I went to new Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands for the first time last night to see Bruce Springsteen. MetLife can try to rebrand it and put up all the Snoopy statues it wants, its like trying to rename the Sears Tower in Chicago, they did but NO ONE calls it anything but the Sears Tower. My first thought on seeing it was it was really ugly. With all the metal around it, it looked like a little kid made it from an erector set, or they never finished the construction. My first issue was when I tried to enter the stadium- apparently they don’t allow cameras, which is their policy and not Bruce Springsteen’s as I was allowed a camera at the show I saw in Philly 2 weeks prior. My issue wasn’t that I wasn’t allowed to bring it in. The issue was that the overly rude worker at the gate tried to KEEP it and I had to wrestle it out of her hands and walk it back to the car. When we got to the gates a second time they took my purse from me and forced me to turn my back as they were going through it. That was NOT acceptable and had my husband not jumped in and watched for me, I fully expect some of my personal items or cash would have been taken. As for the stadium itself, it’s even uglier inside than it is outside and it’s filthy. The way the concourse is laid out with venders scattered all over is actually dangerous in a crowd as you have to zig and zag to get around them. Then you get to your seat and realize it makes an airline seat look spacious. I am not a large person and I was extremely uncomfortable. It’s so cramped that the gentleman behind me kept kneeing me in the back of the head, not on purpose, just because he was tall and had no room. Beyond that, the acoustics there suck, they have to crank the volume too loud to drown out the air traffic from Newark and there are nowhere near enough bathrooms. At one point there had to be 200 people in line for the ladies room. And leaving the show is again dangerous, all the ramps funnel into one and you all go out the same entrance into the biggest cluster of a parking lot I’ve ever seen. Bottomline: Jesus Christ and his 12 Apostles could book a show there and I wouldn’t go.

Metlife Stadium and Port Authority shuttle service.... what a joke! First time in New York and it was our first time watching a football game at Metlife stadium. Tip for tourists, if you havent got a private car or a way of getting there thats NOT public transport, give yourselves an 1 and a half BEFORE AND AFTER the game to get there for the beginning and to get home at a reasonable time. Getting to the stadium with the shuttle service wasnt so bad. Getting home however was an hours wait in line (even with leaving the stadium a little earlier) and then another half hour to get back to Times Square to our accommodation. The Port Authority really needs to sort this out because its not good enough, especially when transport is not included your original ticket price. Aside from transportation issues, the football game was good fun... however the security when it came to settling very rowdy and drunk patrons was very poor. Also when purchasing tickets there was NO information about not being able to bring in small backpacks or handbags and we were forced to put our bags in a locker before going in and were treated terribly by staff when we had to do so. All in all, I will NEVER recommend for fellow friends and family travelling to NYC to see a football game in there state.

We went to see the 49ers (our team) play the Giants. Getting to and from the stadium (we drove) was fairly easy considering the number of people attending the game. Parking was easy and reasonably close to the stadium. The stadium staff was friendly and helpful. The food was a little pricey and some seemed a little old (like they had cooked it before we got there). There were tons of choices though! The Dunkin Donuts coffee is NOT Dunkin Donuts.....it disguised in a DD cup, but dont expect that fresh taste! Not even close! Bathrooms were easy to find and lines moved quickly during the busy times. The FANS were amazing! We were decked out in our 49ers gear and we werent sure what kind of reception we would get. The Giants fans were warm and friendly. They busted on us a tad, which we expected, but only in the friendliest of ways. One gentleman behind us even gave my son some hand warmers to stick in his mittens and invited us to have a bite to eat at their tailgating station in the parking lot post game! Going to see our team play here was the next best thing to watching them play at home (which we wont be able to do anytime soon) so Thank you Metlife Stadium and Giants Fans!!! So classy!

MetLife is an island stadium, in a crappy part of wasteland NJ. The good news is that they allow tailgating, and many fine folks come out. The bad news is you are trapped in their parking lot until the game begins. No restaurants outside the stadium, or anything. And in the stadium? No sit down eating or bars for the plebes. Now if you are filthy rich you can join one of the 5 private clubs and get all the bars and sit down seating you want for $400-$1000 per event. I guess that is one of the many prices of living in NJ/NY. Around the U.S in places filled with normal folks, stadiums are surrounded by restaurants, hotels and even shopping. BTW parking is $40 unless you prebuy online. Cash. The views are good in the seats, and the video screens clear to see. The concession food is horrifying. I ate at the cheeseteak place and it was rat meat and horrifying bread. The BBQ platter was beyond gross, the meat is obviously grade D. A McDonalds would be a step up. Maybe 2 steps up. The folks at the game are pretty cool, more NJ than NY. Except the screaming monster family that everyone in section 115 wanted to kill. I hope your 7 person family including the 5 obnoxious kids you spawned drove into a lake.

HERMOSO ESTADIO.

Its not bad stadium by any measure but its not amazing either. Food selection is decent at least at the suite level. Sushi, hand carved steak sandwiches, wings, waffle fry bar, and burritos are all there. Burritos are large and tasty for $10 though theres no guac. Waffle fry bar is decent for $11, you can put all the burger toppings including bacon on them. I got a small nachos this past game, it was quite weak. Not sure where the sour cream was and hardly any toppings otherwise. Beers are around $10 for a large, what the difference between a large and a small is I dont know. Craft beers are $12 for a large and they have 5 or 6 on tap. Staff are fairly nice and accommodating. The train out there is fairly quick and not all that bad if you get a seat, it takes about 45 mins to go from Pen-Sec-Met. You can drink on the train from Penn but they will stop you if they see you with a can when you get on the train at Secaucus. Fans are pleasant, I went to a Jets-Dolphins game with my mother without issue. I would never bring her to a Jets game in Miami.
