Had a reservation to accommodate a large party (15 people); ended up waiting for 20 minutes while simultaneously being ignored completely while they figured out where to put is in a largely empty (I could see a set of tables put together that would fit us all - albeit possibly reserved for another party). I get that large parties are difficult, but its not like they werent expecting us to arrive. I understand the need to find a place to put everyone, but at least letting us know youre working some logistics out goes a long way to make the wait more tolerable. The Hostess was literally avoiding the front desk pretending to be busy elsewhere the majority of our wait. Having recommended this place to my friends for our event was an unfortunate embarrassment. The food was good when we finally got it; the waitress was courteous and the long wait for food and drink isnt necessarily her fault. Had it been a busy night Id be more understanding, but this place was far from slammed; possibly understaffed for a weekend? I just get the impression this place doesnt care whether I like my service or not because theyre an institution of Stillwater - and people will continue to show up (at least once). I will not again.

We had a party of 8, 2 of us ordered the porkbelly burger with fries. Both burgers arrived after a 1/2 hour, bit into burger to-discover raw uncooked meat as if it was pulled out of fridge, browned on each side and served. The server tried to say that was the texture of porkbelly. After we educated him on the fact the meat was raw he brought back burgers and in another 1/2 hour we got burgers that were half their original size but cooked. We were asked if we wanted a comped beer to make up for the mistake. I wasnt drinking. The other remaining meals were sub par at best. Everyone who ordered fires got them cold. Service was poor and the only thing our server was attentive about was trying to upsell us $10 worth of bacon to our meals so he could win a bet for free drinks after he was done working. One of the worst dinning experiences we have had in years.

Used to be my favorite restaurant - my first choice for birthday dinners, taking friends from out of town, etc. After the recent menu change, we were so disappointed with the limited menu, which apparently is even more limited on weekends (which, what???? Who offers less choices when more people are there????). The fish and chips, which used to be the most lovely, lightly battered small pieces of fish, is now one large, overcooked lump of . . . something . . . not really edible. Way too brown and the fish was tough. It came with fries, of course, which were so "seasoned" they looked white. Maybe the idea, since its now a taproom, is to drink more beer because the food is awful, but no thanks. Our server was not great, either, but we kind of got the impression she was sick of hearing complaints about the changes. Wont be going back.

Went Saturday afternoon, May 7th, 2016. Has a beautiful patio, but was a little cool so we sat inside, has mostly craft beers, my wife and I are not fans of craft beer, just wanted to relax with a familiar beer like Michelob Golden Light, the most popular beer in the state (there were no light beers offered). Wait person recommended three beers and said she would bring samples. It took literally 10 minutes to get 3 little samples! It was not as though they were too busy for the amount of wait staff they had, most were hanging out at the kitchen waiting for their orders. Anyway, the 3 sample beers were all pretty skunky, and the wait person was nowhere to be seen, so we left and found a much more accommodating place at P.D. Paddys where good beer and food was found!

Spent $90 for 3 adults, 2 children. The most over priced lunch with the worst food Ive ever had. Coleslaw had no taste. My Reuben Burger was bad, couldnt hardly chew it. Jalapeno Burger was tasteless, really overdone and the cheese used on the nachos wasnt real. Our french fries were the worst ever. McDonalds has better fries!! There is only one choice of bread for the burgers, very strange for a large restaurant, you get Pretzel buns, which I dont like. Freight House doesnt even serve milk for children! We had to walk to a nearby restaurant to get some. WORST LUNCH EVER! WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING NOR WILL WE EVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!! VERY SAD!

Crappy service. We were on a girls weekend. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 pm and put our names on the list for patio or regular seating--preferably patio but would take either. Waited for half an hour to be seated even while we saw open tables on the patio. Finally, seated us inside in the corner of the upstairs loft. There was no air flow. We sat for 15 minutes and nobody came by to take our drink order. We walked out. Items on the menu looked ok. The inside of the restaurant is neat looking and some of the drinks looked fun--served in a mason jar or pineapple/cocount, but we never had the chance to order.

Horrible service. I had to walk out after waiting over an hour for food and watching people who had come 15-20 minutes after me being served before me (with the excuse of the "kitchen being slammed"). When I complained as my food FINALLY came out, they said I could take 10% of my order or just leave and theyd cover the appetizer wed eaten. We left, though, I wish I had eaten my burger which would have had to been thrown away anyway and stiffed them on the bill after that terrible experience. Ive eaten there before, the food is just okay, but after such horrible service, I dont care to go back!

Its expected youll sit with strangers at a large bench. Never going there again. This restaurant always had mediocre food, but culinary draw was never its strength. It was the ambiance. Now, even that is gone. Now theyve removed any token relaxing chairs and forced us to uncomfortable "state fair" style picnic tables. No backs or chairs. Just large group style benches. We had to turn sideways against the bricks to keep from back strain. Check out Charlies for relaxation and comfort by the river. Save the benches for corn dog eating at the state fair.

Was overcharged for tap soda because I ordered a coke and then asked for a lemonade because the soda was watered down. Tried charging me $3 extra and sever was more resistant than willing to help when I complained. Kept saying his manager makes the rules and hes just enforcing them until I asked to speak to that manager and then he adjusted my bill. You should NEVER be charged an additional soda item just because you switch kinds. Thats just being greedy and offering poor service. Food was actually good, I just wished the service matched the food quality.

The location is all this place seems to have going for it. And it *is* a great location with a large outdoor dining deck with views of the river and lift bridge. However, the food itself is pricey for what it is...bar food. Not bad bar food, but I wouldnt call it great, either. And, sadly, our one trip there was a disaster. It took an entire hour for our food to arrive and when it did, it was clear much of it had been sitting under the heat lamps for while. We brought it up with the manager and they couldnt have cared less. We will not be returning.
