This is a small museum in West Palm. We went up for the Chinese New Year celebration but took the time to look around all of the exhibits. The exhibits are arranged in different categories, from Chinese antiquities to current photography. Im not very well educated in art, so I just go with what I like. I think my favorite item was the photograph of the Beatles having a pillow fight. Thats something I can understand. I also enjoyed the Chinese porcelains, delicate and beautiful. I was really looking forward to seeing the Van Gogh exhibit, as he is one of my favorites. The entire exhibit is one small painting of poplars. It was beautiful, but almost lost in the huge, ornate frame. Oddly, this is the one thing in the museum that you are not allowed to photograph. They also have a gift shop with some truly beautiful pieces for the home as well as some educational items, clothing accessories and some jewelry that Id love to have.

Museum itself is small, but the collections are very nice. The young men at the front desk provided a nice welcome. I particularly enjoyed the Asian artifacts room. However, the guards were really creepy, closely following me and my husband around. In addition, some of the younger guards were talking very loudly and inappropriately to each other. Then, 15 minutes before closing, another guard came up to us and rudely told us that it was closing time, and stood behind us until we walked out of the door. We enjoyed the art, but wont be back due to the unprofessional behavior of the guards.

Lovely museum! I can (and have more than once) spent all day there. I do agree with some of the other reviewers that stated the museum is "sterile." I appreciate the Norton so much more than the plethora of other museums I have visited, *BECAUSE* of its clean, precise, "sterile" displays and layout. They rotate the displays often and have amazing, visiting works borrowed for a short time from other museums. Perhaps Im biased, though, because I was a frequent visitor as a child. :) BTW – The food is NOT "pricy" if you consider the location of the Norton Museum — the east side of PBC.

On being sterile. I agree. They even make the guards wash their hands. (sorry, I couldnt resist). But seriously, I just wanted to tell the world that I just became a member of the Norton. I am very excited because I have a job that requires enormous creativity, and I often feel like I am coming up short. So I feel like the dead artists are feeding me with inspiration, while comforting me. This museum is mothers milk for the creative but tormented soul. It shines pure in West Palm Beach, which is really striving to be more than it is, more than it could ever hope to be.

Go and see "HIGH TEA" as it is one of the best shows the Norton has ever produced. Its worthy of a big city museum. Gorgeous and Great Intellect. BRAVO. Although the focus is on modern & contemporary art and photography and those exhibits change all the time..............check when youre in town..........there are also excellent collections of American art, Rennaissance art and Chinese art that will hold your attention for a visit. There is a perfectly nice lunch place. Its worth a visit when youre in the Palm Bleach area.

Well rounded collection ranging from classic to contemporary. We decided to visit just because we were in the area, having never heard of the museum before. We were not disappointed. Give it a solid 1 to 2 hours to casually stroll and take everything in.

My group had a guide named Howard who filled our minds with knowledge and a new appreciation for the Arts. The new renovations are amazing and will be a BIG asset to Palm Beach County. I recommend everyone go and check it out. Its free admission after all.

Small gallery going through renovations, however, inconsistent themes in the galleries as well as artwork does not appear to be well preserved. Courtyard garden has potential but is seriously neglected. "Fountain of Youth" has no water

Museum is expanding and under renovation. It is free while construction is ongoing. Collection on display is small but will expand when the remainder of the museum opens. Worth seeing if you are in the area.

The Norton is a very small museum but everything in it is worthy of the space it occupies. You will be pleasantly delighted in the quality of each item at every turn. The glass ceiling is not to be missed.

A small, but elegant museum. They have a variety of paintings. Nice cafeteria with great view. First Sats of the month are free for Palm Beach residents. Even have a Monet. Lots of educational activities.

Even tho they were under construction, our experience was outstanding. While the construction is happening the admission fees are waived. There are still seven halls open with marvelous art pieces.

It was a pretty good museum. Even it still under construction; the exhibition was pretty good. Once they open I believe they will be the biggest art museum in Florida.

Admission is free until construction ends in 2018. Very limited viewing area but artwork is heavily rotated in the meantime. Largest museum in south Florida.

Really nice people at the museum, but I took my four grandchildren to see the Chihuly ceiling. Very disappointed that it was in storage. See you in 2019...

Kind of small. Great that it is free and open to public. But I cant wait for them to finish construction and expand their collection! I will be back then.
