The staff is friendly & the decor is very nice but the scene is very typical. Nothing ground breaking about this place. Im very "technoed" out with the music but I understand that theres still a big enough demand for it. Im also tired of all the drag shows. It would be nice to find just one gay bar that would spare us from the constant bombardment of guys that want to dress as women. I have nothing against it, Im just tired of every gay bar I go to there has to be a drag show. Also, my rating wouldve been much higher if the staff would allow the few of us that dont want to watch the drag shows or listen to the techno music the luxury of listening to the jukebox without turning it down or off when the drag show starts. I dont see why they cant close the door to the ballroom & let those that want to watch & enjoy the show do it at their leisure and allow people like me the luxury of listening to the music we paid to hear on the jukebox for our enjoyment. Other than that, if youre looking for a gay bar with the largest crowd in this area, I would recommend Legends. If youre looking for a gay bar thats atypical Id say occasionally Flex but it would be best if you ventured out of the area.

I have been going there for almost a decade I think 2004 was the first time. Its changed allot. some good and some not so good. There is lots to do on Friday and Saturday nights and during the week its quiet. I would suggest bringing back the Sunday Drag show and ditching the Gogo boys as well as at least having the dance floor open. The Gogo boys are cute dont get me wrong but I miss my queens and feel cramped considering 3/4 of the club is shut down on Sunday. On Friday and Saturday night it is the place to be most of the time. I run into lots of my friends and catch up on that weeks events. With out fail you will see some characters which is always fun. The club can be a bit clicky at times but for the most part its friendly. In recent years it seems that more straight people have found this place which is ok but remember its a gay bar so if your a cute guy and another guy offers you a drink dont get offend, after all you chose to come to our club. Love the staff and the queens they always make me feel like Im welcome. Drinks are cheap and not watered down.

The drink specials were reasonably priced, especially earlier in the evening. There were two different events/music stores to dance to as well as areas where it wasnt as loud and you could get away from the noise as a break. There were also some arcade games, as well as pool tables, skeeball, and air hockey! The air hockey table was a little odd in that you could play with a player on each side of the table, but that doesnt interfere with just playing a normal game if you get across from each other. There is also a lounge area with nice leather seats and a fireplace as well as an outdoor area for smokers where you could still hear the music. Earlier in the evening, it was a very chill place to hang out and have some drinks and play some games. As the night went on, it transitioned into a pretty bouncing night club with a decent number of people on the dance floor or just hanging around drinking, playing games and hanging out. All in all, its a nice venue with an eclectic variety of areas.

well I see the reason why I gave Legends A two out of 5 in stars is because its the only club here in Raleigh so of course the gay community is going to rate this club at 5 because they have Thursday night which is but I guess you can consider it being black night any have Friday night which is white night and my thing is is that we as a gay community have to come together and we should come together to make and get more clubs here in Raleigh being that we are the capital of North Carolina I think that if we are going to be the the capital I think that we should show more initiative in our community. In just our communities that we live in but the communities that we are apart of which is a gay community and I think that we need to come together as individuals to one another and to come together to make a better night experience for the nightlife for the gay community so I think that thats something that all of us need to look into doing so thats my two cents

I absolutely loved this place, until one of the "Security" , Donald DJ Martinez completely embarrassed me and physically assaulted me because of an argument that we had a year prior unrelated to anything to do with Legends. Im 5 feet tall and I was pushed and pulled around by 4 guys , all twice my size and literally threw out of the club because as he said, "Youre in my place now". I was with a friend and from out of town and I was just trying to show him a good, drama-free time. And it was the complete opposite. It was the most embarrassing thing that has happened to me ever. My friend and I notified the owner because it was a complete abuse of power and it was physical abuse. I loved Legends and always spent a good amount of money there but that was a very degrading experience and I will never return if they dont get more professional security that cant differentiate between work and professional life.

I was looking forward to trying this place out but I doubt Ill be back. Went here a few weeks ago and after being let in by the nice security guard, I went to pay my cover fee. Gave the girl my ID, she looks at me and says, "I cant let you in, you look nothing like your ID.". Apparently growing your hair out and losing weight makes you ineligible to get past the front door. As someone whos trans, does this mean I have to get multiple IDs? One as me dressed as male and the other dressed as female? What if I came dressed in drag, I need one for that look too? I literally have no other problems with my ID at any other bar in the area, you know the ones that arent lgbt bars or "safe spaces", so why the problem here? I literally went in full female attire at the ruby deluxe a few blocks away and they still took my ID...

I got in at about 10PM on a Saturday. Because I was underage to drink alcoholic beverages, I was given an "X" on both hands and a wrist band on my right hand. The charge was $8 to enter and the cashier took my I.D. until I was set to leave. The dance floor was dead until 11PM when more people poured in and the DJ played music. There was much momentum in dancing and kissing that you couldnt resist and not dance. The drag show at the view was decent but they could perform better. For the most part they just walked out in their outfits, lip syncing, and taking money. The view also has games and lounges. There is also an outdoor section with a bar and smoking accessibility. I hardly went through any trouble or problems in the club. However, more security could be helpful.
