Husband & I went to Libertys on a weekday morning for breakfast. It was pretty quiet, just ourselves & perhaps 2 other tables. One of the first things that I noticed when I sat down was that there were dirty tables near us which there was no excuse for. Also our menu which was covered in a plastic sleeve was FILTHY dirty & cracked, it even had a piece of plastic that was completely torn out. I didnt even want to touch the menu it was so dirty. I see absolutely no excuse for that. It took about 30 minutes to get 1 waffle & 1 omelette dish which I thought a bit ridiculous. When our food came, the syrup bottle was filthy dirty too. The food was ok & our server was very very friendly. Overall I have to say that I was also disappointed in the décor. The restaurant itself is very outdated & dark. I think the potential is there to be a nice place but it really needs a good overhaul & the staff needs to keep things clean & tidy!!!

Went on Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. We sat in the lounge. It was not busy, one couple at the bar, two tables had their food. After ordering and receiving our food the waitress never checked back. My beer glass went empty for some time before she asked if I wanted another. My wifes glass was nearly empty, but the waitress never asked if she wanted another drink. Had to ask the waitress for another when she got back with mine. Had to beg for condiments, ketchup, mustard etc. When we pushed our plates to the other side of the table she came over and asked if we were done or wanted anything else. We said we were done. Waited and waited and waited for the bill. Finally had to go to the bar to get it. She was training in a new waitress and I wanted to say, "Dont listen to a word or you will never get a good tip." By the way the burgers were ok, nothing special. Will not be back.

Recently, my fiancée and I visited Libertys Restaurant. It was a Saturday evening about a quarter to seven, the place was not especially busy, nor was it overly slow. We were seated immediately, then had to wait 15 minutes to see our server. Once she arrived, she took both our beverage & dinner orders. The drinks showed up, but after 45 minutes we were still waiting for our appetizer. I would have mentioned this to our server, except we never actually saw her again. At this point we decided to leave. On the way out I mentioned it to the host, and our server who happened to be standing next to the host. After I explained our frustration, rather than an apology, the server said "I was just going to get that" I do not plan on visiting Libertys Restaurant again. And would recommend you do not either - unless you have plenty of time and are not really that hungry.

Make sure you are not a member of the LGBT community if you choose to go here, the staff is downright hostile. Went in with my mom for her 55th birthday. Everyone around us got prompt service, we unfortunately were ignored for most of the night. Was served one drink, and the bartender never again asked if I wanted a refill. The food was served ice cold, it took more then 25 minutes for the waitress to come back. She asked if I wanted ketchup, I replied that the food was cold and she just smiled and walked off. Meanwhile she decided to tell the townies about the "nasty tranny" at the bar. We had to get the check by grabbing the hostess from the front of the restaurant and have her process it. We used to be frequent this place on a weekly basis, but we will no longer be dining at this place.

The staff was friendly to us but very quiet and we noticed a sign discouraging employee discussion. I feel like happy employees make a much happier atmosphere and discouraging them to talk made it feel quiet and slightly disgruntled. There were lots of screaming kids, some responsible parents took theirs outside, some didnt seem to care and in the overly quiet atmosphere that was very agitating. The food was not at all up to standard. For what we paid for our meals I expected a lot more. The steak was just steak, I couldve gotten better at Hy-Vee. The lobster was flavorless and even the butter side seemed devoid of buttery flavor. Over all the only upside was that our waiter and the girl who rung us up were very pleasant.

The dining room closed at ten. We were offered a seat in the bar room. We asked if we could possibly have a seat where it wasnt as loud. Our server said we could sit in the dining room as long as we didnt order anything... I asked if we could possibly sit in the dining room, then come to the bar room to order food? She said we could sit in there but couldnt or dirty until we were in the bar room. I ordered a cup of tea and a glass of water. I was given a a tall glass of sweetened iced tea and no water. Granted it was late in the evening but the place had been recommended bye a friend who lives close by. We ended up drinking the ice tea anyways and left without ordering.

The restaurant was busy on a Saturday around 1:00 pm. The booth we had and all surrounding area was rundown. Torn seats, worn wood, old and tired. Service was good, dishes, glasses clean. We had the lunch buffet, two of us. Smallest buffet ever, we are in our sixties and have had a few buffets. Pizza was good, hard to get at because of the way it was served on a lazy Susan in a warm box. Very weak salad, not much in the way of items. Pizza tasted good. I had a roast beef sandwich, which was fine. More like a nursing home lunch. On a scale of one to ten, a fair number would be a five. Price was about ten bucks each.

My husband and I tried to eat here, we stood by the hostess station for approx 25 min... nobody came to seat us, nobody acknowledged us, there were two waitresses having a conversation in the bar area directly in front of us so there were employees that saw us and knew we were standing there. Seating us may not of been their "jobs" but still they carried on the entire time we were there and could have gotten someone to seat us. We left and went to eat at Maries which is a wonderful place kitty-corner from Libertys

Went for the Friday night fish fry. It was ok at best. Service was good, we were sat in a booth just inside the front door that was torn and felt like I was seated on my grandmothers old worn out lumpy sofa from 1950. Food seemed to have been fried hours ago and sitting under a heat lamp waiting to be served. Lots of people eating, but none of the food coming out had that fresh crisp right of the fryer feeling...... it was soggy and warm at best.......As a connoisseur of fish fry I was disappointed!

Being new to Red Wing is hard for mexample and my little family of 3. Being that all shops are newto us and the house we moved into is a lot of work, Libertys makes us feel right at home. The ex-Navy owner keeps the place looking great and the food top knotch! We look forward to our Friday trip to Libertys fish fry as they have ribs, fish, popcorn shrimp and other amazing dishes! Wait staff is kind and helpful and they all help each other out! Highly recommend this place!
