This is bird sanctuary. ..while the public is allowed in, I dont know if beach goers are aware of the fragile eggs that blend into the sand, the kite flying above that area that scares the.birds, and other activities that could harm the birds.. I think the public should be mindful of this precious endangered species and tread the area carefully....

Theres nothing like the feeling you get when you walk to the tip of the sand bar and you find yourself standing in the middle of the harbor!

Excellent shore bird spot. Many rarities seen here including ruff, American avocet, and Wilsons phalarope. Piping plovers breed here,
