This place is not worth the money for the experience. The waterpark itself is fun, but the hospitality/staff/cleanliness is sub-par. If you try Maui Sands or The Great Wolf Lodge that is nearby, you will definitely be happier with your experience. Our room had long black hair on the beds, and bathroom floor. Considering I am a red-head and my children are blonde and light-brown, it did not come from us. My daughter found a orange peel under the side of one bed, and a peanut under the side of the second bed. Considering my son has a peanut allergy, it was a great thing that he was not the one who found it and I went and got a vacuum from housekeeping and vacuumed the floor myself. I informed the housekeeping manager that I wanted clean sheets and pointed this all out to her, she seemed to be "on it" - that is until I ended up following her down the hallway to ask for the vacuum to sweep up the mess myself, and I heard her telling a housekeeper in a very snotty tone to "make sure to change the sheets in front of her because she works at a hotel" - and she just had that tone of voice where you KNOW someone is mocking. Our air conditioner wasnt working right, we had set the temperature to 64 degrees in hopes to try to cool the room off. The room would not get below 70, so on our second day there, we informed maintenance, who said the air was blowing cold so it was fine. Well we ended up sweating in our sleep both nights because the air conditioner was not sufficient enough to keep a small room that was closed up and unoccupied 90% of the day below 70 degrees. The safe malfunctioned, locking all of our valuables in it, and we had to wait about an hour for maintenance to come use a master code to open the safe for us to get our wallets, to go eat, the time that took had us chomping at the bit to get out of there to grab food. Then, come to find out they employ incompetent people at the desk, do NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. There incidentals are high, $50 per adult, per night. So our incidentals would cost us $200 for our stay. In addition to the nearly $600 that was to be paid for the room and taxes. So, I clearly told the front desk to use Card 1 (in my name) for the rest of the room/tax (half was deposited at the time of reservation) and to use Card 2 (in my other halfs name) for INCIDENTALS only. Well, after checking out, my card was never fully charged for the room, I thought to myself "they compd the room due to issues" - which is what most places would do when there is that kind of problem, especially the peanut with my childs allergy. So I thought nothing of it when my card was not charged. Come to find out when the statements come, my other half tells me his card was charged the full rate of the room/tax/etc.. SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. So I call to figure it out and the guy I spoke to (Chad) says that they can only have one card on file. NO ONE INFORMED US OF THIS AT CHECK-IN. So he then says he can charge my card and then refund the money to my other halfs card. NO. Not going to allow this company to tie up the money from both of us. So I tell Chad that I want to talk to someone above him. I had to demand a phone number from him more than 12 times, it was not only until I informed him that I was recording the conversation that I got an extension for someone higher up than him. He also said if I had seen the bill (which is left OUTSIDE in the HALLWAY where anyone can get your info) then I would have seen the charges were being routed to the wrong card. I replied with it SHOULD NOT be the GUESTS duty to make sure their job was done correctly. Horrible experience, please save yourselves the headaches and hassle and stay somewhere else. This was the worst-ever resort experience I have ever received. We travel a LOT for not only business, but pleasure. We had stayed at Maui Sands, The Great Wolf Lodge, Cedar Point and Kennywood (and kalahari) during the span of June-September and all of those places had not a single problem with using two cards or cleanliness. GUEST BEWARE!

Its nice that you can go to the water park early the day of arrival (starting at noon) and stay all day after you check out. Well worth it. There are plenty of places to eat within the resort, but it can be a bit expensive. We paid almost $9 for a hotdog and fries. Lunch for 2 adults and a 5 year old was $40 with non-alcoholic beverages. The arcade was lots of fun! If you only want to play racing games, shooting games, or basketball, baseball or football throwing games, you can pay $20 for 2 hours of unlimited play or $30 for all day of unlimited play. Any other game requires you to buy another card (similar to a credit card but it keeps track of tokens and tickets). That option can be quite expensive. I believe you get around 100 tokens for about $20 to $25. However, most games cost 5+ tokens to play. One game my son played was 16 tokens! Theres also a virtual reality game, laser maze, putt-putt course and mini bowling located in/near the arcade. Unfortunately, we didnt try them out, so I cant provide details. The water park was a lot of fun. There is an indoor and outdoor park. Each has areas for smaller children. There are also 2 hot tubs that you can swim through a door to go inside or outside. There are several water slides to suit all ages. Since we have an infant and a preschooler, we couldnt really do the big slides. They looked really fun though. One annoyance we had was having to put a life jacket on our infant. Seeing as how she cant even walk, were obviously not putting her down. The life jacket (free to use from the resort) was bulky and actually made it more difficult to hold onto our baby. She also hated it because it pushed up into her face and always tipped her backwards in the water. I also feel like theyre very strict on some things. We watched the lifeguard yell at several people for getting in the outside pool by using the ladder on the side (the metal kind that hangs down into the water) vs using the built-in concrete steps or walking in the zero-depth entry side. Instead of letting our 5yr old sit on our lap in the lazy river, he had to have his own tube. Since hes small, it was difficult for him to sit in the adult-sized tube. I had to hold onto him to keep him from falling through. All that aside, we had a blast! By the way, towels are provided. We didnt use the outdoor adventure course, but it had rock walls, zip lines and other neat kid activities. There is truly enough to keep you occupied for a few days!

“Our favorite vaction place with something to do for eveyone!” We came here for the first time last year for 4 days and it was not near long enough. This place is huge with a ton of stuff to do. So this year for are 10th anniversary we asked are kids where we should go for vacation, they both said the Kalahari and that it was the best vacation even better than Disney this coming from a 7, 17 year old and a 17 year old friend. This year we went for even longer and still could not do it all, if you are thinking about going a couple thing that are must dos #1 Get the outdoor adventure pass right when you get there its good for the whole stay and gets you unlimited accesses to the rock wall, ropes course, zip lines, and the zoo plus they have a stingray exhibit. #2 Stay for longer than 1 or 2 night you wont regret it. #3 Do the spa bar none the best massage I have ever gotten. We did the couples hot stone, And last year are daughter and here friend did the teen make over and nails. they talked about it all the way home. #4 If your kids like animals do the Jr zoo keeper program are 7 year old did it both years and says its her favorite. #5 GET PRIVATE FLOW RIDER LESSONS it was the blast. #6 Buy the big cups right when you get there, best mixed drinks and price is great for refills. #7 Get to the water park early opens earlier for guest. #8 Use the pool in front of the sands its beautiful and warm. #9 Go to the arcade are kids had almost 11,000 tickets with are help too. #10 Shop and buy candy they have tons of places to shop at. Buy candy it is so good love the turtles but it has all been good. #11 Go to the Ghostly Manor Thrill Center right up the street the hunted house was terrifying the 17 yr olds ran out the exit screaming. We go on vacation every year and are kids want to go back next year we have been to similar resorts Double JJ Ranch, GWL, Crystal Mountain ECT.. And this is by far the best. Only downside was we left a couple things there and they said they would check and call us back but never heard from them. Still had a blast and was better this time than the last.
