With their mix of first-rate Scholastics including the multitude of AP classes and honors classes- the historical significance, the size and scope of the campus, the unparalleled offering of Arts in the country including musicianship and Theory, Theater and acting, vocals and a myriad of dance! Las Vegas Academy is truly the Excellence of Nevada- in which your child will receive the finest in science and Mathematics and engineering but also possibly the most advanced and recognized Arts High School in the nation. Las Vegas Academy of the Arts has been recognized internationally and has won numerous Grammys and other Awards For music and Theatre. Recognized as one of the very top guitar and piano schools in the country but also recognized as having some of the most challenging and rewarding of Academia as well. LVA is not easy and kids must pass their audition to be accepted in, but if they do and if they persevere especially throughout those first couple years - they will be rewarded (and awarded, scholarships) with colleges clamoring for their attendance and a future where skys the limit!

LVA has wonderful Academic teachers and courses all of which help you better prepare for college due to serious deadlines, detailed assignments and college based academic plans. Not to mention, an abundance of AP classes such as AP Psychology and AP Human Geography. The teachers really do want you to succeed and are understanding in all aspects of your educational and home life. LVAs music and art programs are outstanding, and top-of-the-line with an innumerable amount of opportunities like performing at the Smith Center, The Rio and out-of-state travel. However; procrastination and lack of motivation to complete assignments and follow up with majors, will put you into to a state of tremendous stress and potentially put you on academic probation. This school can wear you out and put you on financial struggles (but they do have in-major scholarships and fundraising opportunities to prevent this) but it is still a wonderful, special and unbeatable school. If you think you have what it takes to be an LVA candidate, then go for it; youll appreciate all it has to offer (except the facilities).

First of all, all of the people that said rude things about LVA need to sit down and get there life together. This is one of the best schools in the valley. You had to work your butt off to get in this school. I love how everyone gets to show there art ad all the different majors. The teachers are great. This are school is a college prep school.....no matter who or what you are you are loved gay or not..... so those of you guys that said some pretty rude stuff about the school needs to shut up especially if you go to the school. Maybe you should try to make a change in the world instead of sitting on your couch eating Cheetos while everyone else is trying to get into the colleges that they want to get into and have a successful life... to me you are just jealous and dont feel like trying. Someone else would love to have your spot in LVA....so maybe you should step along and let someone else become successful... sorry but you had your chance and you just ruined it..Im sorry if you didnt like the school but i think its amazing and so does everyone in it.

My son goes to this school and I dont really have anything bad to say about it... except for one thing they need to change the way they do things in the activity office... They give students tickets for events and they end up taking them away a day before from them to give them to other supposedly better students... They just got some VIP tickets for the 2016 Latin Grammys, and they end up taking them away from some of the students just a day before and even, some of them even got taking off the bus last minute when they were ready to go... Any the explanation to them was because of one bad grade, whish a lot of those kids that did go also had bad grades...They play with students emotions the person that is in charge did not care about this students crying about how they lost the chanse to be part of this... And the principal didnt want to get involve...

Freshman here. Ive been attending this school for two weeks and I am sick of it. Lunch room feels unclean, and 70% of the students dont have a table to sit inside. Instead, the majority of students sit on the filthy ground around campus. There is no school police. The campus is massive and anyone can walk in from all sides of the school. Why dont they have the police? Probably because theyre left-wingers that hate cops. Also, most of the staff is liberal biased. Asked my career ed teacher and even he admits the school is left wing biased. No police protecting campus. People will hate you if you are a straight, white male. Long lunch (bread) lines. At least 10 students in every class talking during the Pledge of Allegiance of the United States. Students with conservative views are silenced; those with liberal views are praised. Liberal Paradise!

Im a sophomore here this year. By the fourth day I was already tired of it. The staff was rude and threatened to throw trash at my friends a I. First off, if its too hot to walk your dog because itll burn their feet, why are you having children sit on the unsanitary ground? Theres no tables for most of the school to sit and the tables that are there are in the beating sun. Not only that, theres no place for people with allergies to go. If we can spend roughly $40,000 on a play, why cant we have tables for everyone? The classes here are fine, but they work "techies" to death, keeping them at school for hours after. Theres a lot of drug use at this school as well. The stress level you get from this place is sometimes unbearable. No wonder people who go here kill themselves.

im a freshman techie and at first i loved this school and my major but as the year goes on im starting to like it less and less. Most of my classes are doing everything online there is so many glitches with the program we are using. i will turn something in and when my teachers get it, it will be blank. Also my teachers who do everything online are not even teaching they hand us computers and expect us to know everything. I have so much work that im drowning in it, when called up to the couclers office i got yelled at and called lazy for not doing my work, even though every night i go home and spend hours doing homework. the major programs are great but the rest of the school needs to get their crap together

My daughter had a cast on her leg for over 3 months, she was denied a 504 plan, instructors complained about having to provide accommodations for her, her orchestra teacher gave her an F because she couldnt sit up properly due to her cast- thank goodness a doctors directives for sitting with her leg elevated forced that teacher to change the grade. The ONLY people who had any kindness and consideration for her were the custodians. They gave her rides in their carts to get from building to building so she wouldnt have to juggle crutches, backpack, and violin.

My daughter is a junior this year at this school and is a flute band major in V2. For her freshman and her sophomore year, band was amazing at this school! But, this year it has gone way way way down hill because of the new director "Mr. Seaton" that they just got this year. The new director is very disorganized, and my daughter has told me many things about him that she does not like such as, disrupting her playing exam when somebody came in the classroom, and giving her an F. Its a shame. She used to really love band when they had Dr. Biles.
