friendly person at the course....but told us "you guys are up next, head to the tee". Got there to find ourselves in a half hour line. This course is clearly living off of their 2007 reputation. I felt like we were playing a backwoods course in the suburbs of Pittsburgh...not a course on the Grand Strand at Myrtle Beach. It was completely underwhelming. For the same price, play Wicked Stick or Indian Wells down the road.

STAY AWAY---Played this course hundreds of times- during good times and bad- have always been loyal to this course- year and a half ago greens got destroyed- they made a spectacular come come back by September of 2016- festiva became new owners of golf course- since then most of inside staff have left- couple of good guys stayed but for most part all new people- new ones seem annoyed when you ask questions- newer members of outside crew have poor attitude- not like the older gentlemen that have been there for years- Topper of day was when I went to get balls for range and there was none!!! Got a half bucket of beat up balls and range was in worse shape I ever saw- They got pissed when expressed my dissatisfaction with lack of practice balls- which come with green fees- the look this woman gave me was like "how dare I ask for what I was entitled to" they acted as if I had some nerve for questioning them for no balls for range- course conditions are horrible- falling apart- love the layout but I can see that new owners do not have interest in taking care of course- only to sell time shares- - actually pains me to post this review- but after yesterdays act I can see my playing days here are done after 12 years- just joined loyalty club - mistake- join prime time and get nicer courses and better rates

We probably wont play here again until we have a handicap less than 10. It is beautiful and well maintained. We made par on most of the holes on the front nine but the back nine was embarrassing. There are quite a few houses lining the fairways and lots of hilly mounds along the edges of the fairways that provide an interesting challenge. What I hated most about this course was that there were nobody playing holes 2 - 16 because it was a hot day in June; yet they had 4 groups tee off of the first hole within 10 minutes. They could have easily had people tee off of hole 10 or any other hole to help spread it out. The food in the clubhouse was very good and the staff all seemed pretty nice.

First time staying and will definitely be back!! They have an indoor pool and jacuzzi. And outdoor pool, an outside bar area, putt putt, playground, gym, planned activities for the kids daily, and grilling area. The grills were very clean. The patios were made like sunrooms it was nice to enjoy the breeze and not worry about the kids getting out or bugs getting in. The staff was extremely friendly. We did have an issue with the dryer not working. They also have the tube tvs and not flat screens. Easy access in and out the facility. Parking is close to your rooms. Didnt hear noises from other neighbors next door. Very quiet area for vacation spot

If I would have paid any attention to the previous reviews, I would have definitely missed a wonderful opportunity. The Ellington Resort is a beautiful community with "out-of-this-world" sleeping accomodations. I almost didnt want to leave. It felt like being inside of an apartment. The staff (well some of them) were friendly, and having a problem with maintenance while I was there was solved almost immediately. And I do mean within a ten minute time frame. I actually ended up purchasing one of the packages from Festiva Resorts and Ellington will definitely be my first choice for accommodations in the future.

This resort has definitely gone down in the last few years. Last year the room was filthy, the bathroom disgusting, and no internet. This year, the floors were covered in sand upon check-in, something rancid in sink (still havent come to fix it after three days), and still NO Wi-Fi! Needs a renovation, better cleaning staff, and some freaking Wi-Fi. Makes me feel very disappointed that we invested in a timeshare years ago. Not recommended.

My son and I played this course today. The course is in good shape and it is a challenging course. For the money an average golfer will not be disappointed. The starter spent way too much time covering basic golf cart dos and donts. I recommend sharing more course information and less time on where we can and cant drive.

Great layout, great staff, good conditions, awesome range and practice green. Overall great place except: 8 GREENS ARE GONE. (As of 4/1/16) 8 greens are basically dirt with green spray paint over them. They dont tell you this when you call to book a tee time.

Course not in good shape, no idea on where to hit the ball and ranger not very helpful with the pace of play. Got stuck behind a 4 some and took over 5 hours to play. Sad part is there was no one in front of them, if we saw a ranger they could have helped

Played today..unhappy with course. Hard to find grass once you left the tee box. After driving 12 hours to play golf (golf vacation)...I would not recommend this course.
