Ive lived in town my whole life (25 Years) this was the better of the two theaters actually in Rockville Centre. My last experience was less than perfect to say the least. The matinée price isnt the best. The seats are from the last time they re-did the theater(late 80s early 90s). The theater doesnt open as early as it used to(15mins before first show). Last week I went and saw "The Incredible Hulk" in theater 5. The last time I was in theater 5 we had sound problems(Batman Begins). Guess what, still had some sound issues that were corrected in the first 10 mins(the time before it was throughout the film). It seems like the theater is in the toilet. The manager and one ticket taker were the only people working. There were about 10 of us in front of the movie at a half hour before show time(the usual time Id like to be sitting in a movie theater) and some tween kids with their grandma started knocking on the window. the manager came out and said well open the ticket thing in 15 mins, the more time you make me tell you the the longer its going to be... honestly at that point i was thinking of going in to use the bathroom and leaving. A box office should be open before the movie not in just enough time to get you into the movie. THIS PLACE IS ON A MAJOR SLIDE. The only thing that keeps me going to that theater is that I dont have to take a car to get there unlike every other theater around.

I started working here in March of 2014, and continued to work here until October of this year, almost 19 months later. It wasnt all bad starting out, but things progressively deteriorated over time. It was a newly renovated theater, with large leather seats and a brand new layout. The seats are now all entirely misaligned, with torn, unkempt upholstery and some of the seats missing armrests, all of which is the fault of the clientele of the town. There were quite a few guests who entered the establishment over time, who were bitter, insensitive, rude and careless, always wanting everything for nothing. The staff was the worst part of my experience there. Management constantly played favorites there, choosing to reward those who incessantly whined over the most trivial things, ignored most, if not all, policies set in place and did no work, yet leave the hard working individuals high and dry. Over the near 19 months I worked there, Ive seen countless employees come and go, only to be replaced with lazy jokers. I ended up gradually losing the respect of everyone there because I put far too much effort into my job, which they all took great offense to. In the end, I was terminated for being a model employee.

I grew up in this town and had always frequented the place in my youth. However, with the constant change of employees and management due to incompetence and attitude, I have grown to hate this place. My last visit I was rudely greeted by the cashier woman, and followed into the bathroom by the manager after I bought tickets because he claimed that he did not see me buy tickets and that he didnt want my "kind" in the movie theater unless I kept it "professional." Had I not already bought tickets with my friends (who also witnessed this) I would have left right there. After going to the head manager and having nothing done about it I REFUSE to patronage that place, especially considering the place is already a pig sty and the back of the theater is where the smokers, drinkers and druggies hang out.

Came here recently with my son to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - actually my first movie here in quite a while and definitely the first movie I have come to here since they renovated relatively recently. We purchased the tickets online . . . still finding it strange how you have to reserve specific seats at a movie theater these days. Putting that aside, we got there and found our row and seat designation, and sat down in very comfortable seats (stadium seating?) - and found the seats to be so much more comfortable than I am used to. The seats definitely contribute to a better movie watching experience, and make for a preferred movie theater location for my future movie watching needs.

*ALERT* IF YOURE READING THIS AND IT IS AFTER THE FALL OF 2014, IGNORE ALL REVIEWS OF THE THEATRE BEING DIRTY AND OLD. Ive been to this theatre countless times, and prior to last year the theatre wasnt the cleanest, and was pretty old. But theyve done a complete remodeling of the theatre, including the concession stands and bathrooms. Its a prime location, and AMC has been either revamping their theaters, or closing them. This one made the cut. So go and enjoy a movie in the brand new red recliners with a customized soda from the customizable coke machine!!! Its AWESOME!!!! P.S. The Staff and Management are on POINT.

They overhauled the place & put these large couch type seats which sink in & the older the seats get ,the more it will sink in ,not orthopedic or comfortable whatesoever.your back hurts when you get up .When you walk in they ask you where you want to sit ,who cares go in & sit down ,they even ask you this question when its empty .It is dirty as well ,unclean & the workers are out to lunch .If i did not live nearby i would never go to this place .

Its one of the least favorite AMCs ive been to. Have had movies delayed by about 30 minutes for projector issues. The seats are not that comfortable, even though its good to be able to pre-select them theyre not reclyiners. Theyre bulky rocking chairs with no foot support and they hang mostly. Their projection quality is average, sound as well. Its just convenient since its basically down the street from home, but besides that...

Always thought of this theater is so so but ever since the renovation it is remarkably amazing to see any movie in this place. This eating the food the comfort is just second to none. The sound system to still be upgraded a little better but really a joy to go to this theater whenever theyre showing something I want to watch. I highly recommended if you havent been here definitely go.

This theatre gives me a reason not to watch Netflix on my couch. They always have a very clean theatre and a great staff. Tickets are normally priced and there are multiple discounts that lower the price. The snacks are reasonably priced for a movie theatre and you never have sticky shoes after being there. Thank you for creating a perfect place to watch a movie!!!

Decided to try this place out, but kept my expectations very low. This place is very old-school in design (screen, seating, etc...). However, all was redeemed because of great projection and nice crisp loud sound. Since it was a matinee show on a weekday (for the Avengers!), the place was not crowded and the audience was very courteous. Pleasantly surprised.

You Never have any religious movies. Not Risen, or the new movie about Heaven or God is not dead. RVC is a very religious community and something is wrong when ALL religious movies are passed by.!!!! I am protesting at the Cathedral. If We have to search out movie theatres miles away for these good movies, then WE do NOT need your theater in our town.
