My husband and I were driving home to Charleston after picking up an antique rug nearby. We thought it was a ghost town.We were wrong. The Chef and Frog have some of the best food and service we have ever experienced. We have ate at some of the best restaurants in Charleston and Raleigh however this restaurant did not disappoint. The filet was cooked perfectly(actually peppercorn crusted, not dusted) and the lamb was fall off the bone, one of the largest portions I have ever received. The pasta was handmade, the wait staff was attentive, and the owners were very kind. Also, the dessert list was a mile long and better than most 5 star restaurants we have been to. We will be making a special trip just to eat there again !

Very delicious lunch, but the salmon dish wasnt unique. The asparagus was perfect; not slimy and not too crisp either. Hommade vinaigrette on side salad was one of the best standard dressings I have ever had. Staff was friendly but young and either a bit inattentive, or possibly just inexperienced or had too much to handle? The dinner menu appears to be much better. I will come back for dinner sometime. My standards are pretty high, So this 3 star is like most users 4 or 5 star. I do recommend this reataurant, but hope that your lunch is a bit faster than mine.

They food is AMAZING. The owner is very customer friendly. First impression is the restaurant is very expensive but when you factor in the cleanliness of the restaurant, high quality service , and the fact that the food is the freshest in Whiteville the price is very competitive. The owner has showed my family and I more respect for me being in the military than any "American" establishment I have ever been too. I thank you for all the hospitality and amazing food I hope to see yall again.

Great lunch stop on the way home from the Charlotte area heading toward Wilmington. Enjoyed the crepe of the day; chicken, feta, spinach with creme sauce. The server also ensured my wifes food was prepared gluten free due to her allergy. There are also kid friendly options. My kids had burgers with vegetables. A nice substitution for the fries.

Fun place with a great menu. All dishes are prepared to order so it may take a few extra minutes to get your dinner. Definitely worth the wait. Staff is knowledgeable on food and beverages. I have had dinner here twice. Both times I have been pleased with the quality and quantity of my food. I am looking forward to trying the brunch menu soon.

While visiting Whiteville we were looking for a good steak and we had driven by earlier in the week and decided to give it a try! I called and the person on the phone was very personable and helpful as she accommodated our large party with an immediate need! The food was worth the small wait and the service was awesome! We will be back!

What a great time! We could never imagine we where in for such a pleasant dinning experience! The peculiar mix of French and Cambodian food was certainly new and refreshing for us! The staff, owner and chef were more than helpfull and friendly! Well definitely be back for more delicious food :)!

Recently had dinner at The Chef and the Frog with some work colleagues and was pleasantly surprised with the variety and quality of food on the menu. The beef borguignon was tender and delicious. The dessert was also fantastic. I would highly recommend the bread pudding and/or creme brulee.

Some of the best food I have ever had, and the owners are some of the most friendly people you will ever meet. They treat every customer like a close friend. My favorite place to eat. Also the bar has a wonderful craft beer selection and a wine selection like nothing around.

Everything was mouth watering delicious. My 3 sisters and I kept tasting each others appetizers, entrees and deserts. Whiteville is fortunate to have such a talented chef. Great place to celebrate a special event and have a relaxing non-rushed meal with excellent service.

It was a distasteful Experience. The stake we ordered was spoiled and I was able to smell the bad smell of the stake. The staff, chef, and owner did not apologize? I can’t recommend The Southern Kitchen to anyone. I was disappointed with the food and ruthless staff.

How wonderful not to drive an hour or more away for a nice meal and atmosphere. We can always count on delicious food, outstanding service, and I enjoy speaking with the owner each time we visit. Thank goodness downtown Whitville has Southern Kitchen!!
