It was my/our first visit here. After some shows in Berlin and Hamburg this now in NY. Saw Cirque du Soleil Paramour here - amazing show and great venue! It was breathtaking, it was round, it was wonderful! Vielen Dank u. Grüsse aus Braunschweig und Erfurt. w.r & s. pechmann

The show was great apart from the fact that the seating were not practical and poorly thought out. Customers should never be given the worst seats having paid the same price as 5 rows of people behind me. I was given the front row right in front of the stage. It was not only painful for my neck (while still only being able to barely look at the performers shoulders and occasional glimpse of their faces, the light flashing and loudness from the speakers were terrible and resulted in a headache after the show. Also, we couldnt even see the performers which descended from the ceiling. To put it bluntly, we could only see their butts. I booked my tickets online and never got the choice of seats. Regardless of where or how it is booked I think it is only reasonable for people to actually enjoy the show after paying for it. Ive watched a ton of broadway shows in different seatings, balcony, backseats and even the front but NEVER have I encountered such a terrible seating position. It really upset me that I could not enjoy the performance like 90% of the rest of the crowd. I bet the rest of the people in the same row as me were also very upset with the awful arrangement. The show was great but they seriously need to redesign the way they seat us. If you have a full house then you should not seat people up the front and just provide more show times because I honestly hated it.

New York, New York Its a wonderful town!!!!! On the Town is a musical with music by Leonard Bernstein and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, is based on Jerome Robbins a navy guy with his two friends, they have 24 hours to explore and see what can the Big Apple can offer it to them. But when our Main character sees a poster in the subway of Miss Turnstile "Ivy Smith" and read what she like, he falls in love for her. And then try to convince his friend to help him find this woman. His friends tell him that is impossible to find this girl in the big apple, but he convinces his friends to help look for the girl. They agree to meet at Time Square at 11 PM. Each one of his friend end with a date, one of then with a taxi driver that got fired because she was sleeping in work hours, and the other one with a anthropology that was married but this did not stop then of being together. Jerome did find Yvy and they agree to meet at 11PM in Time Square, but the teacher of Ivy had other plans for her and she could not show on time. At the end Jerome did saw Yvy, but it was time to leave and the police came because they had destroyed public propriety. A excellent band, wonder full actor, I do recommend seeing this play. Thanks to Ruggy and everyone who provided yelp with a great opportunity and fun night out in the heart of Times Square! To see On the Town.

My wife and I saw a performance of Cirque Du Soleils Par Armour in this theatre. When we arrived there was Aline up but I disappeared in no time. This is due to the highly efficient friendly staff. Pricing for drinks can be absurd. Mediocre wine for high end restaurant pricing. The in-seat service is nice once you learn about it. The facilities are kept clean all the time and did not cause any disruption. The view from the seats towards the stage was awesome.we had to seats closest to an isle which allowed me to stretch my legs adhere the space between rows was enough for my wife to sit comfortable. (Tip: whenever booking being friendly to the cashier is a great attitude to start and then ask the cashier where he/she would sit him-/herself when attending a performance. You know with the seats they recommend you cannot go wrong. These people know it is a night out for you and will do their utmost to make the experience special) The performance itself is a romantic love story with Cirque Du Soleil artistic elements. The scene with the flying lamp shades (drones) was simply amazing and absolute perfection in its execution. It was also great to see theatre staff responding those who thought it was necessary to take pictures despite explicit statement before the show. After the show the flow out of the theatre was quick and easy.

Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark was amazing, but I will try to review the theater rather than the show. The seating arrangement was decent; the best place to sit would be around the center section but not towards the very front rows. By being too close to the stage, you really miss out on some of the cool action that takes place throughout the theater. Sitting on the sides, parts of the stage can be in your blind spot, so you miss out on some of the designs or action which can take away from the whole experience. Another bad thing about sitting too close to the side would be the speaker locations. some people sat right by the speakers which was very loud with most of the musical numbers sung. Exiting wasnt too difficult, but getting out it was an extremely slow process because they have space for more people than the amount of doors available for us to leave from.

My husband and I attended A Cirque Du Soleil Musical Paramour last night April 30, 2016. The show was absolutely amazing. The comfort of the Lyric Theater was NOT. This being my birthday gift, I was very excited to enjoy this show in comfort. The temperature of the theater was below freezing!! I had 2 coats and a hat on and was so cold I could not enjoy the show. Many people complained and nothing got done. It was only when I very quietly asked to speak to a manager and told her this was my birthday present, she ushered us to Orchestra seats where it was very pleasant. But I feel I missed the whole first half of the show!!! Very disappointed in that theater. I would never ever attend that theater again!!!!!!!

Strange writing a review of a building... It is a beautiful building, weve seen several shows here. Our seats have been all the way in the top to the orchestra section: all were good views. At 6-7 tall and 300 pounds, I agree the seats and legroom are not sized for modern Americans - or at least not me! This is one of the largest Broadway theaters, and really requires a big show to fill the stage and not get lost in the big proscenium. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Hot Feet, and Spiderman all did this. The current production of On The Town does not do it as well, often there are only one or two characters on the stage, and they look small and lost, no mater who well they perform.
