I have played Whispering Pines about five times and it is a very fun and challenging course. Like the name says there are hundreds if not thousands of pine trees there and the wind tends to blow hard out of the west on some of the more exposed areas. The front side is relatively more flat than the back side and you should be able to make some good scores there, but be prepared to hold on to your seat for the back side! It seems like every hole on the back is located on a hill so that you usually have to play from an uphill or sidehill lie and as a result big scores are definitely in the picture if youre not watching it. All in all Whispering pines is a fun course for intermediate level and higher players and not so much fun if youre new to the game because of the hilly nature on a lot of the holes. One last point that has to be mentioned is the price! $20 for twilight with a cart after 2:00 most days even in the summer is unreal so if youre looking for a challenging course that is also a bargarin give Whispering Pines a shot and you will not be dsappointed!

played the course in summer of 2016 with another golfer with handicap around a 7. This course was all we wanted...especially as it was the first time we had played it. I would guess that at least half the tee shots are blind and about that many have approach shots where you cant see the entire green. That makes any course tough, but this course is also very, very tight. We played the tips and although it certainly isnt long, the tightness of the course made even hitting woods or long irons off of the tee was still difficult. The staff was very friendly, pace of play for a Friday morning was great, and it is a very, very scenic course, even though some of it winds through a nice neighborhood. I wouldnt suggest you play the course for your first time each year and when you do go try to bring along someone who has played the course. Short of that, bring a rangefinder and dont be afraid to drive up and look your landing areas over. Enjoy!!!

Great place loved the whole experience. I would encourage any one to visit and play this course. You better be able to shape the ball and hit targets or the number you write on your scorecard is gonna be a big one. The course is very fair and not the longest by any means . The beauty is abound . I am not a fan of courses that have homes close to the field of play but in this case they are tucked away and out of reach unless you have never played golf before. Highly recommend this course I will be visiting again.

We had our wedding and reception at Whispering PInes Golf Club. The food was delicious, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. There were some hiccups along the way, but everything was resolved satisfactorily, or were unnoticed by our guests. The venue is beautiful and affordable. I highly recommend their services to those in the wedding venue market.

Great golf course that is well maintained and a challenge for golfers. It has the up north feel and look with many rolling fairway and large beautiful greens. The price is very competitive with other public courses and it has a great clubhouse. I highly recommend Whispering Pines Golf Club.

The golf course and food at the clubhouse are both fantastic. Had a banquet catered by them last year and it was exceptional and a good time. Staff are very professional as well. I have a Grandma-in-law that has a house bordering the golf course and she loves living in the neighborhood.

Very scenic in spots, but houses boardering some of the holes. Course in great condition. Greens will hold a ball well, thus rewarding a good shot. Lots of hills to negotiate, but greens are fair and putt well. No stupid, unfair holes to contend with. A well planned 18 hole track.

I feel like Im in northern Michigan when playing Whispering Pines. This course is one of my local favorites that gives a good challenge, offers rolling hills and lush forest, is well maintained, and has a very friendly staff. I will surely return.

We ( a foursome ) played last week on the back nine. Nice clubhouse, course is overgrown, we really didnt enjoy ourselves. No option to play 9 holes either Dont plan on returning anytime soon If your not an expert golfer plan on bypassing this one.

I was here for a wedding and everything went beautifully. The ceremony was only a short walk away from drinks and appetizers, main course, and dancing. I cannot comment on the golf but the course did look nice.

More than likely having my wedding here next year. Kristin is great to work with and did a great job at explaining fees upfront, rather than being shocked by them later on!

Beautiful course. Moderate challenge for most holes. High challenge on others. Nice employees. If you get a chance, a bad day of golf always beats a good day at work!
