Craig Wood fired the "shot heard around the world". Double eagles dont happen often, even on the tour. The course is rolling, but walkable. There is room for a little extra with the driver, but watch for tricky approach shots. The greens undulate, but are fair and fairly quick. The back nine narrows some and goes through trees. Beautiful scenery and not a house anywhere near the course. The friendly pro tells stories about Craig Wood. Ill be back.
Im shocked. This is a hidden gem near Lake Placid. Yes, the greens roll slower than most resort greens, but they roll true. The elevation changes and wind make this course a real challenge. And with the backdrop of the mountains, its very picturesque. Go play it, and thank me later.
Played the front nine on July 3, 2015. Not a bad layout but the greens were in terrible condition. A couple of the greens were half dirt/ half grass, and a couple more had dirt spots scattered throughout the green. Very difficult to get a consistent roll. Not worth the trip.
A blast from the past. Joe brings a gourmet meal with a throwback atmosphere. Its a great experience and more than affordable. Townie love, tourists are warmly welcomed. Definitely a tradition in the making.
Very rough course. Nice views but horrible maintenance. Staff was friendly and attentive. Carts on the paths or "fairways" felt like a true off roading experience.
I didnt come here for golf but to get a scenic view of the mountains from the parking lot. Good place to walk your dog.
Fairways had a rough winter but the greens are fine. Enjoyable day with a big group. Nice place. Very reasonable.
Very friendly staff and wonderful course to play. Highly recommend
