Was there New years night....for the most part it was a good night. Some bowling and karaoke with some free pizza and champaign given. Couple issues...inconsistency with the drink making...friend got a long island tea....seltzer water in long island? and a lot of seltzer water...another person who bought one earlier sitting nearby told the bartender that wasnt anything like the one he got. Response was "Well thats how we make them here." Real bartenders would be embarrassed with that. We had a round of lemon drop shots that tasted like watered down La Croix lemon water. I would stick to beer here. One other problem was it seemed like this was this crews first rodeo so to speak. I get drunk people can be a pain to deal with at closing time but there should be a general announcement for the entire place to hear, not a guy yelling for people to pack up to go. Need to ease drinking people to start to go. The real problem is that there was no "last call" that I ever heard and they were still serving drinks until 1:35 am. Five minutes later the employee started tell everyone to leave. Thats very poor judgement. Do a last call an hour or 45 min before your close to give people time to finish drinks, settle down and pack up to go. Next this same employee starts swearing at people to leave at 1:45 am.(advertised and posted closing time 2 am) Peoples shoes and coats were taken from bowling area to behind their counter at 1:40. weird. 1:50 same employee still swearing for customers to leave and now challenging some to swing at him. Yes....challenging them to fights. People were shoved out the door with drinks in hand at 1:50 and employees were ridiculing a woman for not getting her jacket on fast enough. Stop serving one hour before close and train employees patience and not to challenge CUSTOMERS to fights. If want people to be out of building before advertised and posted closing time, then change your closing time.

We were in town over Labor Day weekend, myself and my teen sons and one of their friends. I was on a a bit of a budget so I found this deal on groupon. An hour of bowling & shoes and $50 towards the restaurant food. We stopped in on Saturday night, hoping we would be able to get a lane and have dinner. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and got us going right away on a lane. He explained the credit could be used at any time while we were bowling, but I saved it so we could sit down and have dinner after bowling. I had a beer, kids had drinks and snacks, prices were decent and the bartender was extremely friendly. We all felt very comfortable and during our time (7ish) it did not get crowded at all, we were able to get in exactly 2 rounds during our hour. We had dinner in the restaurant afterwards, the food was delicious and service friendly. After an appetizer, drinks and meals for the 4 of us, I only ended up shelling out $3 out of pocket plus the tip. I would do it again in a heartbeat if we ever went back!!

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a bar/restaurant. I have never even thought about walking out and not paying for a tab before, but tonight I came very close. In retrospect, it would have been the right thing to do. My group was looking to have a drink or two, which we thought would take a half an hour since the place was completely dead and there were servers standing around all over the place. We felt completely ignored the entire time and it ended up taking over two hours. We actually got up and had to go find our server twice because we thought she had left. When we asked for our bill, it took 20 minutes to ring it up and another 20 minutes to split the tab. They overcharged us and rather than splitting the bill among our cards, put three bills on one card and two on two others. Our server was very rude, and nagged us to order food that we told her we did not want. I will never go back. TLDR; I will never go back. Do not go here.

Horrible service in the restaurant. We have a group of 15 for a birthday party. We all had at least one drink before having to ask to order our food. When they brought the food, many of us has something missed on the order and the lady bringing the food was very irritated by something. She just put each plate down on the table on one end without saying what it was and we had to pass it down. Our waitress never asked how we wanted our check and when we said we wanted it split, her response was "Well no one told me you wanted it split. Im bringing it on one tab and you can split it up." What kind of waitress is this?! What group of 15 young adults pays with one tab? We ended up having to each give a card and splitting the bill evenly which was good for some and bad for others. I would not recommend eating here, but bowling didnt have any problem.

It never fails.. Every time I have been in this place and ordered a tap beer it tastes like soap. Not sure if it is the glass or what? I think they dont rinse the glasses well enough. Everyone I have been with says the same thing. We drink a lot of beer at various establishments so I know it isnt our wild imagination. It is also true that service sucks! Especially the bar staff. They look just miserable and act like it is a chore to take ur order. I too have also seen them cut people off for no reason and no explanation. The patrons that I have seen cut off didnt even look intoxicated to say the least. I think it is some sort of power trip they like to use or something?!?! Who knows! All I know is the miserable service is what will bring this place down!!!!!

Ive been going to Park Tavern for about 12 years. It was one of the first places I ate upon moving to town (living in apartments within walking distance helps). Over that time the building and menu may have changed a little but the food and fun are every bit as good as they were 12 years ago. I do agree that service may have declined over the years, but it really depends on your server. Food quality is above your typical bar/bowling alley fare. The Groupon is a fantastic value, especially when you bring the kids. Lets not forget PINGO. :-) All in all, Park Tavern is a great place for a casual evening out or to catch a game on Sunday.

Six years I have lived in the neighborhood. I keep trying, and keep getting disappointed. Slow service mediocre food. The last time will be the final straw. We went in for the fathers day BBQ Buffett. Took 20 minutes to be greeted, another 10 for drinks. The buffett was not set up in the dining area, rather in the bowling alley down the hall and around the corner. When you got to the buffett there wasnt any food, plates or napkins. Once the food was refilled it was awful. Cold ribs, warm cole slaw. This was the last straw for me. Too many other fair to mediocre restaurants in St Louis Park to go bust. Bye bye PT
