My wife and I trail run at Al Foster all the time and have watched the miniature trains full of parents and their little ones enjoying a train ride through the woods. We finally had the opportunity to experience with our niece and nephew and their great grandfather, who worked for sante fe railroad for his entire life. Kids and a kid at heart! When they are running the trains on Sundays, get there early. The lines can get long. I also strongly suggest applying bug spray before you leave. The train does go deep into the woods and it is very still air where they switch the train around to go back home. Very enjoyable.

If you have children who want a different experience outside away from the TV this is a place to take them. I remember going here since I was a small child. I loved every second we spent there. My father had been taking us there since it was first in north county. My favorite part of the journey is the view of the Meremac river from the train. Looking down from the bluff as you ride along is breathtaking. Do yourself and your family a great favor and go. Afterwards have a picnic in one of the near by parks.

The kids always love a ride on the miniature railroad. The recommended donations are a tad pricey with a family of 6 (around $3-4 each), but the ride is about 20-25 minutes and goes through the woods by the river. The track doesnt loop, so they disconnect the engine at each end and connect it to the other side. Youll go one way facing forward, and face backwards the other way.

I volunteer there, and it is run off of all donations. It is the perfect place to take kids, or just to sit back and enjoy a train ride. New track is being built, and you can also ride your bike or hike along the trails down there. It has steam powered engines and also diesel engines. It usually isnt crowded, and you get a great view of the Meremac River.

What an amazing little activity! The staff is polite and very good with the kids. Tucked in the backwoods of Wildwood, this is a true gem of way west county. Prices are very reasonable and the train ride is relaxing along the bluffs and river.

Great experience and fun for the whole family. My son is into trains and absolutely loved it. Train ride is through the trails and is very shady as youre not in direct sunlight. Ride lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. Will be coming back.

Love this place! Inexpensive, grandkids absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed their train ride. Dont forget to get an engineers cap and a train whistle. All unpaid, volunteer workers. Great if you live trains, history, nature, Legos...

If your little ones love trains, then they will enjoy this ride. This train is smaller than the one at the STL Zoo, it is a little challenging for adults to squeeze in, but it is the perfect size for kids.

Perfect place for the little ones who love trains. This mini train has become an autumn tradition for our family and I hope it is one we can continue for many years to come.

Awesome place to take the kids for a miniature train ride. If you plan it right in the fall, you can take in the fall colors.

Fun ride for the kids on a beautifully scenic route by the Meramac river. 2 mile ride with more track coming in the future.
