Went to the lanes for a family outing... had a good time bowling and went to pay and leave. We paid our tab in full and after returning to collect our items noticed they had billed us for an extra game in error. Considering this was on a bill of 110 dollars it was not a huge deal just figured we would go let them know about the error. We spoke to an older man, who said he was the manager. He was very confrontational stating that "look this is what the computer says"... I was fairly passive on the whole matter and told him "ok I will double check with our party, maybe I missed a game somewhere"... I went back and checked with our party of 8... all stated that they were certain it was 2 games on the left name and 3 games on the right lane. I went back to the manager to let him know what I had found out; when I arrived at the desk he slammed some printouts (litterally slammed) down on the counter saying "Look, see the computer says 3 games". I told him I was not debating that the computer said that, but because he transferred some players and did some switches on the lanes that perhaps there was an error. He still refused to even speak about it. At the end of the day I wasnt even looking for a refund; in the scope of things it was nothing compared to the end bill. I just wanted to make sure if there was an error it didnt cause someone else a headache in the future. In the long run I will not return to this place and strongly recommend finding another place to bowl.

EXPENSIVE! They dont post prices for a reason. $70+ for 4 people bowling 3 games. I wouldnt mind so much if the scoreboard wasnt so difficult to understand which is basically just one big picture puzzle and in turn wouldnt mind the score board so much if the lane was more accurate to begin with. The gate seemed to spontaneously descend as if they had a mind of their own or were controlled by the employees to somehow add insult to injury... further more correcting your score will only give you a red change mark insinuating you altered your score illegitimately . I among the rest of the group was extremely dissatisfied with this bowling alley. In addition to the electronic malfunctions; The lanes are extremely cramped (two seats to a lane) and the floor was so overly greased it was a complete turn off to order anything from the menu that happens to be completely comprised of finger food. There is nothing pleasant to report from this alley and Im sure the negative responses would be much more abundant if more people were willing to review it. I think this is a one time experience for most. I will be doing my bowling at Town & Country from here on out as well you should too.

Took my kids here for Veterans Day. The gentleman who was working that day was extremely friendly and professional, made my kids laugh and made sure we had a good time. I had my 6 yr and 5yr old, he put us on the lanes opposite from the crowd and I was able to spend a couple of hours with my kids not having to worry about what was around us. The entire building was clean, even the restrooms, they had bowling balls light enough for my kids and the shoes didnt look like (or smell) like they spent their life on the bad side of the tracks (the kids shoes had Velcro straps instead of laces which was awesome). All-in-all if you want a place to actually enjoy bowling, this is where you should go.

My wife & I visited Sunday morning, 25Apr2010 and bowled 3 games. 1. Noticed a mild smell upon entering. Soon got use to it. 2. Twice our ball was not returned and we had to go to counter to request it. 3. During the last game the rack failed to clear/reset. We tried using the reset button twice. Nothing happens. The girl at the counter tried to reset rack and failed. Her solution? Bowl over the downed pins! 4. The one star is for their scoring system, otherwise that alley is a total failure, bested by both Town & Country and Northgate. 5. A minor point but AMF Firebird also has the poorest selection of beers of the 3 alleys. Obviously we will never go back. Elzada

Ive been to this lane numerous times, however this review will also include a review of their bowling league. The prices for large groups is a little more expensive than other lanes in the area. However, the lanes themselves are consistent and the bowling balls and shoes are in usable shape. Like all bowling alleys, the shoes are extremely worn. Chances are, as a casual bowler, this wont and shouldnt bother you. The league was pretty cheap. Overall it was $64 for 8 weeks of play. (3 games in each week) This includes a 20% discount off the food menu and two free games of practice a week. Its been a while since I have felt that Im getting a good deal for my money.

Their lounge is awful! I found a bug in my drink and the bartender refused to do anything about it! I was shocked! This guy was a jerk! So if you ever get a server named justin beware, oh and my friends and I also caught him picking his nose while slacking on the job!!!! My friends and I used to go quite often for there cosmic bowling but this most recent visit was the most unpleasant. Also on cosmic bowling night they shut off half the concessions an hour and half before they even close. I was really disappointed and dont think i will return.

I brought my family to go bowling on Monday evening, only to be completely ignored by the 2 employees that were standing at the counter talking to each other. After several minutes, I told my daughter (out loud) that if they continued to ignore us, we were leaving. After 2 or 3 more minutes, we left. I wonder if skin color had anything to do with it? Great way to ruin a family night out, Firebird Lanes!

Firebird is my favorite bowling alley in Salem. The place is clean and has a full bar. The employees are all pretty cool, but their service isnt the greatest. They often seem unorganized when it comes to league play and I have yet to speak to one on the phone that didnt sound like they were pissed at me for calling. But their lanes are nice and their deals are damn fine.

I had a good time there & the food was good. 2 of the games in the game room were totally broken and I should have gone to the front desk for a refund but did not. I was in shock when I checked out to see the bill for over $100. There was just my wife and I with 2 kids, we each bowled 2 strings and had a bite to eat. Conclusion, dont go there hungry or thirsty.

My family had a good experience here. Everything was in working order. The food was good (french fries were awesome and the nachos were ok). The music selection was also nice. Lots of parking. The facility is set back really far from the street so it might not be easy to notice if youve never been there.

Way overpriced, if you set the bumper for kids you cant change them when the adults are playing and this one guy that work there came to yell at this little girl that was playing next to us just because he had to retrieve the ball, definitely not coming back here
