Great experience. Ive been through the Mansion at least 4 times and Ive seen the deterioration over the past 25 years. Tour guide speaks too fast most likely because he is saying the same thing over and over I should be considerate and realized people are visiting for the for the first time. Beautiful woodwork but you could tell from all the traffic through the house the place is taking a beating. They should contract a professional cleaning company as young people cleaning the place are using orange glow on the woodwork. The furniture probably has spider mites throughout as they dont vacuum it they really should steam to kill the mites. Use Murphys Oil on the wood. Thats only my opinion which everyone is entitled to, but I would definitely get Professionals in to take care of the woodwork and furniture. But its still a must to visit when when touring Jim Thorpe

My girlfriend had toured once before, but years ago and this time we had to go together. Our tour guide was absolutely wonderful, full of knowledge, friendly and helpful as well. Im terrible with names, but a pretty brunette woman, she was simply outstanding! A beautiful place that houses, in my opinion, Americas best business man. We need men like him again. A nice activity to learn more about him. Dont go to Jim Thorpe without stopping here!

What an incredible house! The tour was informative and lively without being too deep (what I mean is, the tour was appropriate for all ages). The tour guide was extremely knowledgable and he was given tons of questions from guests about the most minute details regarding the house and family. He was able to answer them all! Gorgeous house, well maintained and a great deal too for the price. Definitely visit if youre in Jim Thorpe!

Great tour! Worth a trip to see this mansion, I was quite impressed. Unfortunately, the only reason they are not receiving five stars is because Ive tried for two days to get in touch with them by phone and the line is always busy. I want to find out if the tour is handicap accessible and still dont know, as Im bringing a relative to see the mansion because it was so good.

This is a great place to visit in the beautiful town of Jim Thorpe. Rich, yet elegant interior design, and some of the most innovative home improvements of their time. You learn a lot about the history of the area, and about a remarkable and compassionate family who offered great services to their community and beyond. Really, dont miss out!

Good tour! BUT, there is no parking in the immediate area. Parking is three blocks downhill at the train station....and that is limited to 2 hr. Our tour guide, Theresa, was clearly an expert and answered our questions thoroughly. Be advised there is no accommodation for handicapped persons, and no restroom on site.

Wonderful tour of this house which has most of the original furnishings. The docent was very knowledgeable. The only negative is that there are no rest rooms available for visitors. At $10 entry fee perhaps they could use some of their receipts to endure visitor comforts.

Gorgeous mansion built by the Asa Packer family overlooking the small town of Jim Thorpe. Guided tours offered for $10 per person. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and her enthusiasm captivated those on the tour. Check out the woodwork and detailed architecture.

The house is very gorgeous inside and out. The tour guide knew everything about the house and was very happy to answer questions. Definitely recommend visiting this place even if history isnt your thing. The beauty of the house is something that shouldnt be missed.

Very good tour guide that has been giving tours for 30 years. Very educational and interesting. More like a time capsule than an old mansion. Very well preserved, unique and all original hand carved from mid 1800s. You wont be disappointed if you like history.

The tour around the mansion is quite interesting and the guide we had was a lovely woman. I would recommend it if you are passing through the town as you get to learn quite a bit from it.

Beautiful property with a nice "rags to riches" story attached to it. Fair price and the tour guide had a refreshing dry humor. A must if you are in the area.

The inside is original and filled with history. Dont bother with the smaller mansion next to it for a $5 tour, it is a couple room self guided and not original

Amazing preserves home from The turn of the century. Beautiful interior but no photos allowed inside. Its a steep walk from town with lots of stairs inside.

They dont have any handicapped parking. My 76 year-old father has COPD and couldnt climb the hill, so he didnt get to see it.
