I had spotted an ad for the "buckwheat pancake" breakfast being offered on Saturdays and Sundays in the Greece News. Decided to try it on Sunday 3/19. Terrible experience from the time we set foot in the door at approximately 11:20 am. There was a sign stating that we needed to wait to be seated. There was a server at the cashier/computer station entering something and totally ignoring the people waiting to be seated. Didnt even acknowledge our presence. Looking out into the dining area , you can see a smoky cloud filling the room. Finally, a male manager (owner?) had us follow him to a table. Server from the cashier station was going to be waiting on us. We were given the menu which had 3 offerings: the all you can eat buckwheat pancake breakfast, extra sausage, or added homefries. We selected the breakfast that was to include 2 sausages, scrambled eggs, pancakes, warm applesauce and orange juice. Patrons of two different tables that were seated after us had already been served their serving of applesauce and choice of beverage. We were still waiting. When food arrived, there was no silverware. Had to wait for silverware. Mentioned to the server that our plates had only one sausage on them and was told that it was a misprint and she should have mentioned it when we ordered. NOTE: Two different issues of the Greece News state that you will be served 2 sausage patties. Eggs were cold and tasted like they had been prepared on a very greasy grill. Tried very hard to make the best of the morning and decided to try a second serving of pancakes. Longer wait for the second serving than for our meal. Once they arrived, they were CHARRED. We told the server that these were not edible. She agreed and mentioned that she should not have taken them from the kitchen to serve us. Took the pancakes back and we were left to wait for our second serving all the while watching every other table receiving stacks of perfectly cooked pancakes. I would like to mention that at each interaction with the server we were given an apology. However when you get up to 8 apologies in 20 minutes for a very limited menu - you realize quickly that a return visit is not likely. If you are inclined to try buckwheat pancakes with homemade syrup, I would suggest Zarpentine Farms on Burritt Rd. in Hilton. The staff is super freindly, efficient and the pancakes are huge and delicious. We tried Mayers and unfortunately were very disappointed.

Horrible first impression!! I wish I could rate how the food was, how the tasting went or how the service was but we didnt get any of that. I called the business 3 weeks prior to our visit during business hours no answer. Called back 3 times before I actually got someone to ask "I plan on doing a girls day out for my sister-in-laws 50th birthday and asked what time will they be open on Sat Aug 5th, what time will they be starting the wine tasting and what time do they start to serve lunch?", the response I got was "We open at 11, start the wine tasting at 11:30 and lunch starts at 12." Well we got there on Aug 5th at 11:45 only to find the doors locked and a cook answers the door to say he is the only one there and is not sure when the others are getting there. He was kind enough to let us come in and sit but after another 15 mins of sitting there still no one showed. The one star was for the kindness of the cook otherwise it would have been no stars. Sad this how you choose to run your business. Hours are meant for a reason, this is just plain disrespect to your customers. I will never go back and I will never recommend.

An amazing little jem of a winery. Tucked into a little corner of Hamlin/Hilton off Route 18, the tasting staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the winery and the wines. They have a wide range of wines and ciders to suit just about any palate. While we did not try the food, the menu looked delicious and had very reasonable prices. They have a lovely event room that can fit just over 100 people and they said that they often do various special nights during the week with deals on food and wine. Will definitely be coming there again! Special props for Ashley and Lorraine for taking the time to make us feel welcome despite showing up right before close!

We visited this place on a Sunday in the late afternoon and loved it! We did the tasting with cheese and had a quesadilla from the bistro. Dave, the owner, was amazing! He had a very pleasurable conversation with us while he educated us about each of his wines. He even catered the tasting towards our preferences which made it even more personal. We will certainly go back and we strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to taste some of the best wines and appreciates the experience that Dave provides! :)

We have been there several times and could not have been happier. The food, service and wine are excellent. The setting is just awesome. Strongly recommend. Just called them with a reservation for 10. We and a group of friends at going to Dancscore at SUNY Brockport on Saturday and the Lake Ontario Winery was the ideal choice!
