The manager(middle aged woman with brown hair) was rude. We had a celebration/dinner after my uncles funeral and my husband came to pick me up and had to bring in our 8 week old puppy that weighs about 2.5 pounds. She didnt bother to get off of her barstool away from her drink to ask him in a professional manner to take the puppy out but yells across the room that she is the manager and doesnt bring her dog into work. Well he wasnt bringing his dog into work and was not going to let it down on their filthy floor. She could have handled that alot better and because of that none of us will be back there. We all agreed the Forest Lake Legion wouldnt have acted that way. And maybe the food for the reception for $200 would have tasted better than dog food! Bad taste in my mouth all of the way around!!

The food has been a nice surprise, above average flavor compared to similar places. Prices a decent and you get your moneys worth. The only reason for 3 stars is the service is like Jeckel/Hyde, either its fantastic or you feel invisible and they dont know youre sitting there.

I love Fish Fry Fridays at the VFW. Service is great, staff is helpful and kind. Great place to go where the people are friendly and fun to be around.
