Im not a museum snob, but I have been to some very nice ones like the Art Institute of Chicago, the Louvre in Paris, the Cairo Museum in Egypt, the British Museum in London, the National Gallery in D.C., and countless small art museums and regional history museums across the country. With that said, I really and truly enjoyed this museum (along with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History), spending six hours (between the two museums) slowly winding my way from the massive Hall of Architecture, the adjacent Hall of Sculpture, and every single art gallery and exhibit on every floor. There are art pieces from most every notable major artist and period, along with sculptures, statues, decorative design pieces, and photographs. There was also a special exhibit of all the museums holdings by American artist Edward Hopper. As a complete surprise to me was a massive piece in Gallery 10 from the French ocean liner Normandie titled The Chariot of Aurora from the grand salon, as well as two sculptures and two doors from the salon. Well worth your time to stop here, plan this as an all day event including a lunch pit-stop in the museums two food venues or many of the nearby restaurants with a blocks walk.

I have feared going back since the last time I was there one of the museum guards ( worker or associate ) literally harassed my family throughout our entire visit. This individual would be far better off working at the cafe or the boo store. He ruined my visit to the museum and I have been horrified to go back. First he does not allow my wife to carry our infant in a baby sling on her back ( while never mentioning it was ok to carry our child on my wifes stomach..which someone else that worked there later told us). Then, he starts following us...and then he actually stops my mother from putting a breath mint in her mouth. If that isnt enough my older daughter was moving and backing slowly towards a painting at one point while I was talking with her and before I could react he comes rushing towards my family like its a 4 alarm fire to stop her ( at least 4 feet away from a painting ). My father is a curator at another museum and he was flabbergasted at the behavior of the individual. I could not enjoy anything else with my visit for fear he would pounce on us again. Horrible experience.

An amazing collection of some of the finest. This isnt just one or two pieces of goodies interspersed among a few dozen pieces. This is legit art. From the sculptures surrounding the gallery, to the hundreds, if not thousands of exhibits, youll be amazed. Art is subjective so you might find parts of the collection to be meh... But other parts may take your breath away.

An Interesting place to spend a morning or afternoon. They frequently change their exhibits so every time I go there is something new to see. They cafe downstairs has good and reasonably priced lunch food. They have good discounts on food and gift shop as well as unlimited visits for members. With $20/person visit prices, Its smarter to become members.

Its kind of small. I mean, they have one suit of armor and 3 helmets for their medevil section. Whats with the area they call Contemporary Art? They have piecies of cardboard leaning against the wall with what looks like toilet paper hanging from it. Like, thats art? They need to put out better stuff in that area imo

Outstanding museum! The exhibits grow from miniature furniture from over a hundred years ago to mammoth architecture exhibits. A wonderful variety and depth into numerous art disciplines and eras. Couldnt see everything in a day, but thats okay. Im visiting again.

Amazing art. We especially enjoy the children programs. Yesterday my kids spent hours reproducing masters. They enjoyed coloring and studying each of the great works. We are members despite living in Maryland and only getting there periodically.

This place is beautiful. Some very impressive pieces of art and some strange modern stuff. The architecture alone is a work of art. 4 stars only because its kind of pricey and since I was with a child security people were following me. I hate that.

As a student I would slowly wander through the halls daily, perusing the art. In a way it was meditative. There are so many pieces that it would take a lifetime to fully appreciate every one. Also, the rock and mineral exhibit is suprisingly fun!

I have come here many times because I had to take an Arts course at Pitt and it required visits to the Arts Museum during class time. I think this museum displays a huge variety of art work from different cultures and historic times.

The Carnegie museum is fantastic. It offers lots of interesting exhibits and is a great place to spend the day. Since it is so big and extensive it can be a bit overwhelming, but overall I really like it.

Actually a pretty legit museum, very good displays, actually interesting modern artworks and some very emotional pieces too. Has a wide variety of topics covered including beautiful display of gemstones.

뉴욕 휘트니 뮤지엄 연간회원권 있으면 무료입장. 하긴 그래서 피츠버그에 놀러온 것이기도 하다. 작품수가 많지 않고 전시공간이 광대하지는 않은데 큐레이션을 비교적 잘 해놔서 관람 내내 지루하지 않았음. 스토어에서 파는 기념품들도 이곳에서만 볼 수 있는 것들이 제법 있고 가격도 뉴욕같은 대도시 보다는 훨씬 인간적.
