This is now one my favorite parks in Columbus! I remember this used to be the police impound lot, looks nothing like that now! Its a Beautiful park and an awesome location. The views of the downtown skyline are superb especially at night! Then being right along the banks of the Scioto River is nice to, the river is dirty but Columbus has been doing a good job of cleaning it up the last few years. Now the trail connects though downtown over to Grandview area so you can hike, walk, or bike all around Columbus. Their are great places to stop and picnic, take a few minutes to relax, or even do some fishing. Surprisingly for being inner city there is a lot wildlife in the area to see as well (Nice to see a few deer running though the park!). The park has basketball, volleyball, and a nice play ground for the kids. Also you can walk up the stairs of the water tower and get a great view of downtown! I hope someday the Scioto trail connects all the way south to the new park on 104 south in Grove City!

This rating is for the dog park. From the reviews, it seems many people havent been to other dog parks. Theres not one tree for shade. When it rains there is a mud puddle right by the entrance and in the center of the park near the front. Simply adding some mulch to this area would go a long way to resolving that problem. As for the owners, most are great and all the dogs are wonderful. There are a few owners, however, who know nothing about dog behavior and become fearful when other dogs try to play with their dogs. Dogs sense this fear which causes the dogs stress. Either let the dogs play and have a good time or keep them home. Its not fair to the owners and dogs who know the purpose of a dog park -- to play.

A "aunt" type person took my daughter to the climbing wall which is awesome in the fact it is a good size and FREE as long as you have your climbing equipment. Visited the Audubon building which my son and daughter enjoyed due to the turtles. The building doesnt have much to offer, you can leave your drivers license and borrow a backpack for various activities such as Art or Binoculars . Didnt go into the second building so it may offer more to see and do. Son loved the viewing deck for the pond, we saw ducks and a few huge fish, free mounted Binoculars to use. Walking trails and a playground for the under 10 proud. There were no water fountains except at the building.

Its okay place to go for select things. For example, if youre going there for the dog park, to take a jog, or the volleyball area then great! Especially the dog park, they always have bags for your dogs mess. Also they have a small dog area and medium to large dog area (all areas fenced). However, for the climbing area there, its extremely dangerous. I climb and when I go there I see a large amount of people who have absolutely no idea on what they are doing and that puts me, a person who knows, in a lot of danger. People also let their children run all over the place, while people are climbing. Theres absolutely no climbing etiquette.

Great park with lots to see! They have a public visitors center with activities for kids, a wonderful library/viewing room, and a small nature gift shop. Probably more than this even. It can even be rented for private events like a wedding reception we saw during one visit. Outside activities include: Rock climbing facilities A water tower with two viewing decks Kids playground Large obstacle course Public picnic areas Wetlands area with walkways across Volleyball court Boat docking area Large fenced in dog park Walking/Biking pathways Much much more! Such a great place to visit! Can spend an entire day there seeing everything.

One of my favorite Columbus Metro Parks, this park was built on reclaimed land of the Whittier peninsula. Its hard to believe this used to be an impound lot. It has something for everyone, trails for walking and cycling, climbing walls, obstacle course, river views, wildflowers, wetlands, dog park and more. It also sits in a major migratory bird route and is run in conjunction with the Audubon society. The Grange Audubon center is a beautiful modern building that fits into the landscape perfectly and offers places to relax, a gift shop, class rooms and event space.

JUST A DOG PARK REVIEW: Dog parks are nice to find, and this is a good one in the downtown area. Hidden in the very back of the park. Not much grass right now, so it will get very muddy. People here are friendly and fun to talk to. Looks like there are two areas off a small covered picnic area. A small dog area and an area for other dogs. Both have obstacles for the dogs to play with. Bags are available for litter and water bowls through out. Bring water in the colder month, as it looked like the water fountains were turned off.

I come here often to climb and find it quite enjoyable. There is an interactive electronic game that is very annoying and loud that I wish someone would take down. Why go outside if youre just playing some video game. Sand volleyball and walking trails make this a great place to be on a nice day! I love how often park rangers are seen, as many uneducated individuals like to play on the climbing wall without proper equipment or etiquette which is very dangerous to themselves and others.

Ive been several times and its a nice place to go. I enjoy the views from the 2nd level of the water tower. Kinda wish there was a 3rd and 4th level. Rock climbing wall is available for use. I havent tried this yet. Paths for walking thru wetland area and nature center available at the top of the hill. Theres a workout course as well. Obstacles to go over, under and through. Dog park is adjacent however doesnt offer more than one bench for seating.

Lots of things to do when youre downtown Columbus. Took the family there with our bikes was able to travel through the middle of downtown on the new Greenway Trail all the way over to Grandview and Back Again. Stopped at the fountains in the middle of downtown to check things out and let the kids play in the water, and then back to the Audubon Metro Park to play around the rock walls and the playground. Lots of things to do for everybody.

This is an interesting area. Plenty of flowers to see and opportunities to see a variety of birds feeding on bird feeders. Observation deck to look out onto the river with binoculars to get closer up to some of the wildlife. Unfortunately on the inside there isnt much to do. It looks to be geared to classroom learning for school trips. A few other parks nearby for physical activities, obstacle course and a rock climbing wall.

I bring my dogs here close to every other day. The owners are usually very attentive and pick up the dog poop; they have one locked up park I wish they would open as the main "large dog" area is dusty and become muddy really quick. They have a watering station and a pavilion to sit under. My dogs always love to come here and we always leave happy! The trails are beautiful and well-kept and everyone is always friendly.
