I hadnt been to Slater Park in about 20 years, but decided that my dog and I needed a new place to walk. My neighbor suggested Slater. I was VERY pleased, and so was my dog! I need to use a Rollater when I walk long distances, so I need to find places with paved paths. Slater has several. I dont take my dog to dog parks anymore, (hes been attacked twice by "friendly" dogs, so no more dog parks for him) so I cant rate that feature. But, I love the pond, the bike trails, and the shops. I also like the fact I can grab a bite to eat, and have a "real" restroom, should I need it. Ill definitely be back! The grounds are well kept, and there seems to be lots of things to take advantage of while there. Beware the pond area, if you want to avoid goose droppings! Theyre everywhere. There are geese, ducks and a beautiful swan. NO FEEDING the water fowl! The picnic areas are well kept, and have several large trash barrels, that, somehow, people seem to miss. Leaving a mess around is an insult to everyone there, especially the grounds keepers. So, just a reminder to pick up your trash and dispose of it properly. A big thank you to the grounds keepers for keeping the park as lovely as it is!

Historic park that remains a centerpiece of Pawtucket recreation in the Darlington neighborhood. Amenities include tennis courts, baseball fields, basketball court, bike path, a concert area, a petting zoo, a dog park, a carousel, summer farmers markets with food trucks, and a few year round food options (hot dogs, ice cream, slushies, seafood etc). Also features the RI Watercolor Society gallery and some historic farm buildings. Very walkable, with interesting landscape design examples and old military equipment also dotting the park. Hosts an annual Pawtucket holiday celebration, with local businesses and individuals sponsoring decorations and mini-houses which line the main road and pond area. Not to be confused with Slater Mill, another historic site located in Downtown Pawtucket (10 minute drive or so from the Newport Ave or Armistice Blvd entrances to this park)

I have a love-hate relationship with this park. They do have a great, huge playground. But there is zero shade. I get a sunburn every time, and even my high-spirited toddler gets exhausted after a few hours in the merciless heat. One perk is the little petting zoo (closes before the rest of the park, so come early). The food stand and restrooms are also really convenient. The pond by the entry often has the tiniest, cutest frogs ever. Generally a pretty solid park to go with kids.

Big thanks to the city of Pawtucket for putting up a 9 hole disc golf course that can be enjoyed by all ages. The four layouts are perfect for mixing things up and keeping things interesting. With on site amenities like food, playgrounds, ponds, trails, and a pro office that is willing to loan discs, this park is surely on its way to becoming a top attraction for New England disc golfers. Lets just hope we get to see a full 18 holes up one day soon!

Nice family park. Good walking and biking trails with kids. Nice pond to feed the ducks. Great playground. Snack bar, ice cream and seafood place in the park. Snack bar has everything you could want, full menu and overall good snack bar food. Ice cream this season was from bliss dairy, so good ice cream. Seafood place maybe ok this year, not so last year. Fish and chips were mildly nasty.... wet fried fish suggesting frozen fish

The park was once well groomed but today can be found in a state of disarray. Overgrown with weeds and loads of poison ivy, Slater Park is a shell of its former glory. Regardless, its still a decent place to take the pets or the kids. Theres a quaint petting zoo, a jungle gym, dog parks for pups of all sizes, and baseball fields for the Jr sportsmen

Love this park. It has a carousel for the kids, dog park for your furry friends, a nice lake right in the middle, and also a basketball court, tennis courts, a park for the kids, and I believe they put in an animal shelter fairly recently. They have a "haunted tunnel" around halloween and also rememberance trees/donated trees around Christmas.

Nice little park. Access to a three-mile long bike path. Also features a carousel, tennis courts, and there used to be swarms of teenagers playing Pokémon-Go. In the summer there are different events like outdoor concerts. There are nicer parks in Rhode Island, but this one gets the job done.

I love this park! Theres so much to do and lots of great areas to walk around and spend the day outside. My boyfriend and I take our puppy to the dog park here and we all enjoy it. Theres a small and large dog area and though theres not too much room, it seems to be just right for everyone.

I always enjoy walling around Slater Park. There is goose poop galore, but not much they can do about that. Swans are fun to watch, the people are fun to watch. Be aware of the day time when school is out, summer camp programs pack the park, still nice, just louder with more kids.

Slater park is a wonderful place to bring the family for a nice day out for a picnic or cookout. Enjoy a restored carousel from the late 1890s. The only downside to the place is the upkeep is on the dull side and not the prettiest park for photos. Take a ride and spend the day

Awesome park with lots going on! The 6 mile bike path is maintained very well and we use regularly for dog walks and exercise. There seems to always be people here having a good time and during December they have a Christmas display that is great. 9/10 would keep coming back!

Their petting zoo is now a joke. Is nothing you can do and youll be lucky to see through all the fencing that they have around all these animals. Can barely see them cant touch them cant feed them not worth your time or trouble. Nothing like the good old days.

A very large and busy park. We mostly visit the dog park, which is usually just dirt but seems well drained. The park in general seems very clean. There are lots of green spaces to play ball or picnic and many trails.

This park has come a long way over the last 15 years. There is a playground, bike trail, duck pond with swan boats to rent, small and large fenced dog park, tennis courts, and plenty of grassy fields to play in!

Home to oldest loof carousel in the world, at an 9 mph go round. Beautiful gazebo. Many areas for families, to grill, hang out, relax. A petting zoo with food options as well. Each function has a great staff!

Never any better, never any worse. Ball fields and playground or in good condition, sand the mulch on the playground always having drainage issues. Wouldnt eat at the shack though.
