Was greeted by pro shop employee out front smoking with "wanna play?" He was pleasant enough but smoking by the door then smelling like a dirty ashtray while he checked me in wasnt very good. The place was a ghost town. I didnt use the range but it looked worse than any range I have ever seen...huge weeds and dirt. Wow! Anyway...I was given a "deal" on the fee. Little did I know that any fee would be too much for this place that I used to like. Dont know the details of what has happened here but the result is a terrible golf experience. Conditions were fair at best. No, they were pretty bad. The grounds crew dont seem know anything about golf as they were always driving by right when I was hitting. Never made an effort to slow down or be quiet so I could hit. Not sure they were even doing anything. Just driving around. Never saw them drop their blades. Bunkers were washed out. Areas were overgrown...badly. They obviously have no budget but letting the place go to hell isnt going to attract more golfers to build the needed revenue. You have to spend money to make money. And start by spending money on the bridges! They are in dyer need of repair and are borderline dangerous. Holes in bridges with big drop-offs covered in cheap plywood? Not cool. Someone is going to get hurt. And the cart paths are buckling everywhere. After 14 holes of being bounced around on a crappy course, I felt like I had been in a football game. I just had to leave. Too bad they have let it go so badly. Wish I could buy it and make it right again.

Ive played this course several times in the last few years since its close to where I live. Their rack rate in comparison to other courses in the area is way too high and not competitive for what your playing. If it was not for some type of deal from various golfing websites, I would not play at regent at all. They recently hiked their range rate to $7 dollars a bucket for a handful of water balls, ridiculous. I understand the previous comments related to the attitude of the staff, Ive had fellow colleagues relate their own experience and will not play at regent as a result. Recently played on a gorgeous Saturday around 80+ degrees, the course was overbooked, not a surprise. We waited on the first tee forty-five minutes past our tee time in order to tee off, four groups on the tee block. I called the clubhouse to request teeing off the back 9 in order to get this moving, we were told "no", 5.5 hr round. No concession cart on the course, at the turn there is a snack shack which always seems to be closed even on hot warm overbooked weekends. Not very business savvy. Heres an idea! Reduce your rack rate to become competitive, reduce your bucket rate. Place a concession cart on the course, open the snack shack on weekends and holidays. Even if the course is overbooked, people will generally be happy eating and drinking and the money made from the two will grossly out weigh gouging a few extra dollars from the rack rate and the range.

The reviews are pretty consistent with poor service and bad attitude. They overbooked on the second nine and both basically told us we had to deal with it. The starter was at the bar having a beer when we went into complain when he shouldve been out trying to keep the course playable and moving. There was nobody in the pro shop and then what appeared to be the chef came in with an attitude telling us to basically deal with it its Fathers Day weekend. What a poor way to deal with fathers. We went ahead and played the back nine twice because of the log jam on the first hole. Three groups on the first hole when we shouldve been able to tee off after finishing the back nine. When we pulled up to drop the bags off there was nobody there to help us with our golf bags. The concession was close when we finished at 3:45. Ill give you one star for the nice greens but thats it. This course need some serious training on customer service and how to deal with people.

Went and played for Fathers Day, Soon as I walked in, I was told they had overbooked course and we needed to play fast. I had booked tee time through Golf Now for 10:30am, Didnt tee off till 11:00am. I ask for a Score Card and was rudely told they only give them out before you tee off for the round. The group in front of us had 5 people, three carts. Got done with hole 16 and Marshall tried to hurry us to18 without playing 17. ( played both) Greens are spotty also. Have cash at turn if you plan on stopping in for a drink or a hot dog, cash only. Over priced for bad service, in pro shop.

This use to be one on the best public courses in the area, until the couple from NY purchased it. The owners are rude, and obnoxious, imagine that, they are from NY. The golf course is in total disrepair, the tee boxes are horrible, the fairways bad, and the greens atrocious. It appears they put no money back into maintenance. Regent park had the best practice facility anywhere, that was the first thing they let go to hell. The practice facility mirrors the golf course, terrible. Save your money and yourself from the aggravation, go elsewhere for better service and conditions.

To call this golf course a goat farm would actually be an insult to goats everywhere. At $55+ dollars per round it is extremely overpriced for the condition it is in. The tee boxes are atrocious, the greens are scorched, pockmarked, cracked, and have weeds growing throughout. This is by far the worst course in the greater Charlotte area. Additionally, the clientele attracted to this course is also the kind who feels it appropriate to key someones car. What man does that? Bottom line, save your time and money and go play Springfield.

What a difference a year makes...I have played this course 20 times over the past 2yrs...I have never seen anyone doing maintenance on this course. On hole 5 there is an inappropriate design burned into the green. It would have been one thing if it lasted for a day, but its been 4 months and it is still there. Pretty much sums up the experience here now. Seems as though the owners are trying to get the last bit of money out of this place before they sell. Used to be the best bang for the buck in the Charlotte/Fort Mill area...Shame

In terms of a golf course, its fine. Things are the way youd expect for a public course. However, Im writing this as I sit the 14 tee box, the time is 3:50, tee time was 11:30... I dont know if they over book or let people go out before their time but this is a regularity. Havent seen one ranger to keep things in check, and its a Saturday. Multiple times weve pulled up to the next hole and there were 2 groups waiting. Make sure you give yourself 5+ hours to get a round in because right now in on pace for 5h 20m.

This place is overpriced. I have tried the course numerous times and even though the staff claims it is in great shape the greens are always suspect. They even charged me full price the day after they punched and sanded the greens. Didnt even tell me when I called and went to the first tee. I quit after 4 holes. It shouldnt cost more than $30 on the weekends here, but unfortunately Regent Park thinks it is much better than it is.
