I read all of the negative reviews before we went to the show tonight, and they were all confirmed. Lets start from the beginning. Parking across the street was $5. Not bad. By the time we got there at 7 (which is doors) there was a line wrapping around the block. We decided to wait in our warm car for the line to be let in, then made our way in to the venue. Our IDs were checked (for our 21+ stamp) and we started upstairs. I tried to go into the doorway for the main floor but two security women yelled at me to go upstairs. I asked if we were allowed in there and she kept screaming that 21+ was upstairs, and then gave me attitude when I looked confused. Oooook. Off to a great start. The 2nd floor had a wrap-around balcony and a bar that continued to the outside deck for smoking. For some reason nobody was allowed to get drinks from inside. We had to stand outside in the freezing cold to buy and drink our drinks. Are you kidding me? Staff was not friendly or helpful at all. We made a lap to try to find ANYWHERE to stand where we could see the band. You literally cannot see them unless youre up against the bannisters. We tried going upstairs again to a smaller balcony area - same luck. I got into a fight with an awful girl whose friends didnt even know what bands were playing after I asked if she could skooch over so we could see and it just turned into an awkward unnecessary fight. Another group of girls taking over a different section of bannister were also very unfriendly and couldnt fathom that there were OTHER people trying to look over their shoulders while theyre texting away on their iphones. God forbid I brushed against your back. WELCOME TO A ROCK SHOW. Not to mention all the mommies and daddies there to escort their bratty children home. For the last band, who I really wanted to see, we tried our luck back on the first floor. I was able to make my way into the thick of the pit. It was rough with all the kids trying to crowd surf. Ive been in quite a few pits, and it was a bit ridiculous. The floor is so small that when you have three girls getting launched at the same time, it becomes too much for the rest of us to keep up - resulting in many kicks to the head, and people just flat out dropped on their heads because YOURE TOO HEAVY TO BE CROWD SURFING!! Aside from that, I had a much better - albeit sweaty and sore - time in the pit, although I would have only made it through one band anyway. Maybe 21+ shows are better. All in all, I will never buy tickets to see another show at this venue. Its not worth the awful views, rude patrons, poor service, and UNFRIENDLY STAFF.

Last night we went to the Blackbear concert and it was literally the worst venue I have ever been to. When we got there around 4:00 PM, they had at least 150-200 people packed into this little room where we were supposed to wait for the doors to open. During this time, it was super humid out and it was incredibly hot in the room that we had to wait in. It was so hot to the point where people were throwing up and passing out because the heat was so intense. There were no fans whatsoever in this place and people were literally fanning themselves with their tickets the whole time. At around 5:00 PM they opened the back door to let a little air in, but you could only feel it if you were right in front of the door so it didnt help much. The doors were supposed to open at 6:00 PM and we were told at 5:55 PM that the doors would not open for another 45 minutes, which just made it worse for the people who were waiting in the heat. Then, when they finally started letting people in, we were expected to form a single file line at a small window where they collect tickets in a crowded room. The security then started to swear at the crowd (whom of which mostly consisted of minors) because we were not able to do what they asked in the little space that we had. Because the line was so bad, it got to the point where another man from security literally just had us throw our tickets at him and run into the venue. Our bags were never checked, no one was searched which leaves room for security issues. There was no organization whatsoever. When we finally got into the venue, the concert didnt start for another hour. Now, in the concert room itself there was some air conditioning, but not enough for us to actually feel it as we were waiting for the first performer to come on stage. When the artists started performing, each one of them stated how it was the hottest venue that they have played at. Blackbear actually made a tweet apologizing to the people who passed out at his show. All in all, it was the worst venue I have ever been to and I will not be back.

First of all, the staff is horrible. The security guards were all assholes. I drove 2 and a half hours to there to see Silverstein and by the 4th band I saw 6 people getting kicked out for nothing and the guards were pushing and hitting people to get them out. It seemed like they were just assholes who were abusing their powers as law enforcement there. I was afraid to mosh or crowd surf because I didnt know what would get me kicked out. The sound there was good even though people say it isnt. Maybe I just got lucky. The bar area was pretty cool but Im not much of drinker so it was no use to me even though I was of age. If your over 21 there is a balcony where Im assuming you can go out there and smoke cigarettes if you want. When we arrived they told us there were too many people on the main floor so we had to go to lvl 2. We went up there and could not see anything at the back of the crowd. Did not even both to try the 3rd lvl. Maybe it was because there were over 700 people there a guard told us. After waiting at the entrance to the main floor for people to walk out we finally got let in. Drinks were cheap. 2.50$ for a 20oz soda and 2$ for a water. Way cheaper then usual places which that was cool. It was VERY hot in the place though. Wear shorts and a light shirt. With a smaller crowd Id have 0 problems with the venue Im sure. Even though I did no have a run in with security it seemed like they were all being assholes to everyone and kicking out people left and right for just having a good time. If you go to these hardcore concerts, you know how the crowd acts...Why have a rough concert at a place that does not allow people jumping around and bumping into each other. Someone did a jump kick in the middle of an empty mosh pit and did not hit anyone and they grabbed him up and kicked him out like he had a bomb around his chest. They grabbed up a girl who was dancing to her self in an open area and made her stop. The place is alright but the security guards are a joke.
