We pulled into the lot and saw cars taking up two spaces. We parked in one and wondered how bad could it be? We went up to the clubhouse and checked in waited past our tee time then went inside to find that they never checked us in. One hour past our scheduled tee time they finally let us on and we proceeded to play 6.5 hours for a round of 18 holes. The course had burnt fairways and crapgrass tee boxes. When we finished we went back to find that the car had 5 new scrapes and scratches on it. Not sure if it is from the valets guests or clients but this lot sucks and there is no cameras. The staff is extremely un helpful and takes problems personally instead of helping out to remedy the problem or offerring assistance. I will not be returning and advice you to do the same, for $50 greens fees this is not worth this kind of hastle or irritation

A great venue! Truly a gem of the GolfNYC group (Van Cortland GC, Kissena Park GC, and Forest Park GC, are the others). I played on a gorgeous Sunday, so it did play a little long (5-hrs), but usually, you can round this course in 4-hrs. This is a short, yet challenging course. The entire facility is well maintained with friendly staff. Ed and Jason at the front desk were extremely helpful, and the starters were very attentive, as well. The rangers made sure the players moved at a good pace. They have a decent snack bar with hot dogs, sandwiches, and drinks fully stocked--all at reasonable prices. The parking lot has a charge of 3$, which is normal at most GolfNYC venues. All in all, a great course with fantastic landscapes and challenging holes! A must play course!

The real problem with Douglaston is the customer service and out right RIP OFF. I walk in and theres no one at the clubhouse, and when someone did arrive he was rude and angry...it wasnt even 8am. Hate to see him after a day of "work." I asked him for the rate since we missed the early bird by 10 min. He rolls his eyes and points to some board and walks away. Real nice. Ive been here 3 times and its always the same. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. Kissena staff is much nicer. If I were management if get rid of everyone there and start over. And as I can see all the other reviews agree with me. Dont even go.

I have played course regularly since 1992. Its in the best shape ever..........lush fairways and well manicured greens and tee areas. The 18th is the best finishing hole I have played with a great view from the tee area. Personally I enjoy the consecutive par 3s on 15-17, but think the 11th is too tricked up with a tall tree guarding the natural approach to the green (you must hit intentional slice off tee for only clear approach to green). Staff is friendly and pace of play is fine. Its a challenging walk.

Douglaston would be a nice place to golf if the course was coupled with mannerful staff. The staff are pretty rude and make patrons feel second rate. In the game of golf, learned individuals come together to learn from each other as well as play, and meet wonderful people along the way. The staff at Douglaston golf course are not those kinds of people. Be wary when you play here. Golf.. great. Staff.. not so great.

Dont know why all the complaints about service, I have been treated well by both the desk staff and starter the last 2 years, The course is in great shape in spite of the lack of rain and course use Okay, I could do without $2.75 for parking and a 4.5 hour round on a Wednesday morning so I take away a star for these 2 items

Never play this course. The staff of this course are so rude and hostile attitude. No rain check allowed even we played 1st hole only. Never waste your money at this golf course. Be aware this people. Even supervisor dont care whatever we complain. Weve been treated so bad and felt stupid.

Its very hilly and short, so it can be challenging for those who are new to the game. But if youve been around the block, then you should be just fine. In terms of condition of the field, it is pretty clean. Its not too expensive, and its not overly crowded. I plan to go back again

This is a great course. Staff is very friendly from club house to grounds crew. In the 3 years playing here, have never had a bad experience. The morning GOLFERS are friendly with a cheers atmosphere. Greens in excellent condition and rest of course well maintained.

Its on almost every hole no ranger to be seen around and players who cant play black tees playing them easy 5 and a half hour round. Better playing long island courses

One of the best kept greens for a public course. Excellent views and elevations. Fun and challenging course. Average play time is 5+ hours

Went to a dinner party here. The food was good and the staff were nice. I had a really good time. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful.

I feel the holes seem longer. However when it rains the puddles and mud can be frustrating especially when your ball gets stuck in it.
