This was our first visit to the Toledo Zoo. We are members of an aquarium, which gave us a discount on admission. We entered from the secondary Broadway entrance following Googles directions. If you are a member and want free parking you need to use the Main Entrance/parking lot off Anthony Wayne. There are very nice gardens with beautiful flowers and plants by the Broadway entrance as well as the aquarium and primate exhibits. So, there are some benefits to using the secondary entrance. We have a 4-year old son and there was a lot to see and do. The park food was the normal fare one would expect, but the prices werent quite as bad as an amusement park (i.e., Cedar Point). The Zoo was pretty crowded, but not so much that it made seeing the exhibits difficult. The zoo was originally built in 1900 and has some interesting architecture as various exhibits were added in differing styles over the next century or so, which was a plus for us. We enjoyed ourselves enough to upgrade our entrance purchase to a membership so we can return as often as we like over the next year. If you enjoy visiting zoos, we recommend this one.

We said "I Do" at the ZOO on October 1, 2016. This was by far the best experience any Bride and Groom could ask for. From the initial meeting with Jenn Maher, to our emails back and forth, to the BIG day itself, Jenn and the staff were amazing. Jenn and the support staff made sure everything was done to our satisfaction and WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure our day would be stress free and memorable. There were a couple of tiny bumps in the road but they were addressed promptly and without hesitation. Also, a shout out to the catering manager, the mushrooms were a huge hit during the cocktail hour and by the time the bridal party came in, they were all gone. But, the catering manager made sure the bridal party had a couple plates of the mushroom appetizers at our tables before dinner started. :-) I cant even express how thankful we are that we choose the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium as our wedding venue. Our guest loved every minute of the wedding and reception and we were able to make one more memory at a location that has held a special place in our hearts since we were children. BEST DAY EVER!!!!!

I visited from Harper Woods; MI with my 3 families (83Y to 9Ms). Got lot of fun and information about Wildlife. Kids had fun @ their own but Railway Trip made more enjoyment which we enjoyed together.. But I faced some problems some due to my age but others in common.: (1) For seniors: Manual wheel chair was available within In Gate which I used to visit limited views; had my 4 young men not in my family I would have been kept to only 1 or 2 sights to enjoy. No Sef Motor driven available inside Gate. (2) For Public Rest rooms are very limited and the map available @ gate has no mark A detailed Map is required to be available

Very disappointed in the whole place! I didnt think the animals were very active and didnt seem very happy!!! I dont like how the African part is set up all though the giraffe feeding is awesome! The only active animals were the polar bears and seals! The prices were a bit outrageous for the little animals you saw! The aquarium isnt very big either! The zoo grounds were very well maintained . I just feel like there needs to be more animals and more room and something to make the animals happier! The camels looked horrible and a lot of the animals were just laying around not doing anything! It was only 75 degrees and sunny too!

The Aquarium is one of the best additions the Zoo has ever had. Clean, new and always busy, our little one LOVES the different areas in here. From the massive Ocean Exhibit Tank in the middle to the fish in their individual tanks, very high quality and worth the trip. Not old enough for the "Pet Tank" with the Rays yet, but he will love it one day. The Seaweed is always a must visit for him and the gift shop, as mean as it is to parents, has some good toys that arent *terribly* priced.

The zoo is well laid out and beautifully maintained. On hot days like the day we went, they offer splash pads for the little ones to get wet as well as misting fans throughout the park. Not to mention theres plenty of places to sit and rest along the way and to enjoy the scenery. I found that the food court was very expensive, however the food was very delicious. Plenty of CLEAN restrooms throughout the zoo as well as vendors.

Were from Detroit Michigan and this is our first time here. Had to wait a while for my veggie burger, they offered me a cookie as an apology. Lots of the animals werent in their exhibits, either they were moved by staff to somewhere else or they were hiding. The aquarium was awesome and bonus, it was air conditioned. Id come back if only to use the splash pad next time since we werent prepared for it this time.

Truly an amazing place. Be prepared to walk; I tracked my steps in the park, from parking to every attraction and then back, and the distance was just shy of 4 miles. Parents will definitely want a stroller for the little ones. Grab lunch in the Carnivore Cafe and make sure to get a Dirt Pudding (chocolate pudding with whipped cream & crumbled Oreos on top) for dessert!

Yes. Just go here. You voted to pay the taxes to fund it, now go make use of it!! This place is awesome. Kept the old exterior of the building, but upgraded the aquarium and it is beautiful! It isnt huge, but its great. They have a petting tank with horseshoe crabs and some rays, and a giant tank where you can watch people go in to feed the fish by hand!

The Toledo Zoo offers an abundance of activities for a family to enjoy. Each exhibit offers children to interact and learn about the animals the are viewing. Well worth your time, to watching kids enjoy. While writing this post my wife just explained that bathroom were very nice and clean if thats a criteria for zoo goers.

For as long as we had to wait for it I am extremely disappointed. I have been to the zoo about 5 or 6 times since it was opened and only went back to the aquarium twice. Its nice and has lots of interesting new things like the touch tank and the massive new tank but not worth the effort that was put into it in my opinion.

Very nice Zoo and aquarium. Apes are very active and funny . Feeding to giraffe is very fun.they are very tall and active. Food near the train station is very very bad and to costly. Food is not preferable inside the zoo. $7 for parking lot of parking space..Go and have fun!!
