We played The Mines course on the 4th of July in gorgeous weather. The course was well-maintained and the greens were well-groomed. The course is very diverse, with parkland holes mixed with tree-lined holes with impossible rough. The par 3s are perhaps the courses finest feature, with massive, sloped greens that can be difficult to hold if you stray off your line. We played the blue tees, at 6100 yards and a 122 slope. The Mines is a second shot golf course because nearly all of the greens are elevated and contoured. While there may be many benign pin positions, none were obvious when we played. The course is well-trapped, and the traps are deep but fair. The Mines is a course where you have to pay attention to contour to score well, and club selection is critical. This is not a course that you want to play from above the hole. It is, however, a course which is a great deal of fun. A thoroughly enjoyable round of golf at a moderate price. The club house/pro shop is "modest", but the practice facility is OUTSTANDING. 4.5 stars. Great fun at a good price.

I heard so many good things about this course so I decided to give it a go yesterday. I was immediately disappointed with how the course looked. The sand trap edges looked horrible. They looked like they werent maintained at all. I paid $32 for 9 holes with a cart. The price for 18 was $49. I dont think thats a fair price for the shape of the course, or the quality of the overall experience. Compared to a place like Thornapple Point where 18 is $45 with a cart that has GPS and a course thats in much better condition and a nicer clubhouse. Im also not a big fan of gas powered golf carts. While they are more powerful, they make so much noise. Maybe they are needed for some of the hills on the course though? All in all, Id say this is just an average course that doesnt live up to the hype or the cost.

What a terribly run golf course. They were packing in groups this saturday morning every 5 minutes or so, Waiting 10 minutes every shot. The two male workers in the clubhouse were extremely rude and unwilling to aknowledge your existence as a customer. The young lady working the counter was good and polite but I cant believe the others. Last time going here for sure which is too bad because the course if fun to play.

Dont play it. Would have been a six hour round if we didnt skip 4 holes. No rangers, no water, no cart service. Starter warned us "greens are awful" and they were. Guy we played with said "all you need is the clown mouth to hit it through and thats this course". Fairways are so sloped you get penalized for hitting them. Beautiful piece of land, but for skiing not golf. At one point we had 5 groups on one hole.

Well maintained course with large greens that are in great shape. This course has the feel of a northern MI course with a lot of terrain changes. Staff is great! This course is not walkable unless you want to get a workout. Other than the "less than average" clubhouse, this is an excellent course that I would recommend to anyone! A great value for the money.

very nice golf course being so close to the city. Greens were very angelating and several shots you had to place verses trying to hit over them. down side is no alcohol, food or place to sit after a relaxing round of golf. Otherwise well worth the money.

This is a great challange of golf. It is a Par 70 golf course, the greens are in great shape and the terrain is hilly and challanging. The only downside is that it is closed on sundays. GREAT COURSE, really worth a play.

Not very long, but the course has enough tricks to it to keep you on your toes. Greens are quick and have a lot of undulations. Thinking persons golf course, I am a big fan.
